Smash Master
I see why people read townie intent into this guy, I really do. But if you look at his first posts, they're so safe. So calculated. His 'towniness' came in a burst after a specific post, and the post was a gambit he was told to do.
You know half the reason I think he's scum? Because the approach he's taking is exactly the same as the one I took in my first scum game. Play dumb and honest. Just because someone plays dumb, doesn't mean they are. I'd cite Chibo as reference but that's not applicable since he is actually that dumb.
Hell, if I set my almost overwhelming arrogance aside, I'm nearly willing to consider I may sometimes be not entirely accurate.
Also I forgot to say @ RR - Adventure Time? OS admitted he let himself be lynched - so I'd hardly call that me being wrong. Check the ranking thread to see him ripped apart about that. One of my reasons for lynching him was that he wasn't opposing it like a decent townie would. Gambit stylee.
Finally, Swiss gives us some reasoning. Trust me, I've already considered this 5 times over. If you recall, which I'm sure you do, I'm not alien to this concept as it is exactly what I used in DnD to stay under the radar. Thing is, there's a point where genuine town clueless-ness starts to shine through those suspicions. I would never have gone to the lengths to act so honest that I name claimed and claimed my role entirely at random unless the entire thing was planned by my scummates. I simply would not have been good enough/confident enough to craft it myself. With Dietz, he's obviously not fake-claiming this role as Rockin confirmed himself as his neighbor (unless you think both are scum, which you don't). And, due to the nature of his role and the information accessible to him if he were to be scum (a QT with Rockin and a QT with his mates), I'm positive his mates would have found it more fruitful to gain information from forming a bond of trust with Rockin than randomly outing the neighborhood for the vain hope of gaining dumbtown points for a player that certainly wouldn't be expected to carry their faction come crunch time.
And besides, the only scummates I could see being crafy enough to tell him to do this is Me, you, and possibly Ryker. Since you're both pushing him and I obviously didn't tell him everything just seems to line up as it appears: dumbtown.
