I recall him being a fixture of Smash 4 leaks, but as his games popularity fell off so did his Smash popularity.

Just for reference, when did the Ninka/Vaanrose leak start?
People bored out of their minds their finding stuff to argue and talk about to kill the time for more Smash news.

There is a difference, though, besides how long it's been for each character; one's a Mario(not a DK) spin-off, and the other is a Zelda spin-off.
Rumble Falls is a fun stage
-Waluigi shouldn't be in Smash until he stars or gets his own main game.
Now now I ain't saying anything. Just speculatin' like the rest of you.
It's criminal how much Rythm Heaven is overlooked but a character from that franchise has no chance getting in with the roster philosophy of Ultimate.
Sometimes I feel like the only one who thinks this--it's less about whether a character fights differently, and more if the character taken as a whole is too similar, and even if the characters are "technically not the same character." In some ways, I like straight up clones like Daisy more than [insert duplicate here so as to not offend people's favorite character]. It's weird, and I understand on some level a bit irrational given sometimes it's not consistent. Though, for the purposes of Everyone is Here, I'm fine with them coming back... this time...Here are a few.
- I actually like the Mario Bros. stage.
- #LegalizeWuhuIsland
- I dislike any and all duplicate characters...I don't mean clones, I mean cases like Doc and Mario and Samus and Zero Suit Samus. Doesn't even matter to me if they play differently. Just a personal irk, but hey, everyone is here, so I can't complain.
- Bring on more Fire Emblem and Pokémon, "overrepresentation" be damned. Celica, Merric, Caeda, Virion, Silque, Ogma, Chandelure, Marowak...bring 'em on, regardless of their chances.
- I'd really rather not have Shantae, and I'm not big on Banjo. I'd take so many third parties over those two.
- I believe Box Theory 100%
and especially the penultimate and last point--but here's my like regardless. 
Rugrats is getting a whole new season and a movie...and are also apart of the Nickelodeon’s Mario Kart rip-off...more relevancySpeaking of relevancy not video game related but Rocko's Modern Life and Invader Zim despite how long they've been cancelled are getting made for TV specials as did Hey Arnold with the Jungle Movie.

In case you didn't know, A Rhythm Heaven character was Planned for Smash 4
Simply because it is the most well known one in the West (and the only one I've played)... Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King.
Rythym Heaven had scrapped stuff, doh.
Which is why relevancy for all kinds of media as a whole is totally pointless.
Think the main thing there was that Lucas was chosen as the "Brawl veteran" and Roy was chosen as the "Melee veteran", completely ignoring the fact that Mewtwo was also a returning Melee veteran. Though it was still strange in the end to not see Wolf as DLC, seeing as that way you'd have two returning characters from Melee and two from Brawl. Not to mention Wolf's popularity and Star Fox Zero was approaching around that time.
The Ninka/Vaanrose leak started prior to E3 2014 (I want to say shortly before, maybe a week or two) when Ninka_kiwi posted about some information he had on the game alongside providing evidence in the form of modded Brawl costumes that matched new color palates within Sm4sh. Vaanrose chipped in with his side after the livestream reveal of Robin and Lucina, and would later (again, maybe two or three weeks) come to Ninka's defense by corroborating his information. ESRB came out around a month later, which confirmed the full Ninka/Vaanrose leak.
I think out of all first party characters not yet announced, Isaac, Elma, and Rhythm Heaven would be my favorite ideas. My guess is--no rumors or evidence from Ultimate itself makes it a very difficult situation, especially given with how few characters we may have left. There's even many characters I thought were shoe-ins given the current evidence that I'm now starting to doubt if they'll get in. Wants wise, Rhythm Heaven characters would bring something unique (particularly Chorus Kids, less Karate Joe--which oddly enough corresponds to some of the only evidence for RH in Ultimate), it's just hard when it comes to predictions.It's criminal how much Rythm Heaven is overlooked but a character from that franchise has no chance getting in with the roster philosophy of Ultimate.
Well, I started the series with DQ 5, but my favorite is DQ 7. From what I can tell, most people suggest newcomers start with DQ 8.
My theory (which I posted on the last page) is that they were going to make Mewtwo regardless of popularity or demand, but they missed the deadline for his inclusion in the base game so opted to make him DLC instead. Which would mean Mewtwo had little effect on their choice of Roy other than the fact that they would have picked Mewtwo if they hadn't already.
I know, but did it end up in the final game?
Karate Joe is an obvious pick too.
I still wish for a Doctor Mario stage, if we don't get Tetris.
