I hate the argument that this rumor is "too fanservicey". Sakurai brought Ridley and King K. Rool because of fan demand, and brought back every character which Sakurai SAID he did because "we believe that's what fans want", and you're telling me he wouldn't add another 3 fan demanded characters in the form of Geno, Isaac, and Banjo?

It seems like nobody but Spawn Wave know who the third character is. Verge, Spawn Wave, and Mystic are the only ones who even mentioned a third character, so the others might not even have heard of one.

Anyway, I PLAYED ULTIMATE! I was at Warsaw Comic-Con and Smash was at Nintendo’s booth there. It was really fun. Being Honest, I just mashed buttons, even tho I’m way into the community and speculation this was the first time I actually played Smash, mainly cause it’s not that popular in Poland.

Yes, but it's not Banjo as they state it's missing a character who isn't in the mural, if that's what you mean.
Banjo would have the most reaction of any character in the leak imo. Regardless he'd have a massive reaction.

I've seen some people mention how a mysterious character (possible Sora) being missing might be dlc. That makes sense to me.

But almost every insider has mentioned Incineroar, do people think it'll be dlc too? Someone wrote a semi-convincing point, but I don't know if I'd expect multiple insiders to be aware of two seperate dlc characters but not most of the base game newcomers.

Just curious on people's thoughts about Incineroar! If your answer is just "meh insider's don't know anything" then...ok

Hmm. Well leaks or not, Ken would be obvious as an echo. Though incinnie is another story. Especially if talking about him was permitted. Could very well be leaker bait.

Irrelevant but I just realized something about Sora.

With how incredibly secretive Squenix is being I'm not sure why I'm assuming what makes or breaks the leak for insiders would be the Squenix rep.

I do think she has SOME connections but... she’s one of those leakers who throw fits and **** whenever they’re wrong which is more often than not. And I mean, I think anyone with sources is taking a 50/50 gamble but Emily will say “If I’m wrong then I’ll stop leaking” then come back three weeks later with another “leak” despite her being wrong.

On one hand... she's been wrong a tons of time.

On the others, her group of friends were smug about Ridley being in back in March.

And she did say that any smash fan would love that roster but that she doesn't want to ruin the surprise...which probably was hinting at everyone is here.


But yeah, she's not one I would trust, her weight isn't like Spawn-Wave perfect record or ZhugeEX or Ryce

What I really wanna know though is why everyone stopped investigating the Eric situation and how come nobody has researched further into the other company he works for, or assumed that the first company were only denying any involvement with Nintendo because they didn't wanna break NDA.

Seriously, the trail just kinda stopped. What, were both companies just not answering calls, or...? I know some people said that promotional displays are made internally at Bandai/Nintendo, but I don't buy that for some reason.

We still have work to do, boys. Let's keep following those bread crumbs.

I think there's many reasons why that lead is just a dead end.

- There's nothing online about them. Their website is kinda basic to be honest, to me it sounds like a company who works more locally, which is another point that makes me believe it's fake. Doesn't give me the impression that it's a big printing shop who works with international companies.
- So, if we can't research online, we need to leave it to french Smash fans. Fans who care enough to bother doing this. And since most of them the only thing they can do is call, it's pointless. Even if you call and they are open to ansering you about this topic, what would they say? Of course they'd say they don't know anything about it and wont mention who their clients are. Wether if it's because it's real and they have an NDA or they just tell the truth because it's fake. Same thing with Eric.
- What else could people investigate? Any other thing that comes to mind is just plain ridiculous: Actually drive there and see if you can spot something? Sit in some bushes with some binoculars and see if you spot anything suspicious through the windows? There's nothing left to do that wouldn't be creepy as heck. It's a videogame leak, we're not teen detectives solving a kidnapping in a TV show.
- Another point is, that Eric guy and his coworkers have probably had enough. I'd rather have the community just give them peace.

So, I know a lot of people have been saying "how on Earth can they show a minimum of 5 new character trailers in 6 weeks" when, if you think about it, Bowser Jr and Duck Hunt didn't get theirs' until after the 3DS version came out. Hell, they could just release them on the site if they wanted to. There's no hard rule that they have to all be attached to a Direct.

Sakurai said that all the fighters will be revealed before launch so i'd imagine there would be some breathing room between the last reveal and launch.

