If we were not here to read far too heavily into seemingly normal things, what would we be doing here, really?

I mean, compared to the shadow analysis this is totally believable.

On a more serious note, it's a tricky situation, and there are three main options.

Option A is they were lying/trolling.
Option B is they had partially incorrect info.
Option C is plans changed.

Option A seems unlikely, considering they correctly leak things (like the direct). Both options B and C would warrant deflection/backing off. You either don't want to double down on erroneous info, or straight up confirm it in broad daylight. It's why Jonneh's leaks are so innocuous. If Mario Tennis Aces wasn't revealed, no one would be able to call him out on it, because the word Aces is so random.

I am so glad someone said this, Ganondorf does not need a move-set change. I think his current move-set fits his personality perfectly.

Looking back at what i put in my comment before, i feel like Dark Pit could use a revamp more than Ganondorf. Have him use his staff instead of using the same stuff as Pit.

Suppose there was a smash ballot, and you got to pick one of each of the following for the new game:
Character
Stage
Mechanic (or remove a mechanic)
Rework a character/remove a character

Maxwell
Edwin's Farm (to go with Maxwell)
A + B special move

They should have Jigglypuff's Sing sound more like it does in the anime.

And increase the range. And make it an actual recovery move.

as someone who plays Project M, Melee and Smash 64, I beleive L cancelling to be an unnecessary mechanic that only exists to widen the skill gap. There's no other reason for it to exist. However, I would welcome Wavedashing back, as I think it's a useful spacing tool that would benefit competitive play.

Yeah, I'm content that L-Cancelling is gone as well.

I personally don't care if he stays the same or not. I would find it rather strange to completely overhaul a character that's been relatively the same since Melee. But it's definitely not impossible to "rework" some of his moves. Heck, Mario got two completely different moves in Brawl (D-Air and D-Special).

In actuality, for better or worse, I think we've reached a point where punchin', kickin' Ganondorf is so much of an established Smash character, we can't really expect it to change.

What I WOULD like is a form of Ganon that actually fights like Ganon as an additional character, like trident-wielding pig Ganon, or sword-wielding Toon Ganondorf.

However, the problem with that is I would much RATHER have a completely new character, so...that kinda goes out the window for me.

...Unless they add SEVERAL more Zelda characters. Which I would be 100% okay with.

Yeah...I question whether Link is really gonna get that much new stuff when Ganondorf never has.

UNLESS you're saying that "Toon Link retains the classic Link moveset, while Link becomes BOTW styled." That's reasonable, I think.

I'm actually against moveset revamps for them, don't know where you got that from.
Reworking a character has to be subtle enough that their playstyle remains unchanged, otherwise it's just a big "**** you" to their players

breakdown is like this. green bgs are folk that i'm confident enough to say 'yeah they're in'. either their silhouette in the trailer was clear or they were outright shown blue bgs are dudes i think are sure to come back. yellows are the 'uh-oh' squad, toons that don't have good prospects. reds are all but certain to be gone come next game. pink/purple is wishlist.

you see an !, they're a newbie. you see a rotating symbol, they're returning. you see a hammer/wrench, they're a rework. wishlist doesn't have any likelihood attached to it 'cause who the **** knows what sakurai's thinking at times, so it's just that; a wishlist. also characters in the wishlist aren't gonna have the ! symbol cause they're implied to be new dummies, so don't be dumb.

(Anthony Higgs): new metroid rep and unique take. is speedy and sleek, homeboy is bulky and bangy. like an artillery kinda fighter.
(Birdo): GET IN YOU ****S. i dont care how s/he plays, just get her in.
(Doom Slayer/Doomguy): glory kills as throws, and his more sci-fi weapons as b-moves or smash attacks. plus, he's got nintendo rep.
(Eevee): a final smash in two words: EXTREME EVOBOOST
(Krystal): never gonna give you up girl. more physically-inclined staff-fighter plus some blaster tech? yes please.

(Toriel): undertale's on the switch, and sans has a gimmick that would make him super-weak. toriel's popular, got moves, and could even have codec convos with her cell phone.

so you might notice that a lot of 3rd party's on that cut list, cause negotiations are hard and who tf knows what's going on in various HQs (lookin' at you Konami). smash 4 had a crazy roster of 3rd party but a lot of it felt flash-in-the-pan. who knows, maybe ninty proved savvy and made sure amiibo allows future smash intros, who knows.

I never really thought about that. I mean, if your character gets cut, you have some hope of getting them back at some point, but with a rework they're likely changed forever.

I can't believe people are STILL suggesting that they become pallet swaps. The whole reason they are separate characters is because of the necessary differences. And Sakurai already stated he couldn't make Dr. Mario a costume because it was an insult to his fans.

He's explained this numerous times.

It's too early to tell, but I doubt any of the Pokemon characters we currently have are getting the axe. Greninja especially. He's been promoted heavily following Gen VI, which is unheard of for most Pokemon.

The only one I'm really questionable about is Mewtwo because we don't know how DLC characters are going to be treated moving forward.

What a story memoryman. So the Emily stuff was bs? Good false advertising in the title then. However, given her reply, it does seem possible she is as aware as the others behind the scenes. The Jonneh stuff was obvious, you could find that on resetera, but I guess now we know he had a direct source at Nintendo and isn't just rehashing second-hand info. And the Ryce stuff was earlier said to be from a discord chat. So it seems like Jonneh is indeed the source (or a source), and he was correct about his other stuff. Hmm.

I'm fine with Ganondorf as he is. I will admit a new moveset could always be cool. But I have my doubts it would be based on hyrule warriors. What would it be based off of then? I dunno.

Also Greninja is most likely staying. Unless I'm horribly mistaken he won that one japan poll.

I would be ok with Ash Greninja being a new final smash. It'll probably be better than his current one.
