There's something fishy here. Now, while I can't suspect anything too drastic, isn't this a bit too convenient most of the newest characters are in the air or have a shadow that could be shared with another character? In addition, should have this been real, then why are the new characters here not drawn in the Smash Ultimate style with a highlight on their left side? Thus, that's the reason why the image is blurry as ****. Because if it was crisp and clear, we could see the drawing inconsistencies immediately!

For reference sake, here's the Banner from June 19th. So it won't include all the other characters that are in the Ballot, but think about it.

That is true. But like I said, if it is fake, its a good one, and props to them

As for the missing shadows... I think Snakes may still be there but its super hard to see and has been shrink, due to him moving more into the background.



There SEEMS to be some sort of darkening by snakes knee. as for Pikmin, yeahthe shadow is missing, but so far thats the only thing off. Everything else seems to have the right shadows.

But yeah, this could be fake, and may be fake, but don't think just 1 missing shadow is enough to PROVE its fake. Remember people were saying the ESRB one was fake too due to lighting, and thinking models looked shopped.

Playing devils advocate here again, but there is only so much space the original picturer left for people on the ground.

Plus as for it being blurry, the only art there is of a wrist band to be given out at events. If the blurry images was of the full art, then its easier to call bull**** on blurryness

What I can say about the increased amount of leaks appearing as Smash Ultimate is getting closer.

As you can see here that Isabelle's shadow was already in place prior to them showing her actual banner artwork(by Clound's feet). So yeah Nintendo DOES in fact that into account the shadows for any thing regarding the banner.

I’m really on the camp of shantae being future dlc. I just don’t think she can be an assist trophy after shovel knight is the indie rep for that. This base roster leak is INSANE!

As much as I'd love this roster, I can't help but stay on Team Fake, but I'd be bedeviled if I could give a solid reason why. I just can't buy into this selection. Right now all I have is a gut feeling on me, and it's telling me Shantae should be here and there's just something off about it.

It ain't over till Sakurai sings. Also no offense, but you, connor, and hollywood have jumped ship like 50 times before this "leak" was ever a thing so don't go trying to bring other people's hopes down just because this one has other characters you want.

Even if Shantae isn't in the base, this roster looks fantastic. But yeah, its not over till its over.

A Palutena-type scenario where a particular leak's fake, but it's characters happen to be in anyway is ideal.

Although if this were true, wouldn't Nintendo have been furiously taking down this image everywhere by now?

You know I hope she's at least DLC...these last characters in this leak are really boring to me. I have no connection to Geno, Banjo, or Isaac, and consider them overhyped. Ken and Shadow are echoes, and while I like Shadow...he's not really hype worthy, and Mach Rider and the Chorus Kids are bad choices imo.

Yeah, the banner might somehow not be final. I thought the last Smash Direct was gonna reveal the last of the roster and I was surprised more were on the way. I'm not gonna expect much but Sakurai is treating Ultimate like it's the last thing he's ever gonna do so you never know what might happen.

If this is indeed the final roster I have to say it’s a lot more than what I was expecting. BK in particular is super exciting.

DLC is still a thing, so until she’s fully deconfirmed don’t lose hope.

If Isaac and Geno are in, the roster is close to perfect to me. Shantae would be the cherry on top of the cake, but I kinda feel I'd be content with her appearing in any capacity really, be it an Assist Trophy or even just a regular trophy. As long as she gets even a little visibility in Smash, I'm good, as she'll still have millions of players get to know her, play her games and spread the word - so she can grow from there.

Though luckily we still have DLC season ahead so there's still a chance for playable status. Not sure if I can take all the speculation and waiting again though haha!

Indeed. You kinda lose your credibility when you've already "jumped ship" dozens of times before this.

Even if this leak is true, there is still the possibility of her being DLC.

It's not over until Sakruai confirms it.

well, i got shadow at least. he was my #2 just below shantae for base roster. my hope is far from lost though. if she survives another assist trophy lightning round, then she's for certain a DLC fighter lock.

Seems the "leakers" credibility is in question.

The company the guy works for never worked on anything Nintendo related at all in the past.
