Not really, and OmniArtsy just did a Live stream to show all of the issues that Vanrose pointed and more, and by INCREDIBLE lucky part, all of the problem and difference are of course, by luck things that are hidden by characters and would need to be painted over.
There also cristal behind Cloud in the normal banner/Empty E3 mural but the empty battlefield from the leak don't have it, there also lots of issues with waterfalls and castle...

Another thing we haven't been giving enough attention is the poorly covered up SnapChat name, he had to have intentionally upped the transparency for the name to have shown through the black. Seems like the leaker wanted us to find that disused LinkedIn.

Didn't we already note that the blank official Battlefield is different from the mural? Now we don't know how much of a difference there would be (and the apparent omission of an entire Castle is extreme) but it isn't a surefire ace.

Can someone explain to me why Nintendo would go out of their way to make an alternate background, like people have been suggesting?

Like, if it leaked, what's the point of including something to make people not believe it? When you eventually reveal the characters anyway, people are just going to go, "Oh, so I guess the leak was real anyway."

Come on, somebody duke it out with me on this. It makes no sense why there would be an alternate version of battlefield for this leak. And don't use the "the background has already changed several times!" argument, because that's been dead in the water and people have already proved that the official background has stayed the same.

SO COME ON. LET'S TALK ABOUT THE BACKGROUND ALREADY, BECAUSE IT'S THE BIGGEST THING THAT SHUTS DOWN THIS LEAK AND YOU ALL KNOW IT.

As a comic artist the only riposte I can muster is that maybe some areas of the background were morphed for compositional clarity but that is a rather flimsy argument because it's much less effort to just move characters to achieve better contrast.

It's fishy for sure.

so the tl;dr on insiders:

Most disagree: Every single one of them sticks by inceneroar being in the game no matter what
Spawn wave: Teased sora announcement on VGAs at probably game release (Unknown if final newcomer or first DLC character?)

Notably some seem to imply characters not called inceneroar are there as well, but the leak still is faked.

Spawn wave has a really good track record

as a bonus...

Papagenos source: has heard of all banner characters, including incenenroar, can 100% confirm banjo (This is a bonus because while papagenos is a nice person he may be misled)

there are a few outcomes:

1. Leak is fake, Inceneroar and probably others + sora end off the roster. Banjo may be included as well but not as solid as inceneroar and sora.
2. Leak is real, nintendo sent inceneroar confirmations to everyone to hide the final roster and prevent leaks.

We do know from the rumor mill there was likely leaker bait out there. I just never assumed Incineroar could be one. Or, Incineroar is in, and like Spawn Wave speculated, if this were real, then it would at the very least be incomplete.

All I'm gonna say is: it really speaks to the cynicism of the Smash community that people saying a roster with 3 more fan favorite characters is deemed "impossible." Even after a ballot was specifically made to gauge who the popular characters were.

I'm sure at least some of this comes from people who enjoy seeing the disappointment of "vocal minorities."

I refuse to believe somebody who went through the colossal amount of effort it took to find all of this information, make all seven of these renders, reposition more than half of the characters, create all of this instructional material and pomotional stuff, and possibly set up this complicated impersonation scheme... would at no point just find the already-empty panorama and just use that. It's an unprecedented oversight, and literally the only one in the whole thing.

This is more reason why I don't think it's necessarily an actual issue, for them to construct this entire narrative and produce all of this material but just not use an already-exisiting empty panorama that was easy to find just doesn't sit right with me. It's sketchy for sure, but I feel there's more at play here.

Disingenuous, but yes. Many of the smaller issues with the clouds could easily be because of the low resolution photo. But those are the only parts people have offered a reasonable counter for. The small issues.

The big structural issues have gone without a proper counter other than "they can change it."

I'm worried we're going to have a mass exodus of people who are really upset and mad at Nintendo/Sakurai if this turns out to be fake... people are taking very hard stances.

The Incineroar situation is currently reminiscent of Mewtwo being absent from ESRB. Does anyone remember the "Mewtwo is definitely in" (even on 3DS release night, if I remember correctly), and the "My source has definitely seen working models of Ridley, Dixie Kong and Chorus Kids"? Those things turned out to be true, of course. We got Mewtwo straight away as the first DLC. There was a working model of Ridley in the game. Dixie probably got cut (like she did in Brawl, and again this time around if we're to believe "MOTHER****ING LEAKER 2.0 THIS TIME WITH EVEN MORE ATTITUDE"), and we must all agree by now that a Rhythm Heaven character was planned for Smash 4, right? Insider info and convincing visual leaks that seem to contradict each other are actually perfectly capable of coexisting. We have precedent for that.

Similarities to ESRB could go either way: evidence that it's real, like ESRB, or evidence that someone very much in the know about everything that happened last time is going way beyond what could rationally be expected of any single human in terms of effort (and happens to work in (or be able to convincingly set up a fake arrangement of, in their own home) a suitable printing office with all the necessary software and equipment) to produce and release something just as realistic as the ESRB leak, and in such similar circumstances to the ESRB leak, the exact same number of days before release as the ESRB leak, to pull off a convincing fake leak by copying a real one.

If it's fake, whoever did it, I offer them nothing but profound respect.

That is UNLESS it turns out that GameXplain and Source Gaming have teamed up to produce the true Ultimate Fake Leak as a Halloween trick and are currently trying to double bluff us.

People keep jokingly (?) bringing up Nintendo Ninjas which I take to (jokingly (?)) suggest that Nintendo employees have contacted gaming journalists like GX, SG, Nintendo Life, etc. and told them, basically, it's real, but if you don't try to put a lid on it, we're going to shut you down. Honestly, it's very tin-foil hat, but I don't consider that possibility to be as far-fetched as what would have to have been done to fake this leak.

I've been following this thing since it burst without commenting, but writing is my thing and I needed to write about this to vent some hype, I guess. I'm more than 60% on #TeamReal. It seems so real. The only significant counterpoint in my opinion at the moment is that prominent YouTubers are no-no-ing it, but I've never had enough respect for prominent YouTubers' opinions for that to convince me (except for RelaxAlax, I mean, even if he sucks at Wild Mass Guessing).

The discrepancies in the background analysis definitely don't convince me, but maybe I need to have another look at that.

every other leak containing both Isaac and Chorus Kids have only contained them in it, this is the only leak with any other extra detail shown off to give it credibility

To add to this post, in the Golden Sun series Growth functions both as Psynergy that can be used in battle as well as outside battles for puzzles, so it's an interesting and a lot less obvious than Isaac simply using Move or any rock-based Psynergy. In addition, there also appears to be a Djinn next to Isaac (specifically Flint, a Venus Djinn and the first one you get by default in Golden Sun). It's clear that a lot of thought and research went into the Isaac picture as several major aspects of Golden is represented (combat psynergy, puzzles and the Djinn).

So... weve reached our stalemate for the time being?

The background could have been changed, but the changes seem to be in general against it from what Im seeing.

We need new material to dig up on this. Maybe Papagenos follow up report could bring something, but either way, we wait for someone to make a move. /v/ has been a meme goldmine all day but its bound to simmer down soon if nothing happens.

Oh, and cool, green thing. But it will not quell the hunger for new info...
