So we just mentioned the music and how there's a pretty sad selection of FF music. I thought people might enjoy this topic; what should the FF music selection be if they weren't so picky over it? I'll post a list (with links!); let me know if you guys have any different feelings:
Final Fantasy 1 Medley
Final Fantasy

Take stuff from that; FF1 needs included but has a limited selection of music so it's best suited for a medley
Medley de Chocobo
Final Fantasy series

It's basically the same song in different styles, could make something interesting and lighthearted out of a pretty iconic series staple. Smash loves medleys so I figured I better include two.
Main Theme
Final Fantasy VII

J - E - N - O - V - A
Final Fantasy VII

One Winged Angel
Final Fantasy VII

Since we're representing FFVII directly, we should include some of the more memorable tracks from it, no? I'm also obviously assuming we keep the two we do have so that would be 5 tracks from FFVII in total which appropriately is more than any other single FF is getting.
Boss Battle
Final Fantasy IV

The Dreadful Fight
Final Fantasy IV
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKnd8qyX5wk
I think these two tracks are by far the most memorable from one of the most popular FFs on a Nintendo console.
Clash on the Big Bridge
Final Fantasy V
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0JnXdfoYpY
FFV only gets one because it's a lower key FF, but this is probably the single most popular piece of music in the franchise. Easy inclusion.
Terra's Theme
Final Fantasy VI

The Decisive Battle
Final Fantasy VI

Searching for Friends
Final Fantasy VI

Dancing Mad (Final Tier)
Final Fantasy VI

I limited myself to four FFVI tracks even though honestly you could take like 15 from the game and it would work out because it's the best OST in the main series by far and also the most popular FF for a Nintendo console. I think these four largely speak to what the game was and are all independently outstanding pieces. While we're at it, Terra as a Cloud echo? She can go into esper form when Limit is full; it works...
Rebel Army
Final Fantasy II

We needed something else NES, and this is probably the most memorable piece from FFII. It also fills the hole in my heart from not including Edgar and Sabin's theme from FFVI.
Man with a Machine Gun
Final Fantasy VIII

I don't want to include much from later FFs since both they're really non-Nintendo and because they stop really being the same series after FFX anyway. I actually am only putting one in, probably the best piece of music from the back half of the FF series.
Chrono Trigger

Frog's Theme
Chrono Trigger

This game might as well be a Final Fantasy (Square SNES ATB based RPG), and it also had a god tier OST. I think these two are overall the two most memorable tracks from that game.
That Person's Name Is
Bravely Default

I wasn't including newer FFs proper, but it would be unacceptable not to include the best track from what is both a Nintendo based game and the game that was the beginning of Square making games like Final Fantasy again.
I did feel kinda bad not including FFIII at all (it's just fairly obscure), and I could see a good argument for something at least from FFIX and FFX and that maybe I was just too SNES heavy in general (it's just hard to argue with how good all of that stuff is and it's all on a Nintendo platform). Either way what I have plus the two we started with would put us at 19 which I think is about the correct number?
