I'm not totally convinced thats the render, though admittedly im not convinced cause its a tiny TINY image of his hand and its a blurry magazine picture so i really cant compare them beyond both being 3d shots of incineroars hand.

It says 72 characters.

But it also says 8 Echoes.


We have 70 characters as is already counting Miis and Pokemon Trainer as 1.


Yet it shows Incineroar and says we're going to get 8 Echoes, when we only know 6.

72 =/= 73.

Math doesn't add up, Chief.

4 uniques could make it work with 72 total "uniques" perhaps as in we end on fighter #72. more than id have thought we'd get but its possible.

I like this leak because they put in effort, but it's gonna take a lot more than this to convince me.

We can see incineroars hand reaching up at the bottom, not sure if 72 means 72 unique but probably not.

Probly just a fake 4chan leak but its at least trying something new with the magazine idea.

Hmmm... That incineroar hand makes it seem that Incineroar's artwork from Sun and Moon was used for inspiration

Either that or the fake leaker was lazy...
I'm kinda iffy on this one to be honest...
It's still better than most leaks we usually get

Yea while the screenshot does look ****ty, the shadow work of D.K (?) over the platform is really well done. Geno looks really small tho, haha

The logic of this leak goes as follows:


72 unique fighters

8 Echoes

108 stages.


We have 68 Unique characters up to Isabelle, and it says Incineroar+Geno.


It says 8 Echos, one 99.99999999999999999% being Ken, and the other being Shadow, most likely, assuming here.



This leak works under the pretense that there's still two unknown UNIQUES, which... would be neat, not gonna lie, but..... 4 unique character reveals in a single Direct?

At this point, I feel like the intention of this leak was to only count New characters in the "72" and to keep Echoes separate, which would give us an even 80.



The issue is, said leak didn't give us any hints about the other 2 uniques.

That's why I said "outside of Felix." I dunno, it's why I said it's not a huge "issue." It was just personally funny the way it was presented, the overly simplistic sentences, that reads more of trying to cram in certain "leaky bits" rather than something that sounds professional to my ears.

My only problem with this one was that Wii Fit Trainer was kinda obvious because it was Fitness Day in Japan or something
Also, Zeraora kills this leak
I doubt Gamefreak would allow Zeraora to be a Lucario echo
Gamefreak is very protective on how Pokemon are portrayed

that would be 6 characters total, one more than we got in the august direct... not impossible but its a lot for sure.

If we take this leak seriously (I don't, but it's fun), already the site and official sources use the count as "72". Of course, it varies depending on the source, whether they count individual Mii Fighters or not. But my guess--is that if an official source used a count, it would be like the one on the site, where echoes count and Mii Fighters count individually.

Agreed. Sakurai say reveals will come slowly.

This is a really weird thing about the numbering system.


The website both does and doesn't count Echoes, which is just asinine.

Gotcha. I must have misinterpreted what he said, my bad. I would actually prefer if we got all the announcements out of the way, mostly so we can be done with these "leaks" altogether.
