Man this whole banner debate has really overfatigued me.

My only explanation for the discrepancies in the two Battlefields is how the printer works, that maybe it messed up, or some other material caused it or whatever related to the process this stuff is made in those companies.

Honestly the changes in the background are the biggest points to the whole thing being fake. Omni makes some great points here and clearly shows the discrepancies. To me this kills it, the only reason these changes exist is because someone had to guess and make the background. Whoever made this leak put in some crazy effort. It's definitely one of the craziest leaks ever, but to me its dead.

I won’t say that kills it. Easy explanation is that they changed the background for the final background art to fit better as a composition with everyone included. If the leaker was think leagues ahead of everything, why did they include the background art when they know something like that would be easy to show that it changed when compared to old art? It would be sloppy on the leakers part to spend the extra time on something that wasn’t necessary and would end up deconfirming due to just how detailed the background is and how easy it is to miss even a single detail or object in the back.

Honestly, another thing too is when do these characters get shown off? There's five unique newcomers here, potentially. When do we get five trailers in one month, when the game's director said there wouldn't be trailers all the way up 'till release?

Honestly, I am not onboard with the Spawn Wave two Directs rumor. What would another general Direct so soon even focus on to fill the usual 25-35 minutes?

I mean, I told everyone to stop acting like he was already confirmed. I ****ing love the Cat but seeing people shove Inceneroar down other people's throats as a sure thing was getting old. The tables have turned now it seems and it looks like people are hating on Incenaroar, sadly.

I don't fully believe this leak but if it's real and I lose Inceneroar I'm fine with that. It just means I'll have to support him for DLC pretty hard.

What goals are you hoping to accomplish with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

As for myself, ever since Robin was announced for Smash 4, I've always wanted to be the best Robin main. I feel so possessive of him that I can't stand the fact that someone might be better at him than me. I don't plan on going to IRL tournaments all that much, so I'm going to have to rely on the word spreading, enough so that my name gets mentioned when speculation of the best Robin players arises.

What about you guys? Do you guys have any competitive goals? Or do you just want to have fun with the game?

The problem is that guessing that Ken's position is a Shoryuken is way too easy tbvh, and seems the most logical thing ever. So if we only get Ken, I'll be in team HMMM still.

Have to agree with this. Of all the possible reasons to not get five characters, I REALLY don't think "there's not enough time in the direct/pre-release window!" is a good one.

They could always, yknow, make a longer direct. And character trailers take like 3 minutes AT MOST (Simon being the outlier due to his echo).

The light/shadows and blurry makes it impossible to determine if they are different or not for example the castle might be seeable if that black blob (shadow suposivly) wasn’t there

And that E3 mural is not a static image it’s a moving one so moments can be slightly different

And look it has been changed slightly in the back basicly it’s Ben getting slight updates in the background to make it look better

I’m not saying vaan is wrong I’m just saying it’s not 100% proof it’s fake

Nearly all the changes don't help the composition at all. And nearly all the changes are where characters were. That's fishy. As for why the leaker included the background art, because it initially helped provide legitimacy. Nobody thought the empty background was available. Heck it took the entire smash community several hours to even discover that an empty background was even shown at one point. Something the leaker missed. If you are trying to make a fake leak it makes sense to spend as much time making it convincing as possible. Just because something is hard doesn't mean it can't be done.

Disingenuous, but yes. Many of the smaller issues with the clouds could easily be because of the low resolution photo. But those are the only parts people have offered a reasonable counter for. The small issues.

The big structural issues have gone without a proper counter other than "they can change it."

Because there is no other counter. Those changes have occurred, there's no arguing it. It's just that to #teamreal the burden of doubt that the mural background was partially redrawn for the final version (potentially to reflect final-stage polish changes to battlefield), or that multiple versions of it exist is still less than the burden of doubt placed by the circumstances which would have transpired for this to be fake.

Your comparisons are hands down the most convincing counterpoint to the leak (to be honest I'd go so far as to say they're the only convincing counterpoint so far), so it's not that I support just handwaving them off lightly. But, the truth is I don't think it's possible not to handwave them off though as there is no explaining them away beyond the belief that yeah, things do change.
