There were only two things I liked about the Subspace cutscenes:
Give it time. You start with little and end up with much. The game heavily rewards exploration. Don’t worry about linearity too much. Just explore and enjoy.

I would assume reanimating scenes to change characters takes time and that's why it wasn't used as much as it could have been.
I remember the time I learned about FEH, I thought it was soo cool.
Yahtzee Croshaw considered it descent, which basically means its fantastic by everybody else's standards.
Yeah that's understandable but Snake had the best ****ing cutscenes.

Hollow Knight started as a nice game for me and ended up as a 39 hour foray of glee.

Maybe, if they opt to have any cutscenes at all, it’d be better to have them be in the game engine and use mostly characters’ existing animations.

My guess would be Geno's current status as the poster boy of speculation and the next Mario rep puts every other potential new Mario rep on the back burner, causing him to not even be talked about.
Which shocks me considering that Sakurai added 3 Fire Emblem reps in one game.
Yeah, the ENTIRE game is dark. You will appreciate it much more indoors or docked. I also have a pro controller and ....my god. The Switch pro controller is rant-worthy treasure. But I’ll save everyone those 15 paragraphs.
And that still doesnt take away from the fact that Toad is still the most prominent Nintendo character to be completely overlooked (or so we think).

He added 3 and brought back 1. To be fair though, 2 of those were clones. Irregardless, keep in mind people are tying to be as conservative as humanly possible with how many chars we're getting, considering Sakurai's comments, despite echo characters (like if Paper Mario could be an echo I'm sure no one would have any doubt he's getting in)

Mario doesn't really add many new cast members per game, though. FE Awakening was a series rebirth, and Fates was simply timing. At this point, if you're looking for Mario characters, you'd look at Waluigi, Captain Toad and King Boo as the most likely candidates.
