Same here, considering how well the Castlevania series is doing, I think Shantae would be amazing as a Netflix animated series.

This VERY different. Are they known to tweet very cryptic stuff like this? Because to me this raises more than one eyebrow.
I don't know if it's really a hint for the nindies, but I'm very intrigued by this. What are they playing at??

See, I think a stage aboard Risky's ship would be cool, but an identical map already exists for the game.

I mean, it would not have to be completly identicle, but I see your point.

As for the gate idea, that would be an easy excuse for many of Shantae's friends(And perhaps some of her enemies) to make an appearance in each separate section.

The spot where you fought the Giga Mermaid. Has the platforms and ring hooks you can hang onto and said mermaid can be a stage hazard, randomly coming up from the water to shoot lasers at you.

That’s an easy pick for me! Mermaid Factory. Can you imagine the mermaids swinging by in the background? And if you’re not careful a hook can snag you and you get turned into a mermaid before being helplessly carried off the stage. Would make for some fun hijinx if nothing else!

I just had an idea. If Sakurai decided no indies would be playable in the game and makes Shantae an assist trophy, do you think it'd be possible for him to make an indie game stage? It'd go through a bunch of different locales for indie games such as Scuttle Town, the Plains from Shovel Knight, and others that were popular during early development. Additionally it would allow music from a bunch of different indie series. I think that'd be an amazing thing for him to do if he decided against indies.

It would be a sweet gesture, but I have my doubts. How often have we gotten first party stages that aren't linked to a character, let alone a third party?

We got Hanenbow, Balloon Fight, Living Room, Pictochat (+2), and... arguably Pilotwings.

Third party? None at all.

I dunno, it could happen, but I kinda think Sakurai would find it meaningless to spend that much effort for something that people would evidently not appreciate as much as the character reveals.

Because let's face it, for some, a character reveal is the only thing that'll make them happy, and any alternative will for them feel like a setback.

Well there's actually quite a lot of people that go nuts for stages, but definitely nothing beats a character reveal.
I could see there being a stage that puts indie stuff together instead of ATs, that could be ok and fun to play on.
There's lots possible, but I'm more focused on the characters too right now :D

“Half-Genie Hero” is probably the most obvious one, but something that came to mind while I was watching Jonny Atma’s cover of Burning Town: “Genie in a Throttle” (this could also be used if Shantae decided to form a rock band with her friends)

Yeah, it's like having the streets or factory level from Streets of Rage 2 as a stage, but without having Axel OR Blaze playable for it. It'd be a fruitless effort for little gain.

I was thinking that it would be at Risky's ship since Shantae pushes the entire Ultimate Slumber Party to there in the dlc. If Jammies Mode was indeed a rather big hint, her ship would be the perfect stage. Maybe the ship could take the fighters to Scuttle Town, the Mermaid Factory, and elsewhere from HGH. Just a thought to keep it separate from Toon Link's.
