I don't know, I think he'll be better than Roy, but it'll take more than a levelled blade for him to catch up to Marth, Lucina and Corrin, who all look to still be in a good place. I'm not exactly sure his recovery will even be better than Roy's either, it's extremely linear, which is pretty bad now that edgeguarding is a thing again. We'll also have to see how Ike fares in this game after his many buffs, but my bet is on him being better than Roy/Chrom.

Least favorite Smash character?

Dark Pit is kind of my least favorite inclusion. But with the introduction of echo fighters, I've cooled down alot about him. For me now, Dark Pit and Lucina (But I don't mind Lucina myself, she's a popular Fire Emblem character. I understand that completely and I think it's even cool now that you can have a father daughter team up in Smash Ultimate) are retroactively echo fighters back in Smash 4.

Still won't find myself playing as Dark Pit more then just to collect his classic mode and/or all-star trophy or whatever else. But echo fighters just make him easier to swallow.

If you want my least favorite non-echo. It's Dr. Mario. I'm sorry, it's just that Melee nostalgia and the Mario tornado being the down+B again isn't enough for me to overlook it's Mario in a different costume xP

Well ehhh Toon Link is the Hero of Wind ;; I really like both tbh, im really glad Young Link is back but personally i would have been really sad without my toon boi!
I would have enjoyed some references to their games tho (like the deku leaf or masks for YL) but i'm happy with them anyways

Corrin, hands down (I don't care that they took a slot over your Waluigi, Corrin is super fun, and you know it). I haven't played Fire Emblem, but that doesn't stop me from loving Corrin. I usually seem to like the shape shifting characters in video games, and she (I use the female one, like most people do) is no different. Also, she probably has the most fun specials in the entire game. Dragon Fang being both a standard attack and a projectile lets it have a lot of uses, Counter Surge is the possibly the best counter in the entire game, and then there's Dragon Lunge, oh man do I love Dragon Lunge. Hands down, the best Side Special in the entire Smash series...

Also, a random thing to note: Whenever I list my Smash Wii U main as Female Corrin in account details, the image seems to come up as male Corrin. Can someone fix that, please? Thank you.

People can state negative opinions without resorting to flaming. Forums are too quick to stifle actual debate out of fear of someone taking a dissenting opinion poorly.

If people still think Roy is going to be bad, then they really shouldn't expect Chrom to rise much higher on the tier list. The lack of a sweetspot will help, but I don't think it'll be nearly enough to place him alongside Corrin and Marth.

And like you said, his Ike recovery isn't necessarily a buff. Chrom lacks a decent horizontal recovery, meaning that in most cases, he'll need to be directly under the ledge to survive. Roy has a little more freedom with his.

Also, I don't even like Fates, yet I think Corrin's a great fighter. Unique kit, nice visuals, good disjointed hitboxes, potential for mindgames...

Favorite Smash character is even harder. I don't have a single favorite.

Inklings, because I really like their aesthetic, the lore of Splatoon, and... really almost everything about the Inklings. I'm just bad at Splatoon multiplayer.

K. Rool because he's one of my favorite Nintendo villains (despite me never actually finishing a game he's featured in). Really liked how he was presented and his Smash reveal was one of the hypest things ever.

Ganondorf, another of my favorite villains. His moveset is satisfying and his new look is great. Looks to be a beast in Ultimate. No pun intended.

Sheik, because she's pretty awesome in general. I like ninjas (though Greninja doesn't make my list). I think that she is definitely one of the more interesting characters and I look forward to trying to get a good grip on her playstyle.

Luigi is just neat to body people with.


I like Little Mac despite how unfortunate he was in Smash 4. Hope he's better this time, because he was the first one from Smash 4 I wanted to try and pick up legitimately.

Donkey Kong is a blast to fight with. Always. Haha

Ice Climbers look incredible this time around.

My least favorite character to play as is definitely , she just feels incredibly sluggish and unsatisfying to play as, she only has like two or three fast moves at most, and even her slow moves don't really pack much power. Her default specials aren't noteworthy at all either, the only good thing to come out of any of them is when Kirby uses Autorectile, because that's just hilarious. She's not my least favorite character overall, but I'm not going to get into that.

Favorite depends on which game we're talking about, but across all installments I've really enjoyed and . It will almost certainly be when I can get my hands on him, his inclusion means the world to me, and luckily his moveset also looks to be something I'll enjoy a lot.

My least favorite is definitely Zero Skill Spamus, I just find her incredibly annoying to deal with and she's no fun to play against. Everytime I see one I just sigh. Doesn't help I hate her in concept already, the second Metroid character just being Samus without her suit and it creates a huge disconnect when one speaks but the other doesn't(I like silent Samus better though). She's not even an actual character, Samus is already in, why did we need a variation of her?
(Dis)Honorable mention goes to Sheik, I don't find her annoying to play against, I just find her extremely boring and the same issues I mentioned about ZSS apply to her. I'm really not a fan of "that character but with a different moveset".

I really like :ultrobin, too, both as a character and as a fighter. He's probably my most used swordfighter (unless you count ), I just like his specials and changing attacks so much.

But my personal favourite to play as is . Lightning Kicks, nuff' said. As a character, it's probably .

Said "random Link" being the Hero of Winds from the Wind Waker, y'know, arguably the third most beloved Zelda game after the N64 Zelda's...

"Added instead" is literally objectively wrong. They couldn't make a unique and interesting Zelda character just by not adding a clone.

Midna, especially in her true form would have definitely been better.. Even if she was a "clone" of Zelda.

Problem with Midna's true form is we see it in TP for about five minutes. Her imp form's a lot more recognisable and has greater potential for a moveset when combined with Wolf Link (the only case where a fourth Link would be okay, unless we're talking about a Young Link with three MM transformation masks).

As I Roy main I can tell you that what Make Roy a Joke is the blade. Playing Safe is a handicap for him Because of his reverse Tip mechanic.

Because when it comes to pure Framedata, Roy would be great. And with the general speed-up of Ultimate and the fact that Landing lag was decreased...there serious chance that he could be good...

If it wasn't for the dumb Blade.
You have a Swordman not playing with a Swordman and using his sword as a sword make it a handicap.

But now, Chrom Exist.

It's like FMA, equivalent exchange. He got a blade for true spacing while keeping Roy's raw power in exchange of a recovery.

And if it's the price to pay. I'm more than glad for it. I tell you fam. Roy's F-smash safe on shield or cancel dash F-smash without weakspot will be such a dangerous option it might be what make Chrom better than Roy by several spot.

I would be dissatisfied with her Twili form.

It would be like putting in Robin as Grima. Or Samus as her beginning power suit. Yeah, technically it works, but those aren't the forms of the characters we love.
