A Fire Shield won't protect you from physical stabbing damage. Not that you'd know that with PQ's dumbed down combat

At this point I just want the next Direct to open with Sakurai (and his translator) laughing for a good two minutes before taking the box and smacking it across the table, then uploading a second Mega Man song to the site. He then shows us the word "THEORY" written out in Stage Creator before deleting it right before our eyes. The camera then has an intense zoom in to his face, where Sakurai says in perfect English:

I'm still not 100% sold on Incineroar being in, or any Pokemon being in really.
I think Ken is very likely but we could have another Gematsu situation here.

The fact that Nintendo are protecting that character at all cost makes me think it's a VERY big deal.
I wouldn't be surprised to wake up with Noctis/Lightning or Squall in Smash anymore right now.

Also I realized...If the """""rumor"""" (I say this because I still don't believe that at all) about the character being Announced during the Games Awards 2018 and is in relation with his series... there is actually TWO Square-Enix games that could compete.
Dragon Quest XI for Best RPG
and...Kingdom Hearts III for most anticipated Game of 2019.

That's just a theory based on a faulty rumor, and since we don't know the nominee yet, we can't even speculate at all.

But didn't the rumor state it would be from a best of genre series? also i can't see them doing the whole dlc at gameawards because of the fact its the day before release

For me, It’s Freddy Fazbear and Chell. (Yes, I just said Freddy, don’t hurt me.)

Marina Liteyears, but I'm sure you're all bored of me constantly saying that so I'm gonna go with Phoenix Wright. I want to be hopeful but I really don't see it happening.

It's still true because ****ting on people's theories/opinions is never really justified. It's hypocritical to begin with to act like that.

Doesn't mean every theory holds the same weight, which is a different argument to begin with. But one the user was making anyway.

I mean people shouldn’t **** on somebody just because of their opinion. That’s what enforces them and causes them to keep from expanding their world view.

However, treating every opinion, even misinformed or uneducated ones, as equal is harmful for public discourse or to truth at large.

A conspiracy theory, for example, should not necessarily be given equal grounding to a theory that has years of knowledge and research behind it. There’s a reason for theories being what they are.

Hate to mention it, but consider the case of flat earth believers or holocaust deniers. While they shouldn’t be ridiculed, those beliefs need to be properly countered or at least rectified so that the proper information is being spread rather than information that can lead to toxicity.

At least, outside the realm of Smash I suppose.

By the way, can I just take a moment to appreciate and still can't believe that we're going to have another portable Smash?

We had Smash 3DS, but NOTHING of this calibur. 70+ characters, 105 stages and so much more on the go? I'd say this is gonna change the game, almost.

I think it's possible that Nintendo is keeping the SE character from leaking at all costs just out of respect for Square Enix as they own the character and how they try to keep leaks from happening, which would be the same case even if it's Geno.

He may not have said Steve, but the fanbase suddenly now places Steve in “highly likely tier” for frankly little reason.

To be fair, Minecraft content itself already places a fighter as a possibility, and Vergeben has said he heard "'possibly' a character" from his main Smash sources, though of course that isn't definite.

You want to talk about great N64 games, it's one of the best. Great music, crazy visuals, fun story, insane bosses...I hope it's on the N64 Classic.

Still not what the point was being made. Nobody should be given **** for any theories to begin with. That's not remotely the same thing as constructively proving them wrong/calling them out.

Giving them **** is being uncivil/making unnecessary claims that does nothing to actually help the situation.

They're entirely different things. Again, you're arguing something the user never said. There's no point in making up an argument for it. They never once said anything about the quality of a theory, so there was no point in mentioning it. They're calling out hypocrisy. No more, no less.

Forgive me. I should know better than trying to coin a harmless game for this thread so we can take five seconds to stop thinking about leaks.

If the word "cuts" is too negative for you, then just pick the character you like more. Easy fix.

However, the problem with assuming that we’d get more that a duo is characters is not that it’s a placeholder, but moreso that having Ken and one other would fill out the box perfectly. This is also based on Vergeben.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - my box skepticism has nothing to do with characters. I'm not expecting that 'extra characters' will suddenly get Dovahkiin playable.

My one question with this is why Ken has to be the one to fill out the box. He could, but I think it's equally likely that they left that extra space blank next to Cloud (or before Shulk). That would put the empty space at the bottom back corner of the box - which as soon as Isabelle is put in, would make the two sides match with the bottom back corners blank. What is my evidence? None...except that's precisely what the card did, when it put a blank before Ryu to match the blank after Isabelle.

Ken is probably still in because of Vergy/the picture. I don't think because of the box. Correlation does not imply causation.

It's just hypothetical as you said, and it's only the person and that person alone's decision to cut people for whatever reason they do it for. There's no harm in playing the game. If someone has beef with someone because they have an opinion on who should be cut, that sounds more like the person starting it is the odd one out for acting up over it. If it's fun to people, you can't tell them what to stop because you don't find it in the same light.

The game could literally have zero newcomers and I still think it'd be absurd to call it a port. This is an utterly insane viewpoint to take.

So naturally I think at least 10% of /r/smashbros will believe it.
