Former Bandai Namco employee talks about a new render engine being made before development of Smash started, before leaving Bandai Namco. Which got him into hot water, terminating his entire account. All these deleted Tweets.
Can someone fill me in?
FE Switch was confirmed to still be 2018 in the 2018 Annual Financial Report. I also think they might have something for Animal Crossing, nothing big since they already have a lot on their plate, but at least some sort of announcement. So with all of this E3 hype quickly building up, I decided to make a list of what we should be expecting at E3 and what we should not be expecting at E3. Keep in mind that if something is not mentioned that either means I didn't think of it or I could see it going either way.
First, what we should expect at E3 in order of likeliness:
1. Super Smash Bros Switch - This one is 100% confirmed. All we can speculate on is what exactly will be revealed about the game that we no next to nothing about. For sure going to be playable on the show floor as well as being heavily featured on treehouse.
2. Yoshi Switch - This one is almost a given as well considering we haven't seen this one since last year's E3 unless of course it ends up in development hell like it's predecessor on the Wii U did. That seems unlikely though, since we got a gameplay demo of it on treehouse last year and a fair amount of footage in the trailer. Expect us to get a title, a lot of gameplay, and an appearance on the show floor as well. Probably also on the treehouse a fair amount.
3. Fire Emblem Switch - This one is another obvious one. We will likely see a fair amount of gameplay, some dedicated treehouse segments, and possibly being playable on the show floor though I'm 50/50 on this one. I also think it's possible this one could get pushed back to 2019 but I find that unlikely, I do think they will stay true to the release year here.
4. Metroid Prime 4 - Very likely that we're seeing this one as well. The only question is how much of it will we actually see. I was expecting only a slight tease of it in a short trailer not showing any gameplay footage until today's walmart leak convinced me that we will get to see a little more than I thought. Probably only a gameplay trailer but it will be refreshing none the less.
5. Pokemon Switch - I'm sure will get something on this one as well, though I'm unsure of really how much. I could see us getting a gameplay trailer or just a slight tease of an official announcement and trailer for the game coming in the next few weeks from the Pokemon company. The Pokemon company's tendency to do things on their own sometimes is the onyl rease why I rank this below Metroid, though I still think this is coming before it. I am 50/50 on this releasing in 2018.
6. Retro's Project - It's been several years since Tropical Freeze released, and whatever Retro is working on is unlikely to be a new Donkey Kong or Metroid Prime game. Whatever it is is anyone's guess but it seems about the right time to finally see what they're working on.
That covers it for the likely stuff, anything not mentioned there that's not down below is still possible but isn't as easy to predict. There surely are some things that will be revealed that I didn't mention though. Now for the stuff we should not expect in no particular order:
1. Any new Splatoon information(aside from Inklings in Smash) - Splatoon 2 came out a year ago, and while I'm sure a sequel is happening and might already be in the works, don't expect to hear about it anytime soon. As for new content to Splatoon 2, I don't think any free updates to the game will make the E3 presentation, and I doubt any info on the Octo Update will show up either since I don't think there's anything huge in it that we don't know about and we've been receiving information on it over time since it's reveal at the direct. Although I can see them playing it on the treehouse to generate hype for it's arrival one month from then and it might make the show floor as well so people have a chance to play it early but I don't expect any new Splatoon info during the presentation.
2. Anything on the New Legend of Zelda game - This one's obvious, it just started production, not gonna be here even if it is farther along than we thought.
3. More Wii U ports - While I do think it's possible there are more Wii U ports coming that we don't know about, don't expect any to be revealed here. I'm sure Nintendo has many other things to show off here. Wii U ports just aren't E3 level announcements.
That's all I have for now. I'd like to hear all of your thoughts on this and what you think we might see and not see at E3.
I managed to save these thanks to having another tab of this thread open.Did anyone save/screenshot the tweet and it’s contents? It’s gone for me.
I can definitely see them announcing animal crossing and maybe even releasing it this year. New Leaf was a holiday title so I could see the same happening here. Smash in October, AC in November and then FE in December. I could also see Pikmin coming this year instead/as well.FE Switch was confirmed to still be 2018 in the 2018 Annual Financial Report. Worth noting this guy's current position is a software engineer for Nintendo according to his twitter bio.I managed to save these thanks to having another tab of this thread open.
It's a relatively innocent and not so major thing to fire someone for.Worth noting this guy's current position is a software engineer for Nintendo according to his twitter bio.
...Maybe not anymore though. Hopefully that didn't cost him.
I mean, minor, yeah, but his entire twitter account got nuked, not just the tweet. I guess maybe he didn't want to deal with the inevitable Smash swarm? It's a relatively innocent and not so major thing to fire someone for.
Granted. They left Bandai Namco out of the trailer, but I guess they'd probably do that because they'd not want people to automatically assume ''Well, Pacman's back."
At the very least, it's a safe bet Pac-Man is back. >.>I just hope there will be no characters leaked before the direct at E3. Like Roy and Ryu were.
Mario looks like as if he has seen some ****.I finally finished the concept for the Hanafuda character, it was fun to draw and color:
The man just summoned a goose like if it was a freaking Yugioh monster, I'd be terrified too.Mario looks like as if he has seen some ****.
That aside, the concept looks neat.
I mean, Ryu and Roy were only found because they were in the update files.I just hope there will be no characters leaked before the direct at E3. Like Roy and Ryu were.
Thanks. I could use this for evidence.I managed to save these thanks to having another tab of this thread open.
Really? I never heard of that.I just hope there will be no characters leaked before the direct at E3. Like Roy and Ryu were.
Probably no newcomer directly from a Smash source itself. It's hyping itself up for a massive reveal at E3. However, if they throw a curveball and have a Pokemon or Fire Emblem Direct this month to give those games and Smash more space, we could see potential advertisement reps from those games.Dang. I feel more hype bubbling through the surface.
Can we expect a newcomer this month?
Thanks. I could use this for evidence.
Really? I never heard of that.
I'm starting to feel like Mr. Unpopular Opinion here, because I honestly think Palutena is way more interesting than Pac-man. Pac-man is a treasure in gaming culture but when I saw he was in Smash I didn't go "HOLY CRAP THIS IS WHAT I'VE ALWAYS WANTED," like your post somewhat suggests.I honestly don't think Sakurai gives two ****s about how he reveals things anyways. The man is a weird creature. Palutena was revealed in the E3 presentation. Meanwhile a hype third party icon like Pac Man was behind closed doors.
The man is impossible to understand.
*aggressively shifts in chair*Most Likely pokemon to be playable?
1. Decidueye
2. Sceptile
3. Gen 8 Pokemon
4. Gen 1 Pokemon
5. Mimikyu
We are going to get a grass starter. I feel it.
Personally, I don’t believe Decidueye is as secured in that #1 most likely spot for a Pokémon newcomer.Everyone seems so certain the Decidueye will be the new Pokemon but we can't always be so sure. Just in case, let's make a Top 5 Most Likely Pokémon list. A list where you think one of these might be in the game.
1. Decidueye
2. Mimikyu
3. Incineroar
4. Necrozma
5. Marshadow
Are there people out there who still actively hoping for Zoroark? My logic expects Decidueye or Mimikyu but experience says it could be anyone.
We were all dead certain about Zoroark after all...
Since people keep saying this without explaining why, I'll bite.i still dont see mimikyu as a fighter. more like a pokeball pokemon. Lycanroc i can see, but decidueye seems more likely for me. it makes more sense.
I want a trailer that starts out with Decidueye but then it's actually just Zoroark using its ability. My logic expects Decidueye or Mimikyu but experience says it could be anyone.

