I think the stars are aligning for an Ashley reveal. I believe loz saying that there will be a Direct of some kind in August that will mention new Smash modes and stuff like that and I think we will get Ashley there. It could potentially be on August 3rd which is a heavily rumored day for some reason.

There are a couple of reasons as to why I think Ashley is next. We just had WarioWare Gold released, Ashley is perfect as fighter no. 66, and we just had the western favorite in Ridley revealed so it makes some sense to reveal the Japanese favorite next.

I don't even support Ashley, I just think she's incredibly likely as the next fighter.

I think you might be reading too much into things. Character reveals almost never line up with new releases, I doubt Nintendo would purposely try to get a witch to be fighter no. 66 (if anything, they'd try to avoid it), and there's no hard rule that a NA favorite has to be followed up by a Japan favorite (see Little Mac).

Not to say it wouldn't be cool if it lined up this way, but I think we could just as easily get a random unprecedented Ashley reveal in September or November, assuming she's playable.

In that thread, he also comments he's heard strong indications of a Heroes vs. Villains theme, describing that as "something that's been floating around." Which makes me think...remember when the Imgur rumor, full of bizarre character choices like Porky and Goroh as part of a Heroes vs. Villains theme, came out, and multiple well-connected mods and users here and on ResetEra wouldn't immediately dismiss it as garbage (before someone who works at a third party company said he knew some of its newcomers weren't in)? I'm willing to bet they, too, heard about that theme way back when. And if it's legit, I do think it's as close to a K. Rool confirmation as you could feasibly get, unless they just go out of their way to have villains who aren't him.

Maybe they'll finally put the one true DK rep in.

I completely agree. All of this on it's own means nothing. I was just saying all of this put together makes me think she's a little likelier to get revealed right now than any other speculated newcomer.

I think Ashley does seem to be likely along with Shadow being an echo character out of the list. Although I wouldn't rule out the likes of Isaac, Saki etc.

After Sakurai's comment on not expecting many new characters, I don't see why anyone would feel optimistic about obscure characters like Porky and Goroh beating out more relevant and more popular characters.

That post was referring to a statement made by loz18.

No word on Dixie, but there's strong indications that the "theme" of the game is Heroes vs. Villains which may hint at K. Rool as a newcomer but that is not confirmed. That's just something that's floating around. Nintendo has been more strict and secretive than usual lately.

Also! I think one of the clues loz18 gave us is that we'll be seeing heroes vs. villains match-up in Smash Ultimate! Meaning that we could essentially get another villain fighter reveal at the alleged August direct! Along with a possible new third party fighter (Given that we didn't see one get revealed at the E3 Direct!

Although I could be completely wrong about all of that and they might throw in something unexpected or something like that!

I think it could on the 9th that we'll get a Direct and then a reveal. It's possible that Ashley could revealed in August, but I feel like she might be revealed in October instead, and either Isabelle, Elma, or someone else might be revealed in August, it's just how I feel.

I've heard that Ashley is popular in Japan but what are their exact feelings of her?

Do they think WarioWare is long overdue a new character? Do they think she has incredible moveset potential? Do they think that Smash needs better representation of not amazonianly tall women? (Giant woman plays in the background)

I don't want Ashley at all. She would be one of two characters I don't want included in Smash as fighters along with Wii Fit Trainer.

I get the everyone is here thing. But Lucina and Dr Mario should be alt costumes 100%. I'm fine with fighters like Pichu because they're different characters.

Paper Mario is a literation of Mario I think would be really cool and is still relevant unlike Geno or Krystal.

I want Sceptile for the Hoen rep in Pokemon. And RayMan I think he's a cool guy.

Also please make Falco good again Sakurai.

Anyway for those who don't want Simon Belmont we'll just listen to some of Synoathu of the night's music and then tell me you still don't want Simon Belmont lol. Would be really cool having Richter as an alt costume.

Keep an eye on Ike I've analysed his move set and he's potentially extremely good this smash I'm fairly sure he was made this way so chrom can fit in as an echo fighter.

There is Saki Amamiya, Phosphora, Kat & Ana they have a good chance of getting in, but Ashley would most likely get in before, or in place of Kat & Ana, who I think would make a good Ice Climbers echoes fighter if they made it in.

I can't help but think even Mona would take priority over those two somehow, but we'll see what happens. On a related note, I wouldn't mind if Jimmy T. got in over Waluigi, at least we'd still get another character with a funny nose.

I'm so confused with loz18. He tells us that the "Heroes vs. Villains" theme seems to be true, but then he also tells us to listen to Vergeben, who's now saying we should expect the adorable Isabelle on top of Simon.

Assuming we do get K. Rool, is he and Ridley enough for Nintendo to market this game with an emphasis on villains? Even when we add the existing villains and include other characters like Wario and Dedede as "villains", that's still not enough to crack 10 characters.

Jimmy and Mona would be a better WarioWare choice IMO. They've been there since the very beginning, and they've continued to have been two of the most prominent WarioWare characters. Ashley didn't pop in until the DS, and while she is certainly more popular than the others, it would feel weird to include her before the former.

Ashley is more believable than some of the other characters that I've heard. She has that "Don't mess with me!" look, which makes even Luigi feel terrified. Of course, she'll probably feel less intimidating if she uses her Game & Wario appearance.

If Mona gets in over Ashley, I wouldn't be too surprised or upset since for me she's second place for a Warioware rep I want, with Kat & Ana for third place. Haven't heard of Jimmy T. though.

Characters can interest us after appearing in smash, I bought xenoblade chronicles after shulk interested me in smash and became a fan of the game. No reason same can't happen with Simon Belmont castlevania is a very varied series with rich lore worth a check out imo.

Soundtrack is really cool too so the stage would be a favourite of mine.

Dixie is probably more on the lines of being tied with Diddy's height. As for Ashley, she'd probably be as tall as Mario or Luigi, at best.

Well one thing that loz18 did say was that their might be some sort of story mode in the game so the Heroes vs Villains theme might be coming from that.

For a villain roster we have:

I'd say that would be enough to get a good Heroes vs Villains story going.

I jus wanted to make a quick replay regarding all the discussions behind my credentials and stuff.

First, I did have access to the demo and played it for a short amount of time. Not only me, but a friend too. Both of us have access to interesting people and places, that’s all I’m going to say. I really don’t care about leaking stuff to be honest. I actually believe it does a disservice to Nintendo.

I do know bits of information but I don’t plan on speculating anything until I know 100%. I do not want to be widely known nor do I want any kind of attention as being a “leaker”. I did create a thread one time and posted in a buried thread and that’s how I plan on revealing any kind of info I think it’s not a big deal to reveal.

Other than that, I do not plan to be active under loz18 for a while so watch out for those “can’t be true” kinda of leaks, you never know which one is true. That’s how I like to do it.

Keep following Vergeben and his posts, he does seem to have some kind of insider not just from what I’ve seen but from what I’ve heard personally from other people.

I have to give props to whoever made this for being semi-original with their character selection and for making custom art for the unconfirmed newcomers (even if the art looks way too 2D to be Smash Bros renders), doesn't make this any less fake though.

I have no idea why he put Master Hand there though.

You're not wrong, interest can change over time, it's just I don't any interest in him currently since there other characters I'm more hyped for, but that could change in time, and I'm not outright refusing to acknowledge his potential to able join Smash, so yeah I'll check out some stuff and see what's he's about.
