Not factoring in all the things he got wrong that he publicly claimed were "bad intel" multiple times but still had Ridley and Simon in them? That's kinda interesting to me that Verg changed his "source intel" multiple times and took back things he "leaked" due to bad intel but Ridley and Simon stayed the same with each of his sources. Plus Verg didn't say anything about echo fighters in advance, and didn't say K.Rool. Actually if I remember correctly ONE of his initial claims was K.Rool but he claimed bad intel on that one.

And in terms of Verg being reputable source of leaks, how's that new Marvel vs Capcom Infinite season treating everyone?

Honestly, I'm giving Verg the benefit of the doubt on MvsCI.


That game sold like complete ass and died a horrible death. Do you really think it'd be wise to work on a S2 of DLC on a game that's dead on arrival?

Technically if it's coming this Thursday it's possible that the leaker actually saw it. Which is basically what has happened before several times. But I'd still be wary, I'm not sure Pocket Edition is a SUPER out-there guess.

People more or less expected Pocket Edition would be the one to get ported to Switch.

What makes it so odd is the timing of this PSN icon popping up all of the sudden hours after this text leak. If it's up this soon that means it's official announcement is imminent. The peculiar part of this is that, at least the PS4 version, of this game is called 'Pocket Edition HD' while the leak had it as just "Pocket Edition." With a leak that's so detailed, you'd think they wouldn't mess that little bit up. Of course there's a chance the Switch version doesn't have the HD moniker, but I seriously doubt that.

Tl;dr: The leak has one leg to stand on, but it's a very weak one and it's more like a twig.

That's good to know. Honeslty i've always tried to play Yoshi in every smash game (as you probably know, i'm a big fan of Yoshi's games, yoshi's island is my favorite platformer ever) but i can't find a way to be consistently good.

Edit: Plus i find it kind of frustrating that they didn't took inspiration from the source material more, making Yoshi feeling like Yoshi from his own games (for example: the egg throw, more but shorter double jumps etc.)

Anyone could have guessed Ridley and Simon being in. They've been major requests for years, and don't even bring up the fact that Sakurai said Ridley is too big, when has Sakurai EVER been consistent? I was even guessing (though mostly hoping) that every old veteran would return, so again, it's not like he's been making crazy guesses that ended up being true like the Gematsu leaks with WFT. We still haven't seen any Pokémon and we probably won't, and correct me if I'm wrong, but he didn't include any of the echo fighters.

Okay, I see why people may not have accepted what you said about other leaks. You are here telling people it simply IS NOT true and it’s idiotic to even give credit to possibility. But that’s just it. Possible. Maybe. We’d be excited, but if you’re reading along, you’ll see we are waiting for confirmation. Not simply believing it. None of us believe it as it is now. We do in fact need more proof. Don’t worry. We know it’s probably fake. We’re just talking like a bunch of buddies in a hang out session. This isn’t a place of business where we need to be prime examples of logic. We simply won’t face any consequences other than maybe some disappointment. That’s life. We know.

And I do agree with you that any leaker could just be getting lucky guesses. But just like we can’t prove they aren’t, we also can’t prove they are. That’s what makes the scienctifc method work. Irrefutable proof and compiled evidence to point strongly to a conclusion. Anything otherwise is a hypothesis in the phases of testing.

On another note, did anyone think it was kinda cute that today's blog post suggested King Dedede has a great recovery? I guess it's kinda true if your opponent makes literally zero effort to edgeguard? I just can't see a world in which the worst airspeed in the game and a relatively exploitable up-B is even above average let alone great on the recovery front...

With the big airdodge nerfs, relatively Dedede's recovery is going to be a lot more valuable, considering he has four midair jumps, Inhale, Gordos (which could be buffed), and big disjointed aerials to give him the means to handily defend himself offstage without needing to rely on airdodging, especially if those aerials got a much needed speed buff.

I will choose to ignore the condescending laughter and say that, yes, most of those are technically safe guesses. Except Incineroar and maybe Banjo. They are all fan favorites (except worst fire starter) and they've shown they want to put fan favorites in. I really don't know why people get so hostile when I don't believe Verg...

True, but none of them are "easy". People still think Banjo, Isaac and Geno were impossible before K. Rool. People still think this. It's only now after Ridley and K. It's just a silly argument to me that people can say Simon and Ridley were easy guesses Vergeben picked after they get in lol

Actually on /vp/ everyone was already memeing that the "numale owl" would get shown up again by the "chad tiger" or whatever. "OH NO NO NO" etc. But that's probably just because of whatever board culture they have over there.

Ridley became a predictable guess after the Resetera mod stuff came out a month before Vergeben said anything about Ridley.

For the second... it's for that certain game that I went from hearing it was abandoned as of the last thing anyone had heard back around February, to multiple people that are trusted sources and have their contacts that would know, come to me telling me that they heard that MvCI is actually getting some kind of update after all.

Even they have a hard time believing it due to hearing it was abandoned around the beginning of the year. But it looks more like they took a break to evaluate it, then decided to resume development.

Information is scarce. Nobody knows anything other than it's apparently happening and may be offered as an upgrade like how Capcom did for Street Fighter V with Arcade Edition. I only had one source mention it might be an "Ultra" styled update instead, which means it could be offered like how Ultra Street Fighter IV was a purchased update, standalone, or retail release. No one knows what's being added, changed, or characters added other than the obvious suspicion that they in the very least finished up the characters that were being worked on for Season 2 which included Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Asura, Lady, Gill, and Rashid. Though I heard back in January that there was push for including Vergil, specifically in place of Rashid possibly. So there is that all to consider from back then.

Whatever is happening with it this time around seems to be more secretive than ever. As I said before, I don't know if this will be revealed at EVO or not. Only that it seems to be happening since so many people have heard and are hearing about it. I've sat on this information since after SDCC. What's funny is how I and others took the game's future as being dead by nothing being said there. Then within a few days after, all this talk of an update actually happening came pouring out my way.

We'll see what happens. Especially at EVO if it's done there. But it's become impossible for me to ignore.

Although I predict Skull Kid as a fighter, he can easily be a boss. He only gained traction after Loz mentioned him but he's become incredibly unreliable now. I don't think he got that much votes in the ballot because of his Assist Trophy status.
