While I’m not a competitive player, I do know why stages are commonly banned, and some of those include:I never saw Castle Siege in competitive before. Gonna make an even extended list:
- WarioWare Inc.
- Find Mii
- Magicant
- Gamer?
- Paper Mario?
- Rainbow Road (if its in lmao)
- Reset Bomb Fortress? (I could see it if no hazards mean Viridi doesn't actually whip out the bomb)
- Wily Castle
- Umbra Clock Tower? (it's counterpick/banned, does it even have hazards?)
- Halberd?
- Wuhu Island (it's counterpick/banned)
- Mushroom Kingdom U
I'm not competitive geek when it comes to stage bans so you can argue with me on these.
- Large stage making it easier for a player to circle around the stage to avoid their opponent. Stages like Reset Bomb Forest and Magicant could have an issue with that (and note that this is the reason why they don’t use, say, Big Battlefield.)
- Solid teachable surfaces creating “caves of life” that prolong the match artificially. Some of GAMER’s and Umbra Clock Tower’s randomly selected layouts have this issue for example.
This is nowhere near a full list, but, just a couple things to keep in mind.
Edit: But overall, we don’t know how hazard toggle affects most of these stages, so we should reserve judgment until we can test them.