I still think that Isaac, Ken, and Shadow are in regardless of the Banner Leak being real or not. Too much evidence against it. Especially Isaac after that item leak from the Wendy's leak. With all the credible sources doubling down on Incineroar, I think he could still be in as well.

Someone like Chorus Kids or Mach Rider could easily not happen even if the above characters happen. And the SE character might be someone else like Sora or a Dragon Quest character instead of Geno. And as much as it makes me cringe, it could be Steve in there instead of Banjo lol.

We'll see sooner than later hopefully. Really hoping for a November 1st Smash Direct.

I'm not sure why Nintendo would have ANY Smash character be as publicly acknowledged by leakers as Incineroar

I think its because of the off chance of they’re wrong. Verge wouldn’t even deconfirm any of the characters on the Mural and in the past he has shot down other “leaks” before. It’s better off playing it safe.

Anyway, I don't see why 5-7 more characters are outlandish, especially when two are likely echoes. I know Sakurai alluded to less newcomers, but there's always the possibility that he wanted to surprise people with some more popular requests like how he surprised people with "Everyone is Here!" back at E3.

I know more characters means more needed development, but that's why you get more devs on different characters / groups of characters, as each unique one takes a year.

At least what Mystic confirmed seems to end the Box Theory if his sources are telling the truth.

I want to take people through my thought process on this game.

Okay, so the game is called Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for a reason right? When the game was announced in March, I thought "Wow, they are actually doing a new game and not adding or porting 4, which is probably the most complete Smash game so far".

Then comes the June announcement. Before this, I and most people had always thought it would be a simple tease like every other game. Just you know, reveal 10-15 fighters with a few new ones and call it a day. Not completely ****ing dismantle the way we thought we could get a smash game.
Right out of the door, we get all 63 characters announced to return (65 counting D. Pit and Lucina) and Inkling. Right after that trailer I thought "Okay, this deserves the Ultimate moniker, there can't be anything else that can top this.

Sakurai: "Oh yea? OH YEA???" -> Drops frucking Ridley on all of us like nothing.

Right there, every fighter returned followed by a popular newcomer and an extremely popular, previously thought to be impossible one.

"This is Ultimate, right here, there is NO WAY he's going to top these reveals again" - I said

Then the August and September directs come. Sakurai drops Simon, K. Rool and Isabelle on us all, and like Ridley were all considered fan favorites and some of them even pipedreams.

So what did I repeat to myself after Isabelle? "There's NO ****ING WAY he tops himself again, the leaks are rights, Ken and Incineroar are probably it"

But then I got to thinking about Ultimate dev cycle. Its the first game to not start from scratch on the engine, its also the first game to basically maintain and add onto the team that developed the previous game, and its also the longest smash game in development: Roughly 3 years. This is higher than Smash 4's 2.5, which developed a new engine and 2 games.

"Could there actually be more than we think?" He drops "Everyone is here!" early on, and gives us 5 highly requested characters added to the roster, 3 of which were considered nearly impossible. "Could he do it again?"

Then comes this immense, crazy, pipedream of a leak that seems to work on all fronts. Looking at the roster we have now and this final banner, this would be Ultimate.

Not Ultimate the way it felt June with everyone coming back, but Ultimate ever due to 90% of the fanbase's top picks being on this mural.

-Geno
-Isaac

These 3 were always in the same vein as K. Rool and Ridley for years. Sakurai mentioned pulling characters from the ballot. These would be there. They make sense.

-Mach Rider
-Chorus Kids

Previously considered characters (along with Geno) finally entering the fold. Makes ****ing sense.

-Shadow
-Ken

Super popular 3rd party characters that can be added easily as echoes. YUP. SPICY.

This right here. Even just the base roster, pitches the concept of ULTIMATE to me.

I get Emily gets stuff wrong, but she also literally was the only person to leak the game's title and the general size of the roster (I'd have to double check if she said no cuts, I don't think she said exactly).

Idk I'm not saying she's worth trusting, but when adding everyone else it seems weird again to discredit someone who was right about something about Ultimate specifically. (I mean, Vergeben didn't have a 100% track record but we trusted him for Ultimate)

I think it is more along the lines of, if I say who it is, then the higher ups will know WHO my source is and I would lose them.

They do not want to lose their cred.

I've heard some people say search results are being removed, but generally Nintendo only acts if it's video footage. Image leaks are pretty much impossible to purge in this day and age.
