Guys! I was seeing some Smash Community things...(things I should have never seem) and I thought about one thing... if Shantae would get in Smash she would be Shipped with other characters? If yes... who?

Not exactly. I am just curious to see how each character would look if they were adapted to each others style, not the ship art itself. Plus, I typically don't go full "I will go down with this ship" until I see the character actually interact, though I do pinpoint what character dynamic has potential. Fun fact though, although Pit is much older than Shantae because angel years are weird, he is physically and mentally 13. Meanwhile Shantae's age is I believe 16. You know, I wonder if being Half Genie effects your life span?

I could have sworn we already had a Nindie direct this season? Unless I'm mixing it up with another Indie Showcase?

Honestly, Shantae and Toon Link make the most sense personality wise.

Shantae is a hot headed, brave, heroic half-genie and Toon Link is a courageous, goofy, determined hero of time.
If we had a story mode, I'd love seeing these two interact with eachother. Not in a wierd romantic sense but just so I could see how they would play off of eachother.

Interesting idea. I think it'd be cool to find something creative to do with it, or something different too could be cool.
No sure what, but it could be as simple as lots of people making a quick drawing of something (like Shantae's face,etc) instead of just a signature.
Just an idea off the top of my head.

I love it! You really captured her cuteness well (which is the most important part ofcourse)! :3

This also made me think we could perhaps make a big collaborative artpiece with fan-doodles and artwork of Shantae drawn by all supporters in one big image as a thanks to WayForward. Whether you can draw or not, it's the thought and effort that counts.

To me, she seems a lot more asexual. Or at the very least, she seems like she's not interested in romance. I could see her and Pit being friends, though.

What's funny is that I could actually see Samus involved in a romance before Shantae.

To me, finding out what became of her parents will have to take top priority before anything else. Besides, Bolo treats her like family and prefers to go after other fish in the ocean.

That's a wonderful idea! Plus it would only be fair to thank the creators after they thanked everyone for their support of HGH, so it'll be full-circle.

This is exactly what I think. And if Shantae uses the Pirates Gear, then she likely is gonna have a design inspired by Pirates Curse. There are still obvious stylistic differences, but I could easily see either adapted to the other's style completely and still look pretty similar. Actually, someone should make fan art of that if it has not already been done.

I have to say I really like the Pirate's Curse design, the subtle addition of the vest just... rounds out her appearance color-wise. Hard to explain...

About Shantae not showing any romantic interest, I think it's more that she literally has not met a single decent man that isn't family. They're either too old, jerks, evil, dumb or some combination of the four. No wonder Sky comes to the conclusion "men are idiots".

While I'm sure we won't get anything at the Nindies Direct tomorrow, it will be a good idea to pay attention to Matt, WayForward, and Sakurai's Twitter pages today to see if they drop any sort of hints.

I'm probably not the only one, but I personally ship Shantae and Sky, myself.

But it is nice that they generally keep her as an asexual character. Not every female character needs to have a forced romantic interest.

I think Shantae's moveset would be based off her Genie abilities while Risky is an assist, using the Pirate's Curse moves.

If I had to pick any assist from her series, it would probably be Squid Baron. There's simply too much meta humor from him. I see Risky more as a stage hazard.

Based on the fan-created movesets that have been created, where do you think she'll sit tier-wise? I'm hoping for somewhere in high mid-teir; good enough for tournament play but not so good that people get pissed because she's so good that every tournament player uses her.
