It's fine to hope for his inclusion; what not okay is twisting perception and reality of what is actually happening such as Microsoft being buddy buddy with Nintendo when it's literally only Minecraft who was multi platform before Microsoft purchased it. It seems to me like people either lack the context of the Minecraft situation and then believes Microsoft is actually friendly with NIntendo or attempt to generalize the whole situation without actually grasping how business and PR works. Microsoft making Minecraft exclusive would have caused a firestorm considering its incredibly popular and was multi platform. From a business perspective; it's simply bad to commit to that action.

Also, it seems more Sony won't play ball, which is why Microsoft and Nintendo agreeing to Minecraft cross-play seems like a thing. For Phil Spencer, Sony not wanting to team up with Microsoft is an easy way to say "Hey, I don't mind some Nintendo-related crossover stuff" with his statements. It's great PR and makes the company look better. So take what you can, really.

But yeah, I think people read a bit too much into it. Though to correct something, Minecraft Switch actually does have a Banjo and Master Chief skin as well as the Halo Mash-Up Pack. Besides that, we did get a Nintendo system B&K game after Microsoft owned the series. Basically, I do think they might be willing to team up outside of Minecraft, but people are making it sound like it has a super good chance of happening with little evidence to suggest that. What we really seem to have a good chance of happening is Minecraft content in Smash at this point, but anything else is way up in the air. Though I do think the ballot can still help Banjo's chances. Not to say it will.

And another suggestion from Vergy that another incredibly obvious character may possibly be in...I'll believe it when I see it. I was always surprised Ken didn't come with Ryu as a Koopaling-style Alt costume, so I'm not too surprised. Still, I want Tails in in some fashion.

Yeah; my comment was also directed at everyone talking about Microsoft x Nintendo thing because of Microsoft with that somehow correlating with BK when the specifics and intricacies are entirely separate. People also seems to not know when someone is doing PR talk along with what's really happening with businesses, competition, and profits.

I can bet money that a lot of people think a CEO is all powerful when a CEO can get kicked out of his position by the Board of Directors. Even I didn't know that until I watched Ironfist.

Let me stop it right here. Just because Phil said he would be ok with Banjo in Smash does not mean Nintendo is okay with it. Microsoft owns Banjo and ever since obtaining his rights has exclusively been on Xbox ever since. Nintendo would have to okay with having to pay a Direct Competitor and not even having any future BK game on the Switch. Microsoft would either have to make him multi platform which I honestly doubt will happen. You do know CEO has to also consult with their stockholders (Board of Directors??) too who also vote on things.

Don't say but Minecraft either. That's literally the only thing they've been partners with and people are acting like they so cool with each other. Minecraft was already accessible on different platforms BEFORE MICROSOFT bought them out. It would look incredibly bad to shut out the multi platform for Minecraft . People need to stop reaching so hard about this Microsoft x Nintendo collaboration or whatever. It's the truth.

Totes though I'm 20. BUT my family was not very wealthy so in 2002 all we had was an N64. It's safe to say I dug into DK64, Ocarina of Time, Smash 64, Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing, GoldenEye 007, and a LOT more for a good first year of my gaming life. I was 4 when I decided Smash was my ****ing jam, and then got Melee the year following and have gotten every Smash game since on launch day. Also, the reason I've always been more of a DK fan rather than a Mario fan is because, well, that's what I grew up with. My cousin had a Playstation and a SNES so I played Metal Gear Solid, Spyro, Crash, and the oldschool beatemups, and of course the Mario, Castlevania, Super Metroid, and DKC games over there. It's safe to say that my cousin had a big impact on my latter day loves. Including Resident Evil 4...

There's a reason I'm so into 3rd parties. They're a big part of my childhood and I love the idea of having ALL the characters from the games I grew up on is a big ****ing deal to me.

You have to understand that one of the game was already being developed before Microsoft purchased it and the other was initially going to include DK characters.The game started development around 1999. Microsoft purchased it in 2002. Microsoft also did not compete with Nintendo in the portable market. So there was no reason for them to shift. I was also comparing the Xbox within it's own category (home consoles) but I can understand your semantics.

I concur. Though I think she might still be playable, though I doubt as an Echo since all the other ones have a good reason to be one. She isn't like Villager at all beyond the fact they share a kind of similar body design. They don't do nearly the same thing, or have something tying them together beyond their series. All the other ones have something notable so that they make sense as an Echo. None feel like "for the sake of it alone".

Though again, don't forget Banjo is a costume in the Minecraft Switch version. One intended to "appeal to n64 fans". So it's not entirely the same thing as you're making it. It's clear that Banjo being Rare's mascot still has some relevance, though not much.

Why would everybody believe any character could be made playable? That's silly. Everybody has different opinions on fighting potential. There's nothing wrong with that.

There's no point in getting up in arms about it and it's better to ignore an opinion you simply don't like. There's nothing to even prove. You're exhausting yourself over nothing that matters. Whatever happens happens. If she's playable, she's playable. If she's not, she's not. It doesn't matter either way, honestly.

Basically, don't worry about opinions that don't match your own. It's never worth going crazy over. It'll just stress you out when it won't matter regardless.

Yeah, Banjo kinda has an amazing OST. Grant Kirkhope is like the John Williams of video games. Granted he doesn't have a lightsaber, but if Conker had any more than one good game I'm sure that light saber fantasy could've become reality through Banjo's way more inappropriate friend.

ken seems very likely but i wouldn't just forget akuma just yet. there still is a very constant theme of adding characters villains where feasible. we dont know if thats a roster choice or a story decision but its clearly happening. one of the two is getting in much for the same reason daisy got in easy to animate and create and a well-known fan favorite.
