You honestly wouldn't need more music for another Final Fantasy 7 character, they could just reuse one of the same tracks from what's already inside the game. I think that's kinda a flimsy idea to go off of.
But even outside of FF7, there's Terra, a general Black Mage, Lara Croft, Edrick, Agnes, Crono, and possibly even KOS-MOS.
There's a lot of viable characters outside of Geno, especially with larger fanbases than his and even considered more recognizable to the average player.
That's honestly why I definitely don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for us to not even get him in this game.

I recommend starting with Final Fantasy VII and then play Final Fantasy IX. VII is a bit of a "introducer" when it comes to RPGs, I feel like, and then IX will hit you WITH THAT REALLY GOOD ****.

Final Fantasy VII is iconic, but trust me dude. Final Fantasy IX is the Xenoblade Chronicles of the PS1/N64 generation. GODLIKE.

For real. Everyone hating on Isabelle needs to chill out (not here, but just the internet in general). Everyone assumed she was gonna be in anyway, so why all the salt now. Skull Kid/Issac/Bandanna Dee/Elma/Banjo-Kazooie/Geno/Whoever can be revealed during another direct or event

It's just the initial shock value, after a day or two it will be like the whole thing never happened in the first place and it will go back to the random speculation bubble until we approach the next announcement.

Frankly, the only thing I really dislike about the whole thing is the trailer itself. Other then that I really have no issue with Isabelle otherwise other then just not caring about Animal Crossing which just results in a "meh" more then any level of salt.

Yeah Monolith Soft kind of had a history of working on other projects for these companies before shifting to get more creative freedom in their work, Nintendo is just currently the company that was willing to give them some wiggle room. Their history is kind of interesting in that regards.
