To be honest, the reason I want the Grinch leak to be real is because it had Isaac. But I've already accepted he won't be in, so this whole situation means nothing to me.

At this point, after seeing the verge's claim that isaac as AT, I'm really doubting it because how can Isaac return AS AT in Ultimate instead of being actual character. He was AT back in Brawl, but why so suddenly claiming that Isaac was AT again? I'm getting suspicious about that ****. I have feeling that Verge saw the Emily's post and decide to piggyback it up.

Insiders doing this kind of **** is making me suspicious and I don't like it.

I'm thinking it will have to do with Spirits. I really feel it's going to be something like that. And it'll probably make people even saltier than if he was just an AT.

I just want to point out that, if Isaac was indeed AT'd, that means we fans have been screwed twice. The entirety of the Smash 4 cycle and up until what seems to be the last or second-to-last Direct for Ultimate we've been in the absolute dark just for an "LOL get ****ed" right by release.

Like, Nintendo brings back the character just to give us a huge middle finger at the end. Why?

We aren't entitled to anything, bringing back any character in any way is a luxury.

So far it seems the only legit problems with the leak is the background which is admittedly a big problem. The only possible explanation is that it was an early build and the full banner was the first version of it made. I don't believe insiders or "too many characters". I'll try to balance my hype here, but still believing in the Grinch for now.

ive seen a lot of team real people go with the idea that its for one of those round lamp display things, so theyd probably reduce a lot of the minor details to make sure it doesnt all blur together

King K. Rool had been absent for a decade in spite of Donkey Kong being an active franchise. Why should Isaac be an exception regardless of the status of his franchise. Last I checked too wasn't the last Golden Sun game in 2010 or something? Much earlier then King K. Rool's last appearance.

Sakurai still needs actual permission to use these characters, even if they are first party. Despite Nintendo owning Golden Sun and it's characters, I imagine Camelot still has control of the franchise and it's properties. They can veto a playable Isaac if they want.

Honestly, Sakurai doesn't owe anyone anything. If he couldn't make Isaac anything more than AT or didn't want to, we just have to accept it. We're not the ones making the game, we don't know the whole process. Ridley fans got baited TWICE so it's really really possible to happen.

Consider this line of thought.

Why would Verge even say something as controversial as that to begin with?
Had he said nothing, he would have had less things he said have to come true, which would give him more consistency, and by extension, more credibility.
Yet he went out of his way to confirm Isaac's AT status, despite the potential to be incorrect. That displays at least some level of confidence.

Now whether you believe he's being paid off, is actually correct, or at this point has gone full loz18 is up to you, but it's an interesting thing to think about nonetheless.

Whichever the case, it's quite a turbulent time to be a Golden Sun fan.

I mean, that Sakurai tweet could just be the Sakurai thought it'd be a cool angle to take a sceenshot of a "monster hunting party" fighting Rathalos from. It could simply be a coincidence that it's in a similar angle to the Golden Sun battle screen.

I don't have 100% confidence in everything Verg has said myself, but let's not pretend like that tweet is super-hard evidence in Isaac's favor either.
