sighhh...

Well, I tried, and you still didn't explain why the point I asked about was wrong, even though I gave explanations of my own about your points, and you just opted to defend your own points further. I'm just going to drop it and watch as you crash and burn, enjoy your music on at robocop.

arguments for and against music:
for - music is apart of the game.
against - I need a johns for when I lose, because music will be on.

who the **** doesn't play with music on, that's so boring, seriously.

i guess for the next local tournament we should all try playing with music off and see how it goes. THAT WAY WE CAN ALL JOHN WHEN WE LOSE.

To be fair to Sirlin competitive philosophy, saying "It's boring without music" is not a reason to have it on.

However, on the other side of the coin, saying "There's no reason to have it on" is also not a reason to have it off. Sirlin's competitive mindset is the most unbiased approach.

Corpse, you say there's no reason to turn it off.
But I challenge you to find a reason that's worthy of banning it.

Unless music breaks one of Sirlin's criteria for a banworthy game element, there's no reason to.

Also to everyone, don't go spouting "Who cares about sirlin," I'm talking competitive theory, and it's easiest to get the background of the message across by appending his name.

Music on is a stock setting and should be left as is. Every stock setting that has been changed, has been changed due to significant reasons. Items? Too Random, Stock? more suitable than time for competition.

I don't understand why you guys (Perth) want music off. Is it because you're all bad at the game, or because you're all bad at life?

Nope. I will be exercising my TO rights for this one. The poll speaks for itself. As far as I'm concerned, music stays on.

Pretty sure you rock-off or flip a coin...

Or compromise and put it at 75:25 SFX instead of 5:5

I say coin toss/RPS is the best way for music.
If you win or lose, it's only luck.

...
Also, if I remember correctly, having 1 TV off with music wasn't going to change anything... So why would you even want to do a coin toss in the first place, Richard?
All the argument was before was:
"It'll be too loud for it to matter about 1 TV, it has to be all TVs."
So even if the music is on or off, both of you shouldn't be affected, because both of you knew it wouldn't make any difference anyway.

Broz you just ***** yourselvz.

While I won't deny that I said that, having one setup will no music on will still create less noise. :chuckle:
