hell yeah i love it when almost half your series is just clones
Let's agree to disagree.
My problem with Fire Emblem is the fact that only 2/7 do something that isn't using a sword, but they still have a sword even if some of their moves don't include it (oh and counter being in 6/7 of them). The problem with Fire Emblem I think isn't the size alone, not even the fact that people have blue hair because that's just a thing to expect in anime-styled games. The problem is that there's not a lot that's new in terms of not using a goddamn sword and not being a clone (
man poor chrom, a clone of a clone is the worst outcome to be the first of). I think :ultrobin is a great character because he has actual mechanics closest to his series by far of any other character, that's a true homage character. Even if I'm not the biggest fan of Awakening, that's 10/10 addition (and he doesn't have a counter).
People aren't sick of Fire Emblem for having so much Fire Emblem, people get sick of Fire Emblem for Marth #4 showing up.
That's why I'm a big advocate for Hector. I don't want him and his axe-loving self because "muh axe!" or "muh weapon triangle!", it's because of a few things:
1. FE7 is a big historical point for the series since it's the first of the game series to reach the West.
2. Lyn is already out, and Eliwood is just... why?
3. Axes are
cool something that has never been fully utilized in a moveset (unlike
)
KMDP
beat me as I was typing this so I'll give an example:
These are easy to implement if you use all axe users as a basis rather than what a single unit in the game has done, because it's just easy and who ****ing cares, unless you're Ryu you're not gonna be 100% to your character.
