OK...we all know that everyone is divided when it comes to do we believe this is real or not, but what if we phrase the question differently:

Do you WANT this leak to be real or not? No facts, no proof, no debunking. If these were the final 7 newcomers, would you be excited?

Most definitely. Even as someone on the fence about this leak I can recognize that the roster that it presents is an absolute dream. Add on Incineroar and Sora as "leaked" DLC inclusions or forgotten additions and you have, hands down, the best set of newcomers for a Smash Bros. game without question. I literally wouldn't ask for anything else from Sakurai and Nintendo (except Persona content).

Occam's Razor is that the simplest solution is real, at least in most cases.

There is equal evidence (if you want to call it that) for both sides of the leak. Meaning that there isn't just one simple solution, there are two. So how can Occam's Razor really be applied here?

Most people saying it seem to be using it to disregard the points the other side of the leak have, which in my opinion is an over-simplification of the discussion.

No. The leak is presented with facts. The company exists, the person exists, the process of using autocad to make hanging standee's exist. These are facts presented to us. You can logically come to the conclusion that someone took a picture and it got out by accident, because that is what the leak is logically presenting. The real side has their proof entirely, they don't have to inference anything.

The fake side is saying that all of these "facts" are just a ruse to confuse and fool people, when they have no basis for that existing because no fact in the leak actually supports it, save for a change in background (which is also an assumption that backgrounds cant change lol)

See how the 2 concepts are entirely different?

Fat Banjo is ICONIC. They even had it at Gamescon on posters iirc. It was with a bunch of game characters and next to a poster of GERMAN FARMER SIMULATOR 2019

Both sides are still making discoveries and counterarguments.

Generally, I'd say it's more likely real than not at the moment. Inconsistencies can be excused and have good reasons for being there, insiders haven't said much on why it is 'fake' other than simply dismissing it or claiming they heard one or more characters that aren't there, and it's just been generally impossible to effectively disprove up to this point.

However, that still doesn't mean it's real. This could be faked, but at this point in time the amount of effort required to fake this would be absolutely monstrous that IF it is fake, the person needs to be put in a padded room.

Heck yes! I don't even have a definitive personal interest and currently no plans to main any of the 7 if they're indeed in (Not even Shadow, I still prefer Sonic as a character much more. I'd certainly try Shadow out since it'd be a different spin (pun may or may not intended) on Sonic's moveset in some way. But I prefer Sonic's spring over any of the teleport up+b's characters like Mewtwo and Zelda & Sheik have.

Banjo-Kazooie alone would be a big one though I feel. It'd be almost like the last barrier of console wars have been toppled at least temporarily by Smash. Cause finally getting someone that probably would of been in Melee or at least Brawl were it not for Rare's purchase by Microsoft would be huge.

But it's exactly why I'm not sure I can believe it's real yet. I'm saving all my giddiness for if/when it's confirmed. I do not want to be among the disappointed if it turns out fake. I'm taking the safest route I can with this. And that's to not fall on either side and just look at the evidence of both sides and just find out later which turned out to be the correct viewpoint. Both sides have good points... though both also have bad ones.

Ok, so which takes the least amount of assumptions:

A. Eric Bricard took the leak with his snapchat profile, that's why his name is on there.

B. A person looked up a company which printed out media for gaming companies, the found Eric Bricard's name, they made a new fake snapchat account under that name, got a sizeable enough number of followers for his post to get noticed, made the fake leak, and took a video of it on snapchat... all in the span of like a couple weeks.

Do you see now why Occam's Razor is so handy? Because your scenario is ABSURD.

Fine you win. I'm tired of this debate. I just hope you and other people won't get devastated if it turns out fake.

If we’ll get some kinda extra DLC battles then I actually think an Ender Dragon Boss Battle could work well if it came with Steve.

I've already given it.

The argument that they've changed the background to suit the composition ignores the fact that the changed elements are behind the characters and thus do not affect the composition in the slightest.

But since the topic keeps coming back to "make the characters stand out from the background," I'd like to point out that the background is intentionally desaturated specifically so the characters pop against it.

It's not the full body; it's his front connected to his back, the dog being on his back. You can see his nose at the end of the lighter side. I think it's some kind of prop for stores or a theater, like two flaps for the Grinch's two sides.

However, that still hasn't shown up either.

That's a big IF considering how much evidence is corroborating the leak. It's not just Grinch anymore, but Wendy's, Chadnondorf, and Papageno's sources now.

I must say, I commend you for your reason for being on Team Fake. Having a broken heart when something is not real is not something one would want to have, plus it would be painful. I am on Team Hmmmm as said before, and I am leaning towards real, but but I at least owe you some respect for being safe with what you think about this.
