That's what so many anti-boxers say, that they have "logic" on their side while choosing to ignore or strawman the logical arguments the box has going for it.

I'm neutral on the box theory but I think it's ridiculous how so many people are patting themselves on the back for being so smart for not believing the box theory.

Eh, most Pro-box people don't actively want it to be right, but at the same time, discussion like right now gets started because misinformation gets spread.


There are a few people that want box to be right just to 'be' right, but I think most people that believe in the box want to be wrong.



The only reason this entire discussion started was because a dumbass tried to act like a smug ass over the box being 'dead'........ when it was the wrong box.

Wait what? I'm not sure I follow your logic here. You'd rather we don't have a test smash because you don't think it'll not be as fun as the testfire? So do you not think it'd be fun for some reason? Would you rather not have a demo at all?

I meant the test smash wouldn’t work as well as the testfire. It would likely just be locked to for fun free for all’s, which are laggy as hell. It would also only be accessible to people who have bought the online, which sucks but will probably happen anyway. Last, smash is primarily a party game. You wouldn’t be able to fight friends in the test smash, so it wouldn’t give an accurate representation of the game.

I would take a test smash over no demo, but I would rather have limited time or openings like smash 4’s demo.

Personally, I think that Nintendo will probably make a demo with no limits only accessible to online users. That’s what make the most sense to me. A ton of people would buy the online just for that.

Edit: by test smash, I mean an online only demo that’s available in 5 3-hour long sessions, like the Splatoon testfire or the Arms testpunch

Ehhhh.... That Lost Painting remix isn't really doing it for me.

It's one of my favorite Castlevania songs, but it just doesn't really work as well at the faster pace/with so much energy. I think Sakurai took the "make more songs battle appropriate" mentality a bit too far. I'd have just preferred the original.

Still, any Castlevania remixes are okay in my book.

We've never had a Direct with more than 2 uniques between Smash 4 and Smash 5, I'm not expecting more than 3-4 newcomers.

It's not wanting less. It's being content with the mountain of content we already have, and will be getting through inevitable DLC.

It's more for base-game closure than pure spite.

It's because the box theory is inherently flawed because we have no idea what's on the back. Nothing implies there's only 2 newcomers left, it implies there are at least two newcomers left, assuming it's not just a concept.

Because we haven't seen the other side of the box. Nothing is written on the wall here, it's VERY likely, but it has yet to be proven "beyond a shadow of a doubt".

I just call things as I see things. It's worked out pretty well for me so far this time around. Like whenever anyone said "there's no such thing as shoo-ins" while I remained adamant that Isabelle was one.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong. I just don't think I will be wrong, is all. It all just makes sense to me.

It's great that you're satisfied with the newcomers that are in the game. Some of us haven't played a single game from a unique newcomer so far, and so can't get as personally hyped as you. It's simply bad luck, and that luck could continue, but your statement did come across as that you'd be glad people didn't get characters they're personally hyped for because you perceive them as whiners.

Honestly, a reason why I'd be fine with seeing the Box be true is to see everyone's true colors.


It'll really show who's actually grateful for the game, and who's ****ing entitled after everything that we've gotten.

He said that after the Isabelle reveal, which at that point we had just got 6 new characters in a 1 month 1 week span (would've been just 1 month if the direct wasn't delayed. If we get 4 characters in a final direct, that'll mean 4 new characters in the last 2.5 months which is cutting the rate into a third of what it was when Sakurai made that statement.
