Considering even in 50 facts, we only had 2 newcomers revealed, and in August we only had 2 non-echoes, 3-4 including Echos is a very generous guesstimate.

I don't see how that's generous...?
1 newcomer and 1 Echo is less than we've gotten at any point.
2 newcomers and 2 Echoes doesn't seem generous. Just seems possible.

2 newcomers and 2 echoes is the bare minimum of what i'm expecting. If we go over that i'll be pleasantly surprised.

And then I remembered Master Fortress. Would anybody take Master Fortress again? It couldn't be a terrible thing, right? I'd give it another try.

I never got to Fortress. I hated the ‘new improved’ classic mode with only two stocks per round instead of five overall. I could make it all the way to Master without duing once, and then he would end me repeatedly. By the time I could finally win, my difficulty ended too low.

I am a huge fan of final boss fights that use the stage though - like Meta Ridz in Brawl where he would weight down the Flacon Flyer. Or Master [insert type here] when the giant would lift the stage or the beast would rock it.

With everything else? Yeah, I consider 3-4 more characters more than generous from Sakurai. Most people would buy the game as-is, but the fact that there's apparently more is very generous of him.

Honestly, this is crazy of me, but I think we're getting 3 more uniques (Incineroar, Geno, Shantae), and 2 echoes (Ken and Shadow).

EDIT: Very least being 2 uniques and 1 echo.

My official prediction is Ken, Incineroar, Shadow, and mayyybe one more WTF character like Nintendo Labo Man or something. That'd round out the roster at 76 fighters. It could just be 74 with Kencineroar but unless the box is true I think Sakurai may have two more after the ultra obvious choices, one being an obvious choice and the other a true surprise. Whether that'll mean it's a hype surprise or not I can't say, but that's just what my gut is telling me.

Yeah, I never got to try to "classic" version of Classic mode, so I'm very excited to try this out. Personalized scenarios for each character is pretty neat, at least.

Keep in mind that we're only a little more than a month away until Ultimate drops. If they're going to reveal any more characters, then they'll likely reveal them together in one final pre-ultimate direct. 2-3 newcomers is my guess.

Echoes is Gaiden filtered through the passage of time, it retains most of Gaiden's elements, but filters out some things and replaces them with modern QOL stuff; it's also made with Awakening's engine as a ground work, just like Fates was

Thinking about it, Digimon is very similar to SMT/Persona.

A lot of the stronger Digimon are manifestations of religious icons and concepts (in some universes, they are even made by humans, Pukumon's bio* even specifically states it was made by a British Hacker).

*Pukumon is a punk-rock puffer fish.

Examples include:

• Most of the Seven Great Demon Lords (based on the Seven Deadly Sins and many bare the name of Judeo-Christian demons and fallen angels). Examples include (Lucemon and Demon for Lucifer/Satan, Leviamon for Leviathan, Beelezebumon for Beelzebub, Belphemon for Belphegor, Barbamon for Mammon and Lilithmon for Lilith and Asmodeus).
• The Royal Knights are based on the Knights of the Round Table (some are better fits than others), though one of them is "Jesmon"... basically Dragon Jesus.
• There's a group of Digimon based on Journey to the West (Sanzomon, Gokuwmon, Shawujinmon and ChoHakkaimon)
• The Four Holy Beasts (Harmonious Ones/Digimon Sovereigns in the Dub) are based on Kyoto's Guardian Deities. They rule over Digimon known as Deva (which are a Hindu/Buddhist thing, the Digimon Deva are also based on the Chinese Zodiac).
• There's a whole set of Digimon based on the Greek Pantheon.
• There's a "D'arcmon" (as in "Jeanne d'Arc, or Joan of Arc).

This is very similar to SMT/Persona (especially Persona, where (most of) the Gods and Deities are manifestations of the Human Psyche).

Strangely enough, according to Watanabe Jesmon isn't Jesus. Apparently the name is supposed to be an acronym of "Justice Edge Swordsman" and the similarities were coincidental. It kind of makes me wonder what an actual Jesus analogue would be if that Digimon doesn't count in their eyes.

Even with that in mind though, it's kind of funny to think about. For all the Pokémon accusations that a lot of people throw at it, Digimon has much more in common with SMT then it does Pokémon.

Yeah...I'm gonna go ahead here and say a Direct probably ain't happening until November at this point. I feel like if it was gonna be this month, we would've gotten an announcement by now.

I mean, It could still happen around the 31st I suppose, but I kinda doubt it. I'm calling first full week of November now. If they wait even longer than that? Well, leaks will probably spoil everything anyway by then.

Technically the second week, since the first few days come after the last few of October. Though it is certainly the absolute maximum.

I think they got something about Travis Touchdown correct, the No More Heroes game, but they've been wrong on everything else I believe; when they got the direct date right, they got its contents wrong. Still waiting on that Luigi's Mansion Kingdom DLC for Odyssey

I've also heard that their old account, Vandal_Leaks, had a lot of incorrect info.

Because they really do tend to base their info off of other people's sources, like Spawn Wave. Though, unlike every leaker, it seems Spawn knows about these rumors weeks to months ahead of everyone else.

I'm going to play the heck out of this game's online mode regardless, but please let there be a ranked mode of some sort. A good ranked mode can be really addicting. It's part of why I love Pokken so much. I should play that game more often.

But no seriously though, it surprises me how many people don't seem to care at all about gameplay. Smash Brothers isn't just a crossover, it's a game of its own. Characters aren't picked just for representing their franchise, but also because of the unique gameplay styles they bring. Oh well, I suppose we'll see gameplay discussion once (and if) a demo is released on the Eshop. We'll just have to wait.

And then I remembered Master Fortress. Would anybody take Master Fortress again? It couldn't be a terrible thing, right? I'd give it another try.

I actually really liked Master Fortress, but that's me. I really enjoy the "platformer" parts of Smash as a "platform fighter". That's also part of why I really enjoy scrolling stages even though so many other people seem to hate them.

I mean... why would it not being remixed mean anything? None of the vocal tracks from Sonic have been remixed.
