This list is most certainly wrong.


My strongest/most confident guess here is the amount remaining.
Unique newcomers are either based on something wanted widely (even before Loz whether you want to admit it or not) and the fact that a Gen 7 Pokemon simply makes sense for a new game, but isn't guaranteed.

Echos are just safety guesses.
It could be any 3 echos, but I definitely see 3 remaining.

Hope there's more, but still.

I wouldn't say Isabelle was widely wanted during the Ballot period from what I saw.

It'd probably be worse then the reaction to Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite.

Dunno about anyone else, but this poster looks equally complete and unfinished at the same time, and I love it. They way they simply just add characters and change it up leads me to believe there's plenty more to expect. Just a personal feeling though.

Additionally, the left side of the poster clearly has less characters than the right, not sure if thats currently on purpose at this moment in time.

Its funny though, who is Daisy butt bumping? Who is Villager catching (Skull Kid's fairies lol)? While many characters aren't interacting, some possibly are. Just food for thought.

Why? Isabelle literally maintained the Mii Costume / AT missing becoming playable pattern so far. Skull kid is part of the group of Mii costumes / ATs missing. If anything his chances are just as higher as ever. I honestly don't get why people are losing hope if nothing is pointing to the wrong direction, we still have reveals to come and it can perfectly happen still.

It's unfortunate, because I'm pretty sure Skull Kid woulda been talked about more often anyway past the 8.8 direct. Not that he wasn't talked about before. He's always had a ton of fans, man. Haha nothing like an assist trophy in Smash 4 to shut a bunch of people up though.

I also like the fact that a previously introduced franchise is being expanded with a new fighter.

That makes Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus and Fire Emblem the only franchises not introduced in the original to have more then one character.

If you count echos this also applies to Castlevania.

So which franchises can we expect to get a similar treatment?

Street Fighter if we get Ken/Akuma as an echo/semiclone or whatever. Same with Sonic if we get Tails/Shadow/Metal Sonic. Potentially Roll with Mega Man. Unless it's Protoman and each shows up in the others FS.

Xenoblade could get Elma before DLC. Doubt we'll get another Punch-Out!! Boxer though.

Quick shower thought: while characters like Springman, Rex/Pyra, Edelgard, Octoling and maybe Shantae are Hot DLC Picks(TM) right now, I like to think they’ll probably include fan favorite ballot picks as well for DLC that didn’t make it to base. After all, every veteran is here.

If Skull Kid and/or Isaac aren’t on base, I can see them becoming DLC, especially if Golden Sun gets a new game after Ultimate hits.

Hot take: I don’t count NEW additions to pre existing final smashes as deconfirmations, as either the new addition could be absent from the FS if they’re on the field, or the character they’re in the Final Smash of could be in THEIR Final Smash instead.

This of course doesn’t apply to constants in the FS between 4 and Ultimate. So....RIP Dunban, Riki, the other Mega Men variants, and especially Tom Nook who’s now in not one, but TWO Final Smashes now

Don't forget that they can shift people around. When they added Simon, it ended up shifting the Miis around and that's how the gunner ended up apart from the other two. I hope the final version puts her back with the two of them and then puts Tails in that place flying after Sonic
