So, question, if characters have to keep getting killed (Like Mario and Luigi) who and how would die in a trailer for your most wanted newcomer?

So there's a small segment for Black Bull And Falcon to fight and they recreate the Falcon Punch scene... but then Deathborn comes in and energy spears both of them to death into the void.

Let's not pay too much credence to information in an article trying to interpret things from a guy who gets all of his information from people who may or may not be people who actually have information from overhearing someone who might have been a primary or secondary source.

This is like... sixthhand information or something ridiculous like that haha

Yeah, as much as I want Isabelle (she's literally the only thing I want in this game that we haven't already gotten), I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. People can say anything they want on the internet and claim it's true. Though I personally do believe Vergeben is telling the truth, his sources may not be 100% accurate. So just because he heard she's an echo and that a Minecraft representation is in the game, doesn't mean both or either are true.

Dixie still did the exact same thing as Diddy, except she could hover. That was the only mechanical difference.

Not saying she shouldn’t be unique, but she was not very different from Diddy. Even DK wasn’t very different.

Either way works in this case. Hope for the best, but I disagree Dixie was special other than her grabbing with her hair(which is just another grab), Attack with her hair(same effect as Diddy’s cartwheel) and hovering, the only unique thing about her mechanically.

Again not saying she couldn't work as an Echo Fighter, only that it doesn't fit in with how Sakurai adds characters in Smash (Sakurai wants them to feel like "the best" or "most iconic" versions of themselves).

I just don't see it fitting, especially with how the Echo Fighters look now. If Echo Fighters get a bit looser I can see it happening however.

I get why you or anyone would disagree or have a different interpretation of the situation though. It makes perfectly logical sense.

Well, how does K. Rool enter the stage in the DKC series? That's a good place to start.

As for Simon and Richter... ask someone like @SHSL Jedi.

If they realllly wanted to, they could have Simon enter via the Tornado from Castlevania 2, as Simon used it for transportation in one ocassion.

As for Richter, his entrance could be a reference to Rondo of Blood's Stage 0:

Does Smash really warrant a Top Tier character Echo with better / more safe recovery options?

Ask yourself that before you suggest a Dixie Kong Echo.

She would require tweaks as not to become overpowered. Much like I believe that Dark Samus will be compensated somewhere for her having a regular roll and Chrom will also probably be slower (in movement speed) than Roy because his sword will work like Lucina's.

I mean Diddy + Dixie's hair for moves as longer range just sounds busted from the get-go. I still can't understand how they were originally planned as a tag team character.

Like... that just sounds like dancing with two left feet, because you'd have to limit both of them. On top of that, imagine having to fight 2 Diddys at once in Brawl or Smash 4.

That would make Brawl Meta Knight look balanced.

Could it be that the golden-haired boy is finally back? Well, we can't say for sure, it might just be a reference to remind us of the nostalgia, but if it's true that Isaac is in game, then I hope Golden Sun will come to Switch!

Anyone thinks that the SNES Mini could be related to the newcomers we are getting?

I mean, right now, 4 of these games can be linked to 4 newcomers, these being:

Super Castlevania IV (Simon), Donkey Kong Country (K. Rool), Super Metroid (Game that made Ridley popular), Castlevania Dracula X (Richter).

So, every real newcomer besides Splatoon have a game in this console, including one echo.
(And don't forget, this console have Super Mario RPG... Geno could be next...)

Dracula X wasn't on the SNES Classic/Mini though, only Super IV.

Although, come to think of it, there was that NeoGaf Terra in Smash rumor, and FFVI (FF3) is on the SNES Classic.......

The biggest red flag for the Neogaf leak is that it claims that Galacta Knight is an Echo.

When we have a Galacta Knight color palette for Meta Knight added this game.



If Samus lost Dark Samus' color palette due to a readability issue between the two characters in a 1v1, why would they give Meta Knight a Galacta Knight color only to THEN add Galacta Knight on top of it as an Echo?

Amaterasu would appear in the middle of Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl's turf war, calling a truce Inkling Boy ink turns orange and both of them attack Amaterasu. Amaterasu flash steps pass them, while paints the lightning symbol on them, killing them both with a Thunderbolt. Then Palutena and Bayonetta would 'introduce' themselves to the new goddess in Smash.

The SMT1 Hero engages with a Pokemon battle with Red, summoning his Jack Frost against his Pikachu.

Of course, Kazuya comes from a very different game than Pokemon, so he commands Jack Frost to freeze Red solid in a block of ice. In Pikachu's confusion at what had just transpired, Kazuya football punts him into the sun.

As a post-trailer gag, we see a beaten up Kazuya trying to bribe Mewtwo with cash money in joining his team

So I just wanna point out, but this was definitely intentional:

I didn't pay much attention to it on first watch, but I did notice immediately that the background had changed from its usual spot, and it did feel a bit weird since I've been so used to the usual angle. I mean, this is still obviously Sakurai's office, but it's from a different angle.

I think even back to Brawl days, we've ALWAYS had the same angle, the same exact angle of his office. So, he definitely took the time to change things up to try and tease us, and the eyes do immediately go to those two brightly colored chairs, so I do think they were intentionally set up on purpose.

Now, what this all means? Who the **** knows. But Sakurai is certainly trying to tease us here.

Personally, the colors of the chairs immediately make me think of Rayman. And I know this was pointed out before on here by someone else, saying it was the two fairies from Majora's Mask, hinting at Skull Kid. It could also be the two main color schemes of two separate characters. Which, if that's the case, yellow could possibly mean Isaac, but then I have no leads on purple. Who knows, but I know for a fact, this was intentional, it's definitely Sakurai teasing us and dropping some subtle hint.

I'll leave you guys to figure that out. Personally, I can't not think of Rayman when I see those two chairs, and the Twitter image from a couple days ago, also felt as a teaser for Isaac. So if I was a betting man, I'd put money on Rayman and Isaac showing up as total newcomers next direct. Alongside some echoes, most notably being Shadow for sure. It's a pity, cause we haven't gotten any hints that point toward Banjo as of yet, but I suppose that might be a hurray for Rayman fans. Congrats if this pans out. I suppose we'll know for sure come Octoberish. But I just thought I'd point that out, I know it's been discussed, but after watching some reactions to the direct, it really stuck out to me how jarring the angle change was. I guarantee you, next direct, we'll go to the usual angle.
