A very mysterious leak that can't be proven real or fake, even though people are trying as hard as they can to prove their side. Insiders going crazy due to this new leak not fitting with the information they have, but also not being able to deny it right away.
And all we can do is just wait. Wait, and hope for the best.

You know, I think this is a very fitting leak for Smash Ultimate now that I think about it.

I think Ken could be the leak bait, and if so he would be a incorrect character photoshopped into the banner, whom is again missing Incineroar and Medusa two key characters who should be on the banner.

Pretty damning evidence has been coming out both ways. Still sticking to my guns and saying it's real, but this is all very interesting.

I love how before that leak appeared we were all eager to hear what those insider knew especially GameExplain with their """totally lucky guess""" about hinting at some Characters and how they get things right magically.


And the moment there a leak everyone want to believe, people hate and harass those people because they come forward and says that the leak might be false.

Honestly, my problem with Gamexplain is that their video about the leak was pretty lazy, and its clear their actual reason for not believing it was because no Incineroar, but they didn’t want to say so in the video for whatever reason. I’m fine with them thinking its fake, but that was the laziest video I’ve seen from them in quite a long time, they should’ve presented as completely neutral instead of dancing around the bush about why they think its fake.

Of course. I completely trust @papagenos to reliably bring us information. Like I said, no disrespect to him, but his sources could definitely be lying to him in an attempt to drum up more attention for this leak.

An important lesson I think everyone should learn is any """insider""" who says "I know something about this but I can't tell you )))" is most likely not an actual insider and just wants people's attention. At least text 4chan leaks are anonymous. Please don't fall for the trap of blindly believing someone because they say they're legit and they're the uncle who works at Nintendo. They just attention and followers.

Did it ever cross your mind that maybe. Just maybe. They just don't want people to get into false expectations if that leak is INDEED fake and can only use their influence because they can't risks their sources?

Oh god damn it here we go

• Almost certaintly coincidental, there are a lot of leaks and some of them can just happen to line up.
• Lists of employees can be found for companies on Linkedin.
• Snapchat is ridiculously easy to mock up. No need to actually change a name.
• Why would they need Autocad exactly?
• I've already been over those disrepancies.
• The 'renders' are almost certainly low quality in reality.
• Why would they photoshop everyone back in rather than just... move them around a bit on the existing image?
• Wouldn't be too hard, probably just looked at the list of contractors, seen Illumination, and remembered the Grinch movie.
• The sources for images in almost all of the Grinch renders have already been found.
• Even if they did print it all out, as @staindgrey already pointed out, it'd cost 10 dollars maximum to print. It's also entirely possible they just threw it together on a stock image.
• Any evidence of the actual video?
• Again, Snapchat is ridiculously easy to mock up.

This isn't impossible by any stretch of the imagination. Not even Machievalian.

Has it been pointed out or asked why everything in the initial leak is crystal clear quality EXCEPT for the one thing showing actual characters? Even the Grinch is as crystal clear as nature on a 4K TV.

I am 100% in on this leak. That being said, there is one small point that can reasonably debunk this leak within seconds.

Even if the leak was magically debunked we still have the sources of Papa genos confirming these characters. I wouldn't put much into some "insiders" whose only argument is the absence of a pokemon character.

Not really, its just a photoshopped pic that mentioned a few ridiculous characters that are probably not in (hopefully Isaac though is because hes the best one on there) and it forgot characters that should be on like Medusa and Incineroar whom are totally in, Incineroar is the new Pokemon and Medusa is the chosen one chosen by Sakurai to represent Kid Icarus as its villain, its a no brainer they are going to be in.

Something important I cant find now, but, somebody in ths thread made a post talking about how the snapchat compression system works and how it would affect the image.
It was the reason Jigglypuff's eyes were messed up, because of how the compression system prioritizes some colors over others so Jiggly's white part on its eyes got messed.
It was on this thread, I'm sure of it, but with the speed this is going it would be hard to find.

Leakers are only true in hindsight.

Even if they were right before, never discount that they'll make stuff up to either to get more attention, or to get someone asking for info off their back.

I'm very willing to listen if Jonneh has said he's not buying the leak, his sources are incredibly strong as far as anything Nintendo related is concerned, I have no doubt he knows the full roster at this point. He even got the Ridley ball rolling before Vergeben, even if somewhat accidentally.

Not sure but judging by Verge's history, MULTIPLE people claimed Incineroar, which begs the question. How do you make fake info to catch people and spread it to MULTIPLE people? Sure, you narrow it down but there's still the matter of finding out who actually did it right? Unless everyone who heard that fake info gets ****ed over by a single person, I don't see it

There's no way you can tell me someone is risking their own job for a fake leak, and potentially the reputation of their current employer and a former location they worked at. As the man who brings home the bacon to my household, this just isnt the case that someone would do that.

As far as I know, none of the Grinch renders are actually clear at all, but they take up more space. The reason for the mural's blurriness is because it's a very small part of the picture, pieced together, originally from a live video and has been blown up in size. Certainly convenient, but I suppose that's just the way it is for now.

I find it hard to believe a conspiracy so large that every industry insider is effected by it though. That's too far of a stretch.

The evidence is their statements tied in with how many times they've gotten insider claims correct. You can't argue against a proven track record.

I'm trying not to be antagonistic at all--but I have no clue what that sentence even means. Evidence is some fact or visual piece to present, not statements or opinions. Secondly, a track record is great, but not foolproof. Unless they provide evidence (e.g., my sources say this character is not in), how do we know they aren't all falling for the same trap (e.g., Incineroar's in, so this must be fake--there are multiple ways in which even this can be true as well as the leak) since they aren't allowed to specify what their sources said.

I have no problem if a people like Blind Wave can't reveal why they think this information is false. But I also do not want to appeal to authority concerning these matters, as whenever possible, they should provide evidence so we don't have to simply "take their word for it." I will agree that everybody coming out against it, even though some have no stakes in it (unlike what some people are arguing) does make me suspect it. But I think it's possible they still can all be wrong or misguided.

Another reason why I think the "b-but the background is different!" argument is starting to lose traction is because of stuff like this.

There are parts of the picture where no character is standing at all, yet they're different.

It's very strange.
