I don't think she'd entirely lose the jiggle in smash it'd just be toned down.
She also has a lot of fun techniques so stop making me want Fatal Fury in my Smash Bros because I know it's not gonna happen.
As much as I wanna see Kirby with Mai's hair or Terry's Hat :< (I'd prefer Andy since he's my main in Fatal Fury and KoF but he isn't remotely popular compared to those 2 or the KoF leads so I can't even mention it).
At least Iori compensates for a revatively standard moveset by being bugnuts, so I'd be cool with him on board. The real worst case scenario would be SNK considering Ash Crimson instead...
Ridley is one of Metroid's smallest villains if you think about it. Kraid, Metroid Prime, Phantoon (Other M version), and Queen Metroid are the real large villains.
If I had to guess, nobody. Hopeful that I'm wrong and we get something. Out of the likely options, I'm hoping for Ashley or K. Rool. But I'm not expecting new characters less than a month after the behemoth that was E3.
Now that Ridley is in, I'm gonna hope for this next game. Who doesn't want to play as a cyclops chicken with mechanical legs, weird skin, and an exposed brain filled with spikes? It'll be awesome if it happens and is so ridiculously unlikely I won't be disappointed if it doesn't.
Agreed. I suppose I wouldn't be ultimately against Mickey in a OrgXIII outfit, but he didn't originate from video games so I'd prefer he not get in. Regardless I do agree that Disney is probably the reason Sora wouldn't make it in.
Disney has said that if the fans want Sora in Smash, they would be more than willing to let him in. They don't care how Sora and the Kingdom Hearts license is used so long as it is true to the source material. All that needs to be done is that Normura has to approve of how Sora and the Kingdom Hearts content in the game would be used, which he would, because it's Sakurai we're talking about here. If Sora doesn't get into Smash, it means that the fans didn't speak out enough, or that Sakurai didn't seek him out. Not because Disney interfered.

Yeah, that's true. I've checked up on this since we last talked about it. I do think Disney would have stopped Disney Dissidia though. Sora still requires dealing with two separate companies for one character though (even though I'm like 80% sure from a legal perspective it doesn't matter if SE is against it if Disney says he can be in. Like Disney themselves have said they care about Nomura's approval)

To best way to look at it is, when more characters get in from one series, this will encourage people to focus on the ones that are remaining from it (aside maybe when it concerns Zelda and FE reps).
I can't believe we may be heading to the point that alts possibly need to be voted in via another ballot. If Pac-Land isn't in here, Ms. Pac-Man won't get to show up period.
It is possible, but like you said, it's questionable to rely on the CSS since what we speculate from it can be off from what is the actual result. With the Smash 4 DLC for instance, we only thought we'd get 6 partially because the CSS would have perfect symmetry with that exact number of characters, but it ended up being wrong and we got one more character who broke it. This is even more then case when you consider we got that additional character during development as the original datamine only hinted to six, but Sakurai added in another regardless and thus didn't mind how it affected the CSS.
completely agreed, like i said sakurai seems to treat the CSS as an after thought.
I guess Im just using what information we do have to get an idea of the CSS but it could likely change however sakurai wants. I do still think a CSS of the characters numbered and the original 12 on top is likely, i do think the miis somehow occupying a "corner" or something might happen because of the way you'd have to choose them, and I think even if say we get 8 characters instead of 7 or something it'll likely be because of a late in development echo fighter being added, like what has happened in past games, and would be sakurai sacrificing a clean CSS for more newcomers (something i think everyone can agree is better than a clean CSS)... basically i dont think the CSS can be predicted but I do think that we have a good idea of what the PLANNED CSS might look like but often in smash plans change so what we actually end up with not even sakurai can probably say til the end.

It's not even dealing with two companies. So long as Normura approves that's it. He can go to Disney and be like "yo let Sora in Smash," and Disney would respond, "okay." That's only dealing with one company (Disney). No Square Enix involvement except Normura, who's already in on Smash thanks to the addition of Cloud.
I'm specifically mentioning it now because we just reached over 100 characters represented the other day! All of the artists did great work so just make sure to credit them or link back to the thread so people can find them. Thanks!
(You can also leave requests. No guarantee they'll get done anytime soon but there's no harm in making a request!)
if its a goog topic that hasnt been discussed then it should be fine. stages change way less than characters and we speculate on those. why not dicuss something that will actually matter

It's freaking Super Smash Brothers, one of, if not the biggest crossover series ever (step aside Marvel). Disney's legal would have to be stupid to pass on what is sure to be a huge boost in advertising. Sakurai can definitely handle them, especially if Normura, the creator of the series, is on his side.
You know if Sora gets into Smash (I don't personally have a stake in it, having never played KH, I've only watched LPs of it), I'd like the trailer to be like this...
You know the teaser trailer for KHIII, the one on Destiny Islands where Sora picks up Master Eraqus' Keyblade and looks at it curiously? I want it to be like that, make the audience really think it's a trailer for Kingdom Hearts on the Switch, then Sora picks up the Keyblade and the tip is shaped like the Smash Logo (a circle with the logo inside).
THEN the Smash Logo cut-in happens, and everyone's mind is blown to Smithereens.
EDIT: Wrote a more detailed version here.

You'd be surprised. lmao. We had to go through SO many hoops just to get Mickey Mouse his King Mickey alternate costume and the Keyblade in Disney Infinity-- a game developed by The Walt Disney Company. It was... a process, to say the least.
And it's not that Disney would pass on Sora in Smash, it just they'll make it so ridiculously hard for Sakurai and his team to put Sora together in a timely manner, haha.

I still think you underestimate the hastle of dealing with 3rd party inclusions. It's less that they would say no and more that they are already dealing with Square on Cloud, Namco for Pacman, Sega for Sonic, Knuckles, maybe Shadow, and maybe Bayonetta (it's possible the Bayo2 legal paperwork lets them bypass them), Capcom for MegaMan, and Konami for Snake, Bomberman, maybe Simon. All of those involve different legal teams and approval processes and likely different paperwork on a per character basis even within one company. Even if Disney doesn't care they probably have a more effortful legal process than the other companies involved because they are Disney.
From what I understand, dealing with Disney would be such a hassle that it would be the first thing Sakurai and co. would do after getting a Smash sequel approved, before starting to make the game.
Under such circumstances, it's best to focus on all matter of other third parties first before ever considering Disney's KH.
Here's your (first) daily dose of 4chan text leak:
This first one is not likely at all

Thanks for reminding us of the Mickey Mouse costume and Disney Infinity headaches. Those are really wonderful examples because both surely had much less legal work required.
Disney knows Smash is a big deal, yeah they'd be stupid not to jump on it, but large companies usually have certain standard legal procedures that they are really inflexible on even when they want to make things work.

That first leak is almost exclusively 3rd parties...
Wait...20+ Echoes?!
Not gunna lie that would be super awesome if they were all left as surprises on launch day. Like unlocking 20 new characters lol...totally unrealistic XD

Ironically, leaks that provide dates so they'll seem more believable are actually less believable because it's so unlikely they'd have access to such info to begin with.

Even if those dates were/are correct, couldn't Sakurai just, you know, change them so the leak doesn't look real, what's the point of providing so many dates? If the leak is true (Not saying it is lol) the moment they get one right it'll explode and become popular, and Sakurai will inevitably hear about it, there'd be no reason for him to keep those dates.
To be fair, Classic would probably have to be an echo. Him and Sonic don't have similar enough proportions for him to be an alt costume, since he wouldn't be able to reach as far with things like his legs without it looking really awkward.
I’d like to mention that 3rd party talks probably wouldn’t involve Sakurai at all.
Nintendo is the group in play to negotiate licensing for 3rd parties. It would be up to Nintendo and Disney to determine the legalities and royalties of the character in Smash, the profit for of such company in question, amiibo production, amiibo profit, etc...
Sakurai gets a lot of credit around the industry for what he’s capable of. That is probably half the reason why Smash gets characters like Snake and Cloud while the studio behind PSASBR did not...Sakurai has credibility in making characters work in Smash, based on faithful adaptations.
He isn’t the one negotiating the contract though.
That isn’t to say Sora can’t happen. While i’m sure Disney would be open to Sora in Smash, they certainly wouldn’t be allowing him for free or a simple “Okie dokie, use our property!”. It’s Disney.
There are still contractual obligations in play, and Sakurai doesn’t do the negotiating.
