Okay.
Which characters do you guys feel will play the same as their previous iteration? We can usually derive this from: A) the sum of various trailers which reveal enough of a character's moveset/properties to conclude that, or B) the character was playable in the demo and their properties were determined that way?
By process of elimination we can determine what characters we can expect more of the same from, characters with some new properties, and characters who are still a big question mark.
My biggest interest is the latter, since speculation on their changes can promote a healthy discussion.
From what I have seen, no character will play the same. The changes to the game engine alone will ensure this is true to an extent across all characters.
Shield and dodge mechanics
Less landing lag and jump squat frames
A percentage increase in 1v1 damage will benefit powerful attacks slightly more than others.
Shields are impassable.
Zelda has been changed in many ways, even has a kill throw.
Ganondorf...yep
Fox has a lot of changes and people aren’t sure how to feel. Most seem to hate it.
Mario cannot up tilt people 7 times in a row(not 100% on this)
Ridley is wayyy better than last game.
Olimar now grabs with all available Pikmin and we have no details at all on how that changes their properties during grabs and throws.
Roy can now switch direction with his Flare Blade at any point(or points) in the charge.
Pikachu has a new nair, down air spikes, folks say he is beast.
Pichu f-tilt confirmed to trip opponents in the direct and his/her intro vid.
Wolf was stated to have been overhauled and we can see in his intro video that his nair is like Fox now, instead of his aerial somersault.
I don’t see anyone playing quite the same. Maybe similar, but never the same.
