We've been waiting seemingly forever for new info... ( No I don't count Isabelle's flop reveal as consistant news )

Characters could be revealed at any time, if Sakurai wants to do that.
Wasn't it like this with Brawl?
And I think a few characters got randomly revealed outside Directs too, in Smash 4, if I am not mistaken.


However, there has to be one more Smash Focused Direct.
After all, there is still that mysterious mode.
And I don't think all Assist Trophies have been shown off yet either.
Who knows, there could be even more that we don't know about yet.

But yeah, one final Smash Direct, at the end of November the latest (if there are no delays) seems reasonable.
And if she hasn't been shown off before that, that final direct could be the moment, that decides her fate in the game.

Then again, I might be repeating what everyone else has thought/said already...

What about, Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull, Rick Blaine from Casablanca, Tom Bombadil from The Lord of the Rings, Genghis Khan from the Mongol Empire and Nancy Archer from Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.

If we don't get any official news from Nintendo this month, it will be confirmed in November since at that point, they can't withhold the Smash Direct news with only One Month left before release.

Also on market standpoint, it can be a good market strategy since Black Friday will happen on the 23 of November.

Some of my smash bros friends are saying that if Steve from Minecraft makes it in, he will be the only realistic indie representative in the game and that will hurt Shantaes chances. I personally don’t believe that Steve is in, but if he gets the playable character treatment, do you guys think that’ll be the final nail in the coffin for Shantae?

I don't think so. I think he's more along the lines of a Microsoft rep than a Indie rep. Mi ecrsft hasn't been indie since the buy out.

Maybe.
I wouldn't really think of Steve as the indie representative though, I'd see him more of a representative for Microsoft. He is originally indie, yes, but Minecraft isn't really considered that anymore.

1. He might not be an Indie-rep anymore, due to the buy-out.
2. Shantae is the most popular indie-character worldwide.
3. Minecraft-character might not be realizable, given Sakurai's design philosophies.

Minecraft hasn't been "indie" since mid 2015, And being owned by Microsoft makes Steve the exact opposite of an indie character.

Now Steve could very well make in on his own merits, but it would be more of a Microsoft rep.

I'm hopeful. But if she's an assist trophy,, it's still a massive boon for her AND there's nothing saying she can't become playable in the future. I'm going to do a comic for her using HGH portraits no matter which happens, so let's cross our fingers and hope for the best!

Yeah, if she is an Assist I wouldn't be a bad thing, but i don't think that's possible. There is so much surrounding her that Assist Trophy doesn't explain.
