Hot damn!

I just got into a discussion with a guy on YouTube, saying that Birdo should be the next Yoshi character.
And I said, what about Kamek? Even Shy guy and the bloody Stork is better than Birdo.

He kept going on about how important Birdo was to Yoshi and stuff...
Got me digging. Birdo has not appeared in ONE Yoshi game. Why the fruit, would anyone want Birdo as a Yoshi character then? Birdo is only paired up with Yoshi in the spin-off series because both are dinosaurs.

Chrom would be a nice addition, even though people would complain his move-set is too diverse from his game or the fact that he is a clone.

Sorry, Fire Emblem Heroes got me to love Fire Emblem characters so much.

Is there any romantic interest in them? I think this has never been stated. I Might be wrong, do not quote me on that, but if that were to be, that would be in the non-canon series still.

I, boldly, predict that all of the people pretending that we are not yet at the bottom of the barrel will get many of the characters that they would like to see... As assist trophies.

That's a really good question. They're usually paired as partners in sports/kart games (Birdo is the sub-captain for Yoshi's baseball team), share a certain type of item/weapon (the eggs).

I hope we do get a lot of stages representing recent games. Especially Kirby ones. I know Sakurai is heavily biaised with that series but come on, an Epic Yarn, Planet Robobot stage or even a Rainbow Curse stage could be awesome. I was bummed when I saw the selection from Smash 4 on this regard.

Also we need Hanenbow back if only to keep at least ONE Electroplankton universe representation.

To be honest, Monster Hunter getting a character wouldn't be that farfetched.

It got a Mii costume back with Smash 4's DLC and it's grown even more since then as it maintains a lot of its Japanese popularity and was selling at least a million internationally even before World came into play. It could theoretically have more of a chance then we give it credit for, especially since it's one of the few Capcom franchises that the company clearly values.

In terms of stages, I'd love to see Sylvalum from XCX. Some of the other locations like Noctilum have more memorable music, but the aesthetic of the area is beautiful and would stand out from the pre-existing stages and potential options from other games.

Frankly as would I, but I also have to acknowledge that Elma was only a few characters that let any impact on me at all as I played through the game, I can barely recall the names of most of the cast now.

I could see Wolf getting in on the base roster in that case, and Krystal being added in as a DLC newcomer. Unless there are multiple cut veterans once again making a return as DLC, then it could be the other way around.

Granted, it doesn't matter to me either way. Both my first and second most wanted get in with that scenario.

If I were you, I would not get too attached to the idea of Mimikyu, while it could definitely happen, he could also just be added as a Pokeball item. As for my thoughts on the time period, I am not buying it this time around. It just does not make enough sense to start a new game with a roster decided as you are finishing another game. There is definitely room for leeway this time around.

Remember, Charizard was originally a Pokeball. People are really expecting other than, which can really make the tables turn.

Zelda's English voice is great though. I just hope they don't keep Marth using his Japanese voice again, now that he has four games under his belt with an English voice actor.

Highly disagree with Zelda's voice, but Marth having a Japanese voice kinda feels like tradition at this point. It also sort of shows that he was originally from a Japanese-only title. It'd be weird not hearing him say "Minna, miteite kure".

I'm thinking it's beause MH doesn't have a character as such besides the generic hunter.

MVC:I has shown it can work but I think a hunter in Smash is not too high on either Nitnendo or Capcom's lists.

MHW is now Capcoms best selling game ever. Even if that games not on Nintendo consoles, the rest of the series has been. Eitherway it seems decently high on Nintendos list and at the top of Capcoms currently.

That’s what I was thinking. I’m sure Sakurai got some insider information from all the developers of other Nintendo games too. They know how big Smash is. I’m hoping what happened is that they had a few characters picked out, and then added more throughout development after seeing the such of the Switch and all.

There was someone I was discussing on here sometime earlier, I can’t recall, but they mentioned that this game may not have a lot of newcomers from the get go. They more I’ve thought about it, the more it makes since. Especially with DLC as an option now. I still think we’ll get solid cuts though.

Also, I know Mimikyu probably won’t happen, but a man can dream.

She is my number 1. Animal Crossing is so popular, and she’s become the second face of the franchise. Please God, Nintendo, and Sakurai, make it real.

I'm at this point in Smash where I find a lot of characters to be... Meh. Like, guys like King K. Rool are cool but some of the character suggestions just seem kind of... Eh. Like, no offense to people who like these characters, but some of the characters people are suggesting are really scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Makes me wonder what will happen to Smash after the Switch version.
