Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted here but I've always been a lurker.

I love riddles so I've been scratching my head around these drawings trying to find any kind of meaning... and I did.
Started with the one on the bottom left and I believe each one of these is supposed to be a newcomer, the one I started with meaning "Simon".
I'll work on the other ones now so give me a few minutes but TL;DR: there's a binary code hidden in there.

(It's probably fake and I'm wasting my time but I'm having fun. lol)

I think most Nintendo novelties like Sky Skipper will be represented through Assist Trophies. Despite Sukapon being the first fighting game character Nintendo has created, despite Color Game TV being one of Nintendo's first consoles, and despite that Sheriff was the first Nintendo character ever, they are represented through Assist Trophies. Sky Skipper as a game is not a significantly important game to Nintendo because the game was not successful in Japan at all, that Nintendo of America only made very few arcade units of the game. The only potential "retros with significant importance" left (As described by True Blue Warrior) are a Hanafuda character and a Nintendo 1970s toy character. I personally believe one of these will happen despite neither of them originating from a video game.

I think that DK Jr. could definitely count as a new historical surprise with references to the OG Donkey Kong arcade series in his moveset, since these are what made Nintendo a household name in the gaming industry. Sure there was the Game and Watch before but it's with DK that Nintendo truly blew up. Also Mario and regular DK represent their own individual series so there's that.

Note the plural, and this is explicitly in reference to playable characters, so ATs and final smash characters don’t count

I think that DK Jr. could definitely count as a new historical surprise with references to the OG Donkey Kong arcade series in his moveset, since these are what made Nintendo a household name in the gaming industry. Sure there was the Game and Watch before but it's with DK that Nintendo truly blew up.

Personally, I think Stanley would make more sense.

Yeah, his game wasn't nearly as successful, but he'd have an easier time representing the arcade games via his moveset, and he even showed up on the Game & Watch once. Plus the guy has overalls, so he'd simply need the Mario/Luigi model template.

They were foolish to disrespect and complain about the legendary Toon Link...and the GOD TIER DOCTOR!!!!

On the topic of Toon Link, you gotta appreciate how cartoon-like the eyes are on his Ultimate render now. Pretty authentic-looking in that respect.

Bill's antics might bring about the ire of ol Uncle Reggie, stuffing his face full of donuts and another less memorable shenanigans from even less memorable directs, but the lad doesn't leak things. Everyone perched up in the Treehouse has no doubt been conditioned thoroughly on what is currently known about Smash and what isn't. Bill's no amateur. Though apparently he does forget the names of niche JRPG protags like some sort of philistine.

Plus you heard from Mashed Potato himself how under lock and key this whole thing is, I mean only select Ninty employees and memoryman3 even know beyond a little more than the public.

Not to mention Bill having the most questionable character wish (fat hockey guy from Ice Hockey).

Also, you mentioning the donuts gives me an excuse to post this.

I mean, Hanafuda and the Nintendo toys were major, successful, and progressive steps that eventually led Nintendo to make a business for video-games decades down the line. Even the Ultra Hand was significant as its success prevented the financial difficulties for the company and Gunpei Yokoi faced, in sort of the same way R.O.B. saved video games for the North American market when the video game crash was in effect. If you removed those points of history, we would not have the same Nintendo we have today. Do you have a case for Sky Skipper as to why his game greatly progressed Nintendo as a company?

I have thought about that idea a long time ago way back in Smash 4 speculation. I think its possible, but there is also the chance that Sakurai might find DK as sufficing enough to represent the arcade DK games and DKC games. If such a type of character to represent DK arcade were to happen, I see it in the form of Jumpman, but most people generally see that as redundant because of the idea of "three Marios in the roster" being a bad idea.

On this note did anyone not buy any of the DLC Smashers for Sm4sh? I know I didn't bother with Lucas as the character didn't appeal to me, I didn't much care for his playstyle in Brawl and I wasn't missing him at all.

I never got Ryu, the character doesn't intrest me.

With all that said, there are now three characters I think I can say I am 100% confident in thanks to evidence that has been collected.

Simon, Bandana Waddle Dee, and a Xenoblade character (probably Elma).

Other characters I'd say I'm confident in are King K. Rool, Ashley, Dark Samus, and even Dixie I'd say.

My most wanted character is Skull Kid.

