Pretty sure Toon Link's Final Smash will remain the same, since Link's was changed. I consider the Triforce Slash to be an iconic Final Smash, just like Mario's, so removing it from the game entirely seems unlikely.

Young Link might get something unique, though.

...Alright, I have ONE more thing to say in regards to Crunchii for those who still aren't sure about him. Sorry, I don't mean to drag this out since a lot of my stuff with him and my group of close friends is personal, but I just think this is the best example I can give.

A little after M&L Paper Jam was announced, a friend of mine posted a relatively clean cut of the game's boss theme by pain stakingly going through and splicing all the footage of the game from the treehouse and such without them talking over it and no sound effects. She spent almost 8 hours doing so, and it got pretty popular within closer circles of the Mario RPG comminity.

Crunchii, despite being active in our group of only 8 or so people, saw it fit to take that edit she did, upload it to his own channel as an extension referring to it as a "Clean Game Rip". Didn't credit her, refused to credit her (until we pretty much forced him to), lied to his followers about it being a clean rip from the game, and basked in the glory. That was one of the many, MANY tipping points with him that eventually led to us just leaving him in the dust and moving on. Dunno what we expected from a guy who uploaded clips of audio from streams with the voices and SFX still in tact and posts it as an "early rip with Sound Effects", but there ya go.

Everything "exclusive" he gets, he gets from someone else and touts it as his own. For views and nothing more. As Push said, the rip he got was from a Press Kit he wasn't meant to have in all likelihood. Crunchii DOES have sources, but definitely not sources who would know what's going on with Ultimate. He's an attention seeker above all else. So just try not to give him too much of it.

Sorry, this is just still a sour spot for me. Hard for me to see people talk about him and not get a bit livid for, again, mostly personal reasons. But still. I just had to make sure a few of my buds we're okay with me talking about this. Not that it'll matter in the grand scheme of things, considering I'm posting this here and not somewhere more public, but I clearly have a hard time shutting up sometimes, so here ya go.

At this point, I’m probably expecting Dixie to be part of Diddy’s FS.

If she was an actual integral part of Diddy Kong's character, even if only aesthetically (like Toad in Peach's new throws, or how Chrom/Doc Louis showed up for Robin/Little Mac's victory screens in Smash 4), I wouldn't be that upset over it. Not my first/ideal representation of her, but to this day I'm still saddened the idea of Diddy+Dixie from Brawl never happened. I know most would prefer her to be playable on her own, but something is better than nothing (even an Assist Trophy).

To be fair, the newcomer pool in this game is substantially less than it was in Brawl and Smash 4. Aside from easy to make Echo Fighters, the game so far only has 4 original (non-clone) characters added in along with one semi-clone in Isabelle. If the rumors are to believed, there's only like 4-5 characters left in which 2 are likely to be Echo's.

Which would bring the original newcomer count to about 7-8. Much less than Brawl's 16 and Smash 4's 15. Equaling or being less than Melee's 8 as well.

So Sakurai's statement was correct. Probably a way to make people not expect as many newcomers as Brawl/Smash 4.

Friend, it may be the only chance Chunky has to be in any media whatsoever.

Digimon is actualy the third biggest Bandai Namco franchise.

I mean, Fist Bump is a pretty no brainier song for them to add to Smash at this point regardless. Crunchii is just making hard calls in an attempt to make people think he knows something.

Bandai Namco owns the rights to the franchise and the Digimon themselves. Toei only owns the rights to the anime.

First, we need to stop putting Isabelle into semi-clone status. Aside from aesthetics, she shares very little in common with Villager. Same dash attack, same neutralB, similar upB. Are Lucario and Mewtwo semi-clones too?

Second, even though Snake, Y. Link, Pichu, Wolf and Ice Climbers aren't newcomers because we've seen them before, they needed to be recreated from the ground up in the Smash Ultimate engine, with brand new textures, 3D models, animations, etc. Nothing can just be ported from Melee/Brawl. They have direct references to use, so the characters kind of skip the concept phase, but past that, they take substantially more work than echoes and more closely resemble newcomers in terms of work load.

With that in mind:
