In my semi-drunken state, I have predictions for DLC, and hopes for DLC.

1.) Sora (I want Geno, but. Alas. Sora is great too.)
2.) Banjo & Kazooie (with Minecraft Spirits & mii fighter costume bonuses, like how Cloud brought Geno & Chocobo stuff)
3.) Waluigi (I see him literally breaking off the assist trophy stand and turning into a legit fighter)
4.) Rex & Pyra/Mythra (surprise!)
5.) ... I can't decide. Goku? Sans? Saber for the Smash x Type-Moon collab because it's the biggest gacha in the world?

Especially Banjo & Kazooie w/ bonus minecraft spirits/mii fighter stuff is my biggest hope/prediction.

3 tracks? When XC2 has one of the best soundtracks of last year (maybe even a few years before it?)

No bops like Mor Ardain, Zeke's theme, counterattack, etc.? I'm really happy for Ultimate but this is low-key one of the biggest disappointments for me since I was expecting some more/better tracks from XC2. Oh well.

XCX fans have it worse. NOTHING and the game came out right before Smash development. I was really looking forward to Unbreakable in Smash. Elma DLC?

Xenoblade probably had the wildest ride this speculation period.

..Too bad it was a Rollercoaster Tycoon ride rather than a thrill ride.

From being sure of getting new content, to believing Rex is one of the most likely newcomers, to saying Elma is a likely newcomer after Sakurai confirmed when the roster was decided, to having hopes starting to dash with Vergeben and then box theory, to losing hope completely with the Grinch hoax, and finally getting 3 tracks a costume and that's all she sang..

• Monster Hunter/Phoenix Wright
• Steve/Banjo & Kazooie
• Bethesda Rep (Doom Guy/Dovahkin/Pip Boy) or Sega Rep (Tails/Joker/Yu Narukami/Flynn) or Katalina

What if the singer of Lifelight is Skye Bennett?

All third party huh? I definitely think it'll be majority third party but I'm unsure on all of it, would love to hear your reasoning on why though.

My personal opinion is

- Sora
- Bandana Dee
- Steve or Banjo (Entirely dependent on if they announce a new Banjo game at that Microsoft conference.)
- First party rep (Either Dixie or another rep from one of Mario/Zelda/Pokemon)
- Bethesda or Sega rep

Oddly enough, out of all the games Mario has been in, Smash and Super Mario Strikers are the only series I can recall him having much of a personality (a shame we didn't get more Strikers games after Charged too). At least Paper Mario has him reacting more than he normally does (and even then, Luigi, Peach and Bowser are more fleshed out in those games than him).

Though people may doubt it I believe that Elma still has a good chance at DLC it's definitely not out of the realm of possibility. I find it strange that we barely get any recognition or content for Xenoblade X, a game that Sakurai had to be quite aware of in 2015, while even the dead franchise of Custom Robo is given a love letter in the form of a Mii Costume (no offense to Custom Robo).

If Sakurai had little interest In X, why not at least make Elma, a favorite and basically a main/important character a sticker for Sprit Mode, and be done with it? Yet he hasn't even done that much for the game, yet more for those games that are already dead

If I come of as angry by some rare chance, I' am not. I' am merely curious and a touch perplexed.

Why are we roasting Yoshi?
Pichu and Pikachu and Kirby don’t have much more than generic personalities either.

Fire Emblem characters are shallow, too. They speak, but they all sound like children in a play.

Samus doesn’t talk. And just wanders around being future Link basically. Fighting monsters because it’s cool. Her most expressive game was also the worst of them.

Wario is just a douche.

Mario is Italian. Not really his strong suit.

Snake is a real character.

Simon and Richter, with all the personality they seem to exude, never said anything. They just fought monsters. The story is their saving grace, just like the majority of characters.

Sheik and Zelda at least have some rhyme or reason.

Rob is ....

Duck Hunt...snickers and makes expressions and is somehow friends with his master’s kill.

Megaman....a hero who fights renegade robots.

Sonic the freaking hedgehog has more personality than most of these wannabe protagonists and that...isn’t impressive.

Ganondorf is better than Link regarding lore and personality. He has history. He has motives. He...is an idiot and fails all the time, but his dialogue is sometimes better than a generic villain. Sometimes.

Ryu and Ken have some neat story...but it’s not really central to the game either. You’re better off watching ONE animation and ONE live action. Ignore the rest.

There really aren’t many characters in the roster who have much of a fleshed out personality at all. Most of the personalities of Nintendo characters are somewhat assumed because fans all have head canon.

The story mode in Japanese is not called World of Light.. But Star of Light.
This is clearly a refrence to Kirby, the star who'll shed his light upon those wandering souls.
Again with the meaningless localization changes :/

Star of light actually fits more, I really like that title more.