First of all, let me just explain what Majora's Mask means to me, because will explain my desire for Skull Kid. My time throughout MM was the most surreal and transcendental I've ever had with a game. I can honestly say that I felt completely immersed within the world of Termina. The feeling of dread evident in every character affected me so deeply, and the theme that plays when the moon I see about to crash made me physically nauseous because of how genuinely nervous I was.

And who's my favorite character from this game? Well, none other than Skull Kid. He's just so... COOL! I love his design, personality, and really everything about him.

Now, even though he hasn't been disconfirmed yet I don't think, I'm certainly don't expect him. I certainly don't want to get hyped up over him and be dissapointed, but, I do like to think it's possible at least.

Sorry this is now off topic but it took a while to write. Also, any other Skull Kid supporters out there?

I'm with you, Majora's Mask is one of those special games that I enjoy pretty much everything about and one of the few games that made me feel fear and make my palms sweat as a kid (Romani Ranch). There was a while when I was really young that I couldn't play the game because the 64 expansion pack went missing and all I had to remind me of the game was Melee and an old torn up players guide. until one day my Mum brought home the Anniversary collection for GameCube and it all came rushing back. When someone ask what my favourite game is, Majora's Mask is always the first game to pop into my head.

Unfortunately though, I lost my copy of Majora's Mask 3D last year in a move, so I'm waiting for Halloween to hopefully buy it digitally so I'll never lose it again.




And now I want Skull Kid more than ever! With Great Bay and Young Link back, it feels like a dream match-up! And it feels like its honestly now or never. Skull Kid and Majora's Mask is more relevant than ever before thanks to the remake and being featured in many other games for promotion and just cool nods. And a lot of his big competition deconfirmed, it really feels like the time Skull Kid can get in! If he gets in, I don't care who else gets in. They could add an irrelevant side character from a one game that was a spin-off that released over 20 years ago and didn't even get a worldwide release until much later and I wouldn't care because I have Skull Kid!!!

It's an unrealistic wishlist that has multiple red flags ranging from non-Nintendo-exclusive third-parties to the very rare "Direct on a Sunday". I'm not banking on it.

I think its worth representing not only for historical significance, but also gameplay potential. All of the different unique knick-knacks of old Nintendo toys like the Love Tester, Ultra Machine, and Ultra Hand can be amalgamated into a bizarre OG character like Mr. G&W would play unlike any other character in Smash. The same goes for Hanafuda. A character who would be able to use cards to summon Japanese cultural animals, plants, and talisman in the battlefield is an awesome idea to me. I personally think these character ideas are distinct enough to warrant their own playable spots alongside R.O.B.

This was fun.

The one BIG RED FLAG about this leak is that, while Decidueye is referred to as "Junaiper", Isaac is not referred to as "Robin"; if they were going off of the Japanese names like it looks like they are, that's what he'd be called.

Otherwise, I'd be happy with these roster additions, nearly 100%. The only one I'm not 100% on is Rayman, really; because I prefer Crash for "PS1 Mascot Platformer Character". *shrug*

That aside, thanks for doing all that puzzling.

Which character (s) do you think got the best aesthetic look? I'll play devil's advocate and state I am not a huge fan of Zelda's redesign (but hey, at least she got something new that people are excited about). On the other hand, Young Link's animations and model look fantastic. 2nd place banana goes to DK for his expressive facial animations and wicked new cargo grab animation.

The Icies got some nice new details added (especially those mittens!), plus added expressions. My gal Peach looks better than ever, too. Then there's Donkey Kong being badass as usual, and I'm glad they gave him the eye pop, heh heh.

It's bit of ironic too though, I had been actually planning to make a support thread for Bubbles from Clu Clu Land - but mainly out of remembering of drawing her once and trying to incorporate her to one of my Smash Bros-themed fanfics back in the day after sort of enjoying the game itself. So the character's bit grown on me since.

IDK if she'd be this game's "retro pick" per say, but I've been still fiddling of exploring her as a hypothetical fighter in Smash overall.

It's entirely possible it could be the case, since I was thinking earlier that most people wouldn't see her coming, ala Duck Hunt. Good to see some support though.

Different strokes for different folks. I was ecstatic at his Smash 4 announcement.

By characters, do you mean characters that people recognize easily like Mario and Pikachu?
