I honestly wouldn't mind that too much, it would be interesting to see the game in 2015... as it wouldn't sell as well. I would be curious as to what would happen after that.
Technically Snake is confirmed to not be in the game, I already understand that it was merely an awkward response to a question; but at that same time, that doesn't alter objective fact. I still expect Snake, but he was de-confirmed (which doesn't mean he will not make an appearance, it means that developers claimed he wouldn't make an appearance). Simple.
Why would they release the length of the Direct? That doesn't even make any sense.

I always took a deconfirmation as something incredibly absolute, not fishy words from a fishy developer. I mean, he didn't even say no, he said it's up to Sakurai, just like Sega said about Sonic. A deconfirmation is to me when a character has been asigned a role outside of being playable, or is confirmed to not appear in the game in any way, shape or form, and the latter can only serve as means of deconfirmation when the game has released and we know everything that's in it. You can't come back from a deconfirmation, when you're deconfirmed your chances are dead, and like you acknowledge yourself Snake isn't dead in the slightest.
They've done that in the past.
Doesn't it seem weird that those are for the standard time settings, and not for the daylight time settings? My region's time setting is EDT right now.
If this happens then I'm absolutely done. My most wanted character ever, two of my mains, and make that three if the Pokémon is Jigglypuff. All I'm missing then is Ike and K. Rool, and I can sleep tight every night until release.

I didn't insinuate that, I was merely asserting that he indicated that Snake was not in the game by a preponderance of the evidence. It would be blatantly fallacious to disregard that notion; however, as you stated, it is "fishy" so I don't necessarily deem his statement as absolute. It is still a deconfirmation (by definition). Obviously one must interpret the situation logically, Snake isn't out of the picture (he is deconfirmed by a prominent developer though). I am just being highly literal, I can't help it.

That's actually a really good point. The summer is generally a notoriously slow time for game releases and with many cultures around the world having some sort of concept of a "summer vacation" I think it would be a smart move on Nintendo's part to release this in July or August. Plus by doing this they could have more focus on other games at E3 since it could be raining nukes outside and Smash games would still sell stupidly well so it really doesn't matter when they release them.
If the time of the Smash Bros. Direct is at 3 PM PST, then you'd think that it'll air at 4 PM PDT for the pacific regions that do daylight savings time. However, the Nintendo Direct times can end up being quite confusing when not every region springs forward.
Yeah, it's just up to how we each interpret and use the word "deconfirmed." Wasn't really trying to make it sound like a statement as much as another perspective.
I guess I'm selfish for saying this, but I would be very disappointed if they were released at different times. I'm only getting the 3DS version so if the Wii U version came out 3 months before, I'd be forced to spoil the game. Can't avoid stuff like that for 3 months :/. I want this to be the first Smash game I don't spoil!
