We all assumed at first it would be the final proposal because of this SG tweet though:

The new translation states it was the first proposal.

Interesting. I was under the impression that in this case, the 'project plan' and 'proposal' weren't the same thing. PushDustIn thoughts?

I'd hate to bring logic to this discussion but there is no way in hell Krystal, a humanoid animal, is equivalent to a human character when it comes to maturity ratings.

Does anyone think for a second that because Krystal's outfit is apparently ok, that Samus could have that outfit as an alt costume and ESRB wouldn't flip out? Absolutely they would. Sakurai didn't have a vendetta against Samus's **** or Snake's ***. Human characters are held to a much higher standard than humanoid animals and aliens.

I'm completely lost as to how these two dots aren't connecting for some of ya'll. Not trying to be a **** but come on now. If Krystal were human she would not have that outfit in Smash Ultimate, unless it was censored and covered much more of her.

Note: I'm not giving any opinion on this subject don't jump me, please. I'm just saying there is a colossal difference that is being ignored for some reason.

Maybe make her shorts a little more covering? I'm not too well versed in Xenoblade lore AT ALL and if she needs to have very little clothing canonically or something.

Since Sakurai was content with using Krystal's wardrobe from Star Fox Adventures, I guess he's not heavily bothered with implementing female characters who expose too much skin.

My bet is that fur =/= skin.

However he needs that run animation and the spinkick nair. I don't know if those disqualify him as an Echo, but it just doesn't make sense to have Shadow without those.

I wanted to say this, because I've been bitter in the past about the obsession of King K. Rool in the community that's lasted the past 17 years.

I think King K. Rool is my most hoped for newcomer at this point, not counting a Ninten Echo Fighter.

If Bayonetta, a character who literally strips near naked in her games to attack, can get into Smash with some convenient censorships, there's no reason that they can't do the same for the mostly clothed Pyra.

Not that I think Pyra will get into the base game, but Pyra =/= Bayonetta on the lewdness scale by a longshot.

I was directing that post toward the argument that Krystal's outfit has anything to do with how human women can be dressed for a pg-13 rating.

Regarding Pyra: I don't know make her shorts actual shorts? I'll be honest I really don't care what they do with her outfit. All I know is that they saw reason in censoring Female Corrin's leg things (someone's gonna laugh that I don't know what those are called but eh) and if they did that then there is no way they'll be totally OK with Pyra's outfit now. If she's in her outfits getting censored in some way, regardless of what her fans want.

The issue isn't that there is a proposal. The issue is that there is more than one now. Meaning the one made in december 2015, can potentially not have been the one with the final roster.

The first proposal could've contained just the basics. Like the idea of bringing everyone back, but not contain newcomer ideas yet.
Now, yes, it could also have all the newcomers from the get go, but the fact there is more than one makes the other side possible as well.

Being visibly non-human goes a long way towards what you can get away with (see: Rouge the Bat).

I actually unironically like Rouge, though the only Sonic characters I'm actually indifferent to are the ones from the games I haven't played (e.g. Marine and Sticks).

If Tails is his own character, I'd make Sonic's up special Sonic Tornado.

I always wanted to see Sonic's aerokinesis in Smash moveset. He does it all the time in the games with Sonic Wind (SA2), Sonic Wave (Battle), Blue Tornado (Heroes), Tornado (Rush).

If there were multiple Final Smashes in the game, Sonic MUST have "Sonic Combo" from Sonic Battle.

I really want to see Sonic wildly flailing his arms and legs. Then tossing his enemies away with a shockwave.

So, does Shantae fit in this argument? She is half-human and half-genie. The safest outfit I can think of for her besides some of her HGH costumes is her succubus form. Her pirate outfit in Pirate's Curse gives a smidgen more to work with.

Plus realistic guns are a no-go anyway (just ask Snake), so it's a moot point.

Man that game was weirdly fun.

Even as someone who loved Shadow's game the gun thing was always kinda awkward. Like, if they make a sequel (which will never happen) I'd keep the gun thing but wouldn't directly make it a part of Shadow's character. They should have made Shadow good without the guns. Like wtf was even the point of punching in that game?

Yeah you'd think they'd give that to him considering how consistently he's used it. At least give him a wind box for some of his moves.

I liked "Shadow the Hedgehog" as well (even the multiple story thing, at least in theory). The one thing I REALLY didn't like was that one mission with the Rresident's airship.

I remember one time when I fell through the floor trying to walk through a door in one of the ARK levels. Ah, good times had by all.

Except the President and his DAMN airship. Screw him.

Not all of them. Just the ones who act like he's always been the most likely and deserving character ever and act surprised that he wasn't in past games. The same is the case for Bandana Waddle Dee supporters.

If you don't believe me that fan followings are obnoxious, just look at Waluigi this past week. Where fans are literally harassing Sakurai over a character who was never likely or probably ever should be playable. Even if he is one of my favorite video game characters.

The only reason I even think King K. Rool is likely to begin with is because of the ballot, his acknowledgement in Smash for Wii U, and the acknowledgement of what fans want being a big thing in this game.

It's funny how some characters can get away with wearing no clothes, while others can't. Obviously, humans and humanoid characters have to be fully clothed.

I just wish we got an official story path but there were contradictions on top of contradictions in that game so it probably isn't possible. I hated Charmie's level with the poison ground personally. I like Charmie but his voice was sooo obnoxious back then. Come to think of it, though, the Shadow the Hedgehog soundtrack was actually pretty good.

I'm chalking up most of my issues with Shadow today to Sonic Team's writing team. It's been said a billion times now but we need more Sonic Adventure. I don't understand why they have gone so long without attempting to listen to their fans. Especially, because its no secret Sonic has been doing poorly for a long time. I'm not trying to hate I just don't understand and it irritates me...

But whatever, gonna just have to sit here with my nostalgia goggles on a while longer. (hopefully)
