Can't say you're wrong for thinking that. Sometimes, this thread makes me want to agree with the haters. I mean, damn; you'd think with all the 'Leaks are dumb', you'd think everyone here would be a bit more upbeat. The worst part is that the rest of the Shantae fanbase outside this site isn't really better. I guess all those posts I saw on the Kickstarter page for Half-Genie Hero were just first impressions.

I can't believe a carboard box is wrecking the hell out of Smashboards, Nintendo should just come out and reveal the rest of the fighters so we can all be happy

You see, ever since the embarrassment of the Duck Hunt leak fiasco, that many a guy thought fake because Duck hunt sounded too implausible at the time, any theory that causes a lot of people to deny it gets a lot of followers who don't want to be the kind of people who denied Duck Hunt's inclusion, only to get a metaphorical pie in the face.

I mean, do you want to be the optimistic guy if the box turns out to be true? Hours of insisting that Sakurai would never do that, only for him to metaphorically shoot you in the head? Be cynical now, and anything more than two characters will taste that more sweeter. What do you have to lose?

You don't have to like the Box theory, but don't discount it. At the moment nothing outright debunks it's base claims.
The only things that can outright debunk it's claims are.
1, An Echo not in the range of Palutena-Corrin
2, 2+ New fighters revealed
3, A revision of the box that doesn't adhere to the current layout,

We should entertain this theory as a real possibility until something happens to either confirm or deny it.

You don't have anything to lose either way. I think there will be more than two characters, but if I'm wrong it's no personal insult to me. Some other people think this is irrefutable, but if they are wrong and the character profiles on the box are resized to accommodate more characters, then there is no insult to them.

There is nothing wrong with being wrong about something when there are still variables involved.

Agreed. Also, there would be nothing surprising about who is showing up to represent Pokémon, it's still a Pokémon. I'm not trying to be rude, I love Nintendo's pocket monsters, but I feel like we're close to having too many IMO.

Yeah, and that's sort of why I hate it whenever someone mentions Incineroar or just any Gen 7 Pokemon in a nutshell.
Because while this is a Smash game, it'd dedicated to the fans first. And yes, I do know GameFreak is a 2nd Party company and it's easier for them to get their Pokemon in than it is for Shantae to get in, but stating that Pokemon gets "special preference" in the selection process is just plain bull in my eyes. It's nothing more than an excuse to not speculate on different fighters because "Welp, we always know that Sakurai will give Pokemon one more rep!" would be in effect. I'm sorry, but I just don't like that kind of ignorance.

Then again, I think it was mainly because of the absence of a ballot and, really, the lack of opportunities for most characters to come in based on our then-sound logic. And then Mewtwo. Then Ryu, then Bayonetta and Cloud, and the Smash Ballot in between the two events. It's those events that changed our perspective and, maybe, reignited a flame to bring in a character the world has rarely ever heard before. Shantae, Isaac, Banjo and Kazooie, many more suddenly had a chance to get into a game about the most (unironically) ambitious purely video game crossover in recent history, beaten out only by the likes of M.U.G.E.N, VRChat, and Gmod.

Also, Tell them that if they really plan on doing anything that will harm themself or others, that they should not to do it and that things will get better. Tell them to just give it time and do something they like to do to take a lot of the stress off (like think about Rotty maybe). And also remind them that they helped the situation get better when it went bad.

If all else fails: Tell them to not become the next Hollywoodrok12 by losing themself in the negativity.

Tell him that no one is perfect and everyone needs help with something, and because of that there is no shame in seeking out help for the things we cant handle on our own. If they are really worried for their life, they should call a hospital, or an emergency help line or even a friend. there is nothing wrong with doing wat you have to to take care of yourself.

You have nothing to feel bad about. You are trying and that's an incredibly selfless and caring thing to even attempt. Not everyone can be helped sometimes and instead of feeling down when you couldn;t help, just focus on being there when the next opportunity comes up.

I don't know what Dylly is dealing with and how far gone the situation is, but hope is always an option. Hope for improvement or at least hope for acceptance and peace.

Just let them know that whatever happens, they are a good person who has made others happy, and in the ends that's the best anyone can do with their life.

Assuming that they're gonna talk about the "spirits" mode in the next Smash direct, do you guys think it's possible that a character would die in the first reveal trailer of the direct (in order to have a nice segue into describing the purpose behind "spirits" mode)?

Of the remaining likely characters, who would have a trailer that would lend itself well to killing off particular characters?

I'm just trying to think about logistics. Of course no one has to be killed in any of these trailers, I'm only humoring the possibility.

I don't think Geno would have a trailer where someone dies (unless somehow any villains from SMRPG were involved). In addition, I believe Geno would make way too much sense to revealed at the end of a direct.

I think we've discussed how Wario dying in a Shantae trailer at the hands of Risky Boots would make a lot of sense (and would be a nice callback to Captain Syrup--it works both ways).

I don't know enough about Isaac to say either way.