To be honest the exact same. Pac-Man was my most wanted third party at the time just because he's the very foundation of video game mascots to begin with.Palutena wouldn't even exist if it weren't for Pac Man so in a way doesn't she owe her creation to him making video games such a stable part of our culture? And thus owe her inclusion in Smash Brothers to him? So yes I fully believe it was weird she was revealed in a public eyes format and he was revealed behind closed doors.
And I'm someone who wanted them both. I did the exact opposite I ''Oh neat"-ed Palutena, but loved the animation of her trailer, but Pac Man legit made me hyped, because that meant video games as a whole was getting repped. Not just Kid Icarus.
I don't know maybe I just put a lot more respect and hype behind people who paved the way and blazed the trail instead of someone who while cool isn't nearly the icon that the trail blazer is.
if what he said was true expect it to look like smash 4 as he made the rendering engine. this is separate from the gameplay engineSo, I've seen mixed responses to Tiago's words. Assuming he's telling the truth, some people are saying this means the engine is the same as Smash 4 while others are saying this means the game is going to run on a new engine, can we really be sure of either?

How most people reacted to Megaman's reveal I reacted that way to Pac-Man.
On that subject I'm sure it's been done before but I haven't seen in a while;

Here's my list:
- (because of the ballot)
- (although was the biggest reason, my favourite semi obscure villain)
- (never played Megaman before so...)
- (likewise for Cloud, but I knew who he was)
- (a literal who to me at the time)
- (only character I never bothered buying)
- (if he counts as a 'reveal' at the end of palutena's trailer)
- (literally who)
He must have been working to some extent. I'm pretty sure he produces 80 percent of the project plan. Dude really needs to learn how to delegate. If Bandai Namco started production of Smash Switch in August 2016, does that mean Sakurai took ~6 months for his "breather", since development of Smash 4 DLC finished somewhere around early February (or perhaps even earlier)? Or did he start work on Smash Switch earlier without Bandai Namco?
Considering the rather infamous rep the work culture in Japan gets, I'd imagine 6 months would be considered something akin to an extended break rather than a breather, which sounds more like 1 month to me. Going by that logic, Bamco would've begun assisting with development five months in or so.If Bandai Namco started production of Smash Switch in August 2016, does that mean Sakurai took ~6 months for his "breather", since development of Smash 4 DLC finished somewhere around early February (or perhaps even earlier)? Eh, I pretty much liked everyone. I didn't recognize most of them but characters and their reveal was still cool, maybe with the exception of Cloud and Corrin. I also liked Lucas, Mewtwo and Roy, but they are not exactly newcomers.
- Still coolest character
- I've never heard of her before and it was a glorious introduction
- A mere boxer going against all these weirdos. Comic book style animation. Doc Louis.
- Animation and her talk with Pit was great
- Honestly intimidating
- A mage character and can go against Captain Falcon on top of that
- Though they grew on me
Oh, I forgot to say; feel free to share it if you want to. I plan to do a few more images if we get anymore leaks. This needs to be everywhere on social media like Facebook and Twitter!
