I'd like to point out that everyone was only predicting Simon, and Isabelle AFTER they were leaked by Vergeben. Especially isabelle who was barely mentioned before Vergeben leaked her.

Yeah, everyone and their dog was predicting them but BECAUSE VERGEBEN LEAKED THEM.

I agree. But unfortunatly, except for Richter most of Sakurai's picks so far have been Uber Safe ones(albeit Inkling has only been considered a Safe pick until recently). But then again as someone said earlier the Last characters announced for a Smash game tend to be unsafe ones like Olimar, and Shulk and Bayonetta.

Genuine question, how do you show proof of some guy working in Nintendo, on Smash (Nintendo's biggest marketing game), Without being fired and sued? I can understand if you think he predicts them, but that confuses me. Like, what is considered proof to you?

This, right here. There's a difference between leaking and predicting.

If someone claims to have information that would normally be considered unlikely, and that information turns out correct...that usually means they were telling the truth.

Well, if you don't care about the competitive scene and just really like the character, she's great. She's so perfectly ported from her games and has so many great fanservice things to her like the Madama Butterfly shadow.

I'd settle for anything that would prove beyond the shadow of the a doubt, that he has legit sources.
For example: Saying who those sources are and them confirming that.

I dislike this Verg guy so much. He's ruining ****ing surprises! Why can't he just keep his damn yap shut!? I like discussing about Smash but then this guy comes in like Thanos ruining everything.

What I hate the most right now is that he's so far been right. Ridley, Simon, and Isabelle while easy predictions are all in. And if we get flaming cat over Decidueye, I'm gonna be so damn dissatisfied.

And if Shantae is in the game in some form and he ruins the surprise, I'm gonna lose it.

Makes sense. I would love sources, but nobody ever comes out about leaking said source less they wanna be sued by that company beyond belief. Still, I really do wonder how they get away with leaking that information, if he does have sources.

People are going to point to the evidence that was presented here many times before which they previously dismissed/ignored and say "see shantae was an obvious pick the whole time." It happens ALL the time. People will dismiss a character as having "no chance" but once they are in they act like they were an obvious pick the whole time.

There were people who even tried to claim Wii Fit Trainer was an obvious pick or a "Lucky guess." On the basis that her game sold 40 million copies. Funny how no one was saying that BEFORE she was chosen. Wii Fit Trainer is just the most extreme example but it happens to most characters to varying degrees.

I wouldn't exactly call K. Rool uber safe, considering that Nintendo higher-ups didn't realise that there are people that still cared about him.

That's precisely the problem.
The sources coming out and openly admitting to leaking information to outsiders, would be the ultimate proof of legit sources, but at the same time they can kiss their careers "Good Bye".
And since nobody in their right mind is gonna risk their job like that, we can never expect proper evidence.

So in the end, we can never be 100% certain, whether or not pre-release leakers have legit sources or are just guessing and making things up, due to the absence of proof.
But I am inclined to believe, that leakers are nothing more than attention seekers. And the more they get right, the more addicted they become to the drug, called "Attention".

I'm already imagining it because of the large amount of hateful Shovel Knight fans. I mean, I've seen some extremely hateful Shovel Knight fans on GameFaqs. It was actually scary. Like if she gets in over him, there will be a HUGE storm.

I don't think it'll be Incineroar, that would just be odd to me. We'll have to see if anyone's right, but I wouldn't count on it.

The next smash direct should really be revealing of lots of stuff.

Yeah it is odd to me that Sakurai would choose him over Gen 7's Greninja. Decidueye is a lot more popular and I think most people see Decidueye as much better designed.

The problem is, I did enjoy Fox a lot in melee, and just want them to feel the same pain people who played Fox in melee felt from brawl (except for casual players, I feel no hate for them).
