i couldn't agree more. it's simply irritating having to repeatedly remind people that, even if the leak ends up being true regardless of the evidence against it, that DLC is still on the table and that the game isn't dead yet (
it hasn't even come out so you could argue it isn't even alive). nintendo has lately been supporting all of their games with additional content. even games you would not typically expect to have DLC content such as Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, as rich in content as they are, were not exempt from this. it is irrational to believe that smash won't have DLC, especially considering the previous game also did.
also:
it's especially annoying since Shantae's opulent and very consistent performance in popularity polls and smash ballot polls show she's a very top tier and realizable candidate for DLC (occasionally outperforming the likes of Geno) and all people need to do is relax and be patient.
if ridley, a character with an abundant amount of support in the U.S. despite being
verbally deconfirmed by Sakurai himself and having a lot going against him can perform well enough on the ballot for him to make it into this game, Shantae has so much greater of a chance than a lot of the people giving up on her or hating on her want to believe she does.
and regardless of whether people think an "irrelevant indie character" can make it into smash or not the fact of the matter is that if you look at the ballot, you'll see that most of the newcomers to this game (especially if we're to believe the grinch leak) have been A: highly requested, B: very rich moveset potential, or C: are historical to nintendo/gaming, and you could make the argument that all three of these ring true for Shantae.
not to mention, this is all assuming Shantae isn't just one of the characters that trusted gatherers of information and insiders are saying is missing from the banner.
