What I would give to see a picture of the whole roster sitting down for a super special Thanksgiving dinner after all of this is said and done once the dust finally settles.

Apparently some Italian beta tester got their hands on the game. Saw this in the r/Kirby Discord.

While it's very likely it changed between then and now, I'd like to point out that we saw what Ultimate's Switch menu icon was a while back, and it wasn't this. It was a black Smash logo on a white background.

Okay so, I have one issue with the idea that the leaked banner is for one event and that it's incomplete. Maybe it's because I'm looking at it like a Smash fan, but why would they put Banjo and Geno on it and still have more to reveal? Those two seem like big deal characters. I mean, final reveals aren't hype all the time and whatever and Incineroar is still big being a cool Pokemon but like, who would top Banjo? Master Chief? Zack Fair? It's just weird to me.

I also never got a response on whether anyone had a source to the rumor that Xander Mobus is given a ton if fake names to announce while recording so the roster is totally secret even to him. I believe it but I can't find proof. I just think it's neat.

Sakurai has reached out to invite people to the event. Basically saying "Smash Bros starts at 12:45PM on both days. If you have the free time, please come!"
This doesn't really mean anything in an of itself, but it happened.

Here is the site about the Smash Bros part of the event.
It's a tournament.

They will of course have demo booths set up. Because Smash Bros wasn't labeled with "Trial Version", this led several people to believe this isn't the E3 demo and is, instead, the release version.

Which is not the case, because it is still a special event version. That could mean E3 demo (likely), that could mean updated demo (not unlikely), but it is not the release.

And most importantly, the participation prize is a sweet bandanna!

No, you smart***, I'm not implying they'll show off Dee there, I'm only excited about the badass bandanna they'll be handing out.

So take that as you will.

No, what people are saying is that whatever information you have is clearly not legitimate, even if you might think it is yourself. Or at least that's what I think. The only "leakers" I know of who get things totally wrong and do damage control are that Liam dude, Laura Kate Dale, Emily Rodgers, and Vergeben.

It's obvious that that's conspiratorial, and I don't honestly believe it to be true.

But I'm just a layman who can't know what you know about the game.

Something I think we should all try to look into. This may be time consuming but something has been bothering me with Incineroar...

WHEN DID THE CREDIBLE LEAKERS START SAYING INCINEROAR WAS THE NEW POKEMON REP?

I remember after the box theory was gaining power that Verge started to say "I checked with my source(s) and yes INCINEROAR is the new pokemon rep"

But what about everyone else? Did they all agree around the same time as Verge? Or was there some before the Box Theory? This is just too weird.

It all started with verge. Before that everyone thought it was decidueye. I honestly think verge is the reason so many think incenroar is in and everyone just won't admit it.

All this contradictory information between the leak and what insiders have seen from their sources makes me think Sakurai had some sort of galaxy brain strat to try and prevent info from leaking out early by spreading misinformation.

It's working, because I'm starting to wonder what to believe: the insiders or the leak.

The thing about this leak is that it’s too meandering for me to call it fake right on the spot, and I thought it was originally.
If this leak is real and this is the entire base roster, I think it comes down to three possibilities with the insider information:

• It’s a Gematsu situation where the character(s) are outdated info, and were eventually scrapped in the development process.
• Incineroar and any other potential newcomers dropped through the grapevine are slated for DLC instead, as they could potentially sell more “units”.
• Nintendo gave out leaker bait, and insiders fell for it as it seemed believable and predictable. (Ex. We got a Pokémon with each iteration so far, so Incineroar, given he’s both a starter and a rep for the newest games at time of development, was seemed as a lock by everyone else.)

While I don’t necessarily believe all these could be the case, they could be a possibility.

Regardless of whether or not the leak is real or fake, just remember this:

• We have a roster of at least 74 characters. That's already insane on its own without the likes of Isaac or Banjo being confirmed.
• Even if a lot of characters don't make it, Ridley and K. Rool somehow both managed to get in. The two highest requested characters, and now we get to play as them.
• We somehow have 3 Konami characters in this game, and most likely 3 Capcom characters too (Ken is the most likely character at this point).
• More alternate costumes
• At least 103 stages. If anyone thought there would be more than 100 stages in this game before we saw it with our own eyes, it would be seen as never happening. But here we are.
• A metric ton of songs. You have a bunch of jammin' beats to listen to.
• Bunches of small QOL changes, like Final Smash meter, preset rules, Hazard Toggle, Battlefield Forms, etc.
• A robust new mode just waiting to be shown.
• And, most importantly, no cuts. Everyone is here!

And that's all even without the stuff shown in the leak by the mean one himself.
Real or not, we're going to have an amazing Smash Bros. title that people will look at fondly for years to come.

We don't deserve Sakurai.

For a character like ****ing Diskun? Maybe. For Shadow? What the **** are you thinking?

To be fair we have a Shadow fan that was crazy enough to bet he'll drink 7 cups (which he stated, one for each chaos emerald) of MUSTARD WATER if Shadow isn't a non-echo in the base game. Compared to that person's bet (The same person with the "TWO spindashes and a spring" catch phrase), wheaties in salt water is absolutely delicious heh.

Hey, good news on a research I did on Nintendo's website that will corroborate with what Pyra just said.

So, the wording "Event exclusive version" has never appeared before on these articles. Not for the Jump Carnival event or anything else. So this event's build might actually be a very new build, probably "final but modified" build. Maybe what we've been currently seeing on advertising. It could VERY MUCH STILL BE THE E3 BUILD, but it has some support of it not being that!

You're pretty outdated if you think it was proven to be normal. It's the one thing people have been trying to say that "is normal" and yet everytime it's not true

It has been told again and again bypeople who know about printing business...

The background is printed in two times, like the APC videos show. Think like decals.

You have to do it like that because printing machines don't have enough precision to do heavy contrasts without messing up the colors.

For that reason, the backgrounds are usually simplified, specially in places where is known that will be covered by a character. To cut heavily the ink costs for these parts.

Add to it the quality is far from perfect because is for a very minor piece of merchandising (low quality, trying to simplify costs) and this fits too much with what would be a "free-gift" consumer present in a real product.

But hey, keep ignoring me and other who know about the business :/

I wont deny that it's still possible for the leaker to have played 2^1028d tetris, but again, if the leak is false the only proof that we have is to wait for nintendo to show a character that is not in the leak or has different artwork. Right now, and for a while to be fair, that's the only possibility for team fake. And again it would rise the bar soooo much that we would have to question everything about when to tell a leak is true or false (essencially so much that we wouldn't ever believe any leaks again). That's why, with things now withstanding (I mean, based in other true leaks precedents), telling the leak is false is either mental gymnastics, blind loyalty for leakers, or entitled/dismissive people saying that everything is relative so everything is fake. I'm sorry but no.

Right now the only, in my oppinion, acceptable posture would be to be "I wont belive it until Nintendo confirms", but saying that is fake has no foundation whatsoever.

...so we're still at a point where, despite the increasingly inflamed rhetoric, there's no evidence against the leak aside from the background arguments. I skimmed the Grinch render stuff but didn't see anything implicating.

At least we may have some new Smash demo gameplay coming in a week? I want to see Jigglypuff/Young Link gameplay
