The Princess hint is supposed to be for Skull Kid? But... Has Skull Kid ever even interacted with ANY princesses? Zelda herself doesn't even appear in Majora's Mask

She cameo'd in a flashback which teaches players who skipped Ocarina of Time the Song of Time.
But it sounds like it could cause Stretch Armstrong to pull a muscle.

Honestly, we need more girls in this game. Most of the characters that have been revealed so far are mostly men, and Sakurai knows that girls play Smash just like guys do. The male to female ratio right now is, like, 70/30 and I think it should be closer to 50/50 personally. But maybe I'm just being biased

Nah, you're right. I'd be pretty excited if one of the the next few characters is female.

So far we've gotten Inkling (F and M).

Simon/Richter (M), Chrom (M), Dark Samus (...), Ridley (M), and K. Rool (M), so, I'd be pretty excited for anything.

Can somebody explain why Isaac would be a good fit for Smash? I've never played Golden Sun but I can't imagine him being significantly different than another swordfighter. There's only so many things you can do with swords, and most of those things were done by Brawl.

Isaac's more than just a swordsman, he's an Earthbender too (and like Nethermoosen said, he can summon giant hands through telepathy magic).

It was probably talked about while I was asleep but there's an update on that Neogaf post (NeoGaf is still alive?)

Dark Samus has the EXACT SAME proportions as Samus, that's why she works. Isabbele not only doesn't have the same proportions as Villager, but none of their moves fit her, you can't have her use Pocket, drop a bowling ball on someone or spinning like with their NAir, it simply doesn't fit her character or model.

Wait, Isabelle can totally use Pocket, everyone in AC potentially can.

As for the rest, well, Kapp'n shouldn't be driving people to their doom but he did anyway.

Yeah, the only new females we have are Inkling, like you said, and Daisy. And Dark Samus could be male or female, I'm not really sure. If he does give us any girls, it'll probably be: Isabelle, Elma, Impa, maybe Viridi... and I don't know who else. All the other predicted characters are guys, for the most part.

I wonder if the Ballot actually has anything to do with it and not just characters that have had a strong following for like a decade and some change.

Don't get me wrong, ballot is definitely the easiest explanation, but, besides the echos and Inkling (the main character of Nintendo's relatively new, very popular IP)- Simon, K. Rool, and Ridley all have that "decade-long" popular backing behind them. As does Geno, tbh, but who knows about him.
Other characters too (I swear Skull Kid had a following) but they probably didn't have nearly as much as characters such as Simon, K. Rool, and Ridley.
Isaac, I think, had/has a huge following too.

With all that said, I would be happy if he wasn't a real bad assist trophy and was instead a story mode boss or something. Being a fighter on top of that would be cake to me.

I'm fairly convinced that they are mostly looking to the Ballot/what is requested in these recent years rather than giving us characters we have been requesting for decades. While Ridley, KKR a Simon had support for years, it was extremely strong, maybe stronger than ever, during the Ballot, so they have got a nice placing in it for sure. Also it would be quite unwise to just follow decade old requests, especially if they haven't been repeated in the years, simply because it is possible that whoever made those requested 15 years ago might even stopped playing video games.

For now I'm sticking with the mindset that the fan requests are from the Ballot, not from what was wanted for Brawl or Melee. In fact all the characters they have added so far were huge during the Ballot/Smash For era, and we have yet to see a single one who wasn't but was during Brawl or Melee.

But yeah, in all seriousness I think he can have a chance someday, given that he was a big icon in the 90s to the point that his gun made a cameo in Donkey Kong Country 2 (a proven big-name classic). Only issue is his IP rights are kind of in limbo right now, so he would need a lot of support to aid him.

Besides, he still has to prove to Cranky that he's not a "No-Hoper".

In fact, for a SMRPG Assist Trophy, just have classic Geno, Mallow, Mario, Peach, and Bowser come out of it and do a move from SMRPG (For instance, Bowser's chain chomp attacks)

Pre-rendered CGI and all? Sounds neat, actually.

I get Lucas was the exception to the Japan only rule as Mother 3 came out just shortly before Brawl but??? Sablé’s game is also pretty old I think, from the SNES days iirc?

Me too! I'm in the minority here, but I actually want Gothitelle more than Gardevoir. Don't get me wrong, I love Gardevoir, but I like the Gen 5 Pokémon better than the Gen 3, and that goes for Gothitelle too.

So that's about 12 characters that are uniquely female. And then the other 40-ish are uniquely male. But, you know, I don't mind if it's all male characters as long as we get Isabelle. She's all I'll ask for.

So how do you see the rest of the information being revealed? Small segments in a couple directs before launch? Think they'd do a second smash direct if there's enough info? A mini smash direct perhaps?

I don't know that there's enough information left to reveal to warrant a whole other smash direct, as they've basically had 2 so far. I think they'll have small segments in Nintendo directs, which I think there will be 2 more before release. They could do a mini smash direct, but that's a lot of focus on just one game.

It predicted Richter Belmont along with King K. Rool and Dark Samus.

Though, a point against, it missed Simon. I could be explained by test code but there's no true way to disprove it until we see Gardevoir, Pokeball or character.

Worst case scenario, Gardevoir simply got Isaac'd and we're left hanging forever.
