It’s not a “rule” it’s a fact of how animations and skeletons are rigged to models. This isn’t a subjective opinion, it’s a fact of game design.
Except Ganondorf, Pichu or Young Link were not the same proportions as Falcon, Pikachu or Link in melee. It's a fan-made rule.
Melee clones are not the same as Ultimate echoes. Echo Fighters need about the same proportions as the original.

If Gothitelle actually gets in, that would be what affirmative action looks like.
To be fair the Gematsu leak also had Greninja written down simply as "Pokémon from X/Y", which is likely why all these fake leakers are doing the same. That was very very early information though, I don't think we'd get a leak from so early in development when we're this close to release, it'd have been leaked before we even got the initial teaser trailer.
Not that many... imagine gothitelle is echo, but no dixie kong. Or no shadow. Or no isabelle. Or no black shadow. Or no impa.I do wonder how many people would start liking Gothitelle if it does become a newcomer?
I remember the people from the Leaks thread would go back to talking about Palutena after a new leak is shot down.
Reiterating that isn't gonna change the fact that characters like Pichu and Young Link aren't echo fighters. Lucina's proportions matches Marth. Dark Pit's proportions matches with Pit. Ergo, they are echo fighters.

It's cool to see how all those characters are finally in the roster
I feel like I have a good understanding of what an Echo is, but I can't quite put it into words. All I know is that an Echo doesn't have to function the same way as Lucina or Dark Pit. There can be some notable changes, such as Chrom having a completely different move from Roy.
He has a chance, but I'm doubtful we'd get a western third party, especially one owned by microsoft. Idk my gut just says no.
I don't think anyone knows, the first day of Gamescom is media only, but it'll be open to the public tomorrow, so we'll see soon enough.
I believe Source Gaming said it was the same demo as last time.
As someone who would love playable Gardevoir... I actually want her to show up as a Pokeball ASAP. My higher brain functions say it was a lucky fake but my hope and confirmation bias are clinging to it. It's like trying to take a kid to their second day of school and they've dug their nails into the doorpost.
I don't think it is, I honestly think that's the only real rule. There's a reason Lucina is taller than she should canonically be, same with daisy. I'm no game dev so if someone else wants to step in but I assume changing the proportions would mess with the animations and it would take more work and time to fix that.
The longer it goes on the more hope you have...although for some it is better to be disappointed early rather than "strung along".

Reminds me of the Ridley boss tease. We had to wait six months before we finally got an official confirmation that the shadow was indeed a boss and not a character.
To be fair, it's not like those height differences are really that major. With a game like Smash, it's hard to show some variation with the heights between human characters when you already have to scale up tiny characters like Pikachu, Pichu, and Kirby and scale down big characters like Bowser, DK, and Ridley.
She should really be shorter than Robin at least though, she's taller than male robin which looks so strange.
Also, why add a gen 3 and 5 pokemon over a gen 7 one? it really doesn't make sense, and adding 2 pokemon newcomers would be ridiculous.
It's a strange feeling, too. Hoenn and Unova are my two favorite regions, but while Gardevoir makes a ton of sense for a Hoennese Pokémon character, having the Unovan Pokémon be Gothitelle over the more prominent choices (the starters, Zoroark, Genesect, Victini...) or the fan favorite choices (Chandelure, Haxorus, Krookodile, Golurk...) would just feel...hollow. Almost insultingly so, haha. Like "we wanted to represent all the regions, but your favorite region was deemed low enough priority for a low-priority, low-popularity echo at most." Obviously the thought process wouldn't actually be that, but still.
Same. I don't believe it at all and I think it's weird that so many people do, but I will 100% admit I was wrong if it were true, because come on, who could predict that.
The build isn't the e3 one however it is listed as event 2018/06 so from June. Plus it had all the same stuff available.

Talk just resurfaced because of Gamescom. People are questioning whether or not there'd be a new demo, with some joking that if there was, someone could "steal a demo kiosk again" as a tongue in cheek reference to the Gothitelle stuff.
I think my biggest problem with Gardevoir has less to do with the character choice and more to do with Gothitelle as an Echo being the main reason why she was chosen.
Can't really explain that. Making Lucina a tad bit shorter wouldn't change her that much.
