FOR BRAWL

Since R@yvn isn't going to host this month , I took the liberty of hosting at zp next week.

And like the title says,

there will be pools NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE ENTER

even if no ones eliminated, pools will b done.

This is our final chance for MLG practice so come hit up the sfl smash scene!

Melee players:

I will host a melee singles side tourny ONCE BRAWL POOLS ARE DONE.
Apex rules apply.

It will be 5 dollars to enter and 5 dollars door fee.

The door fee will be lowered to 3 dollars to ALL THOSE WHO BRING A WII+BRAWL to help us during pools. Melee setup will result in it being lowered to 4 dollars.

There will be two tv's on reserve for melee friendlies all day. Any TV that we use a melee players brawl setup on during pools can be turned into a melee setup once pools are completed.

Hope that makes sense. Any questions just ask, I'm gona need as much help as i can get if we want to be able to have brawl pools and singles/melee singles finish at a reasonable time!

Doors Open at 11.

Doubles Registration will begin at 1:30

Doubles will begin at 2

Singles Registration will begin 30 minutes after Doubles ends.

Singles pools will begin 30 minutes after registration opens.

Brawl+Melee Singles will begin immediately after brawl pools is completed.

Entry Fee:
5$ Door Fee. If you bring a Wii, this gets reduced to 3$.
10$ Singles Fee
20$ Doubles Fee
5$ Melee Singles Fee

Payout 60/30/10

Players may not use a controller that has been modified in such a way that it alters their Character’s abilities and/or in-game mechanics. Players may not use a controller that has been modified to include a Turbo button. Players are allowed to make cosmetic changes to their controller, however, Major League Gaming reserves the right to deny the use of any controller suspected of providing an unfair competitive advantage.

Players may not attach a headset to the Wii or TV.

Players may not intentionally manipulate a button, trigger, bumper, D-Pad, and/or joystick on a teammate’s controller while a Game is in progress. Breaking this rule will result in a Forfeit of the Game.

Players may not appear on the Main Stage or Feature Station with sponsor insignia that is not approved by MLG or conflicts with MLG sponsors. Players may be asked to wear MLG apparel for Main Stage and Feature Station Matches.

In the case of a Wii/TV malfunction, the Game will be restarted from the beginning.

If a Player/Team fails to report to their Station within 5 minutes of their Match’s announcement, they will Forfeit the 1st Game. 10 minutes after the announcement, a Player/Team will Forfeit the Best of 3 Game Match or the 2nd Game of the Best of 5/7/11 Game Match. 15 minutes after the announcement, a Player/Team will Forfeit the Best of 5, Best of 7, or Best of 11 Game Match. If both Players/Teams Forfeit the Match, the higher seeded Player/Team will win the Match.

Gameplay:

No use of Marth’s Grab Release Infinites against Lucas and Ness.

No use of King Dedede’s Grab Infinites against Bowser, Donkey Kong, Luigi, Samus, and Mario.

Players/Teams who break Gameplay Rules #1-2 will be given a Warning. Each subsequent Warning that a Player/Team receives will result in a Forfeit of the Game (See General Rules #4).

No use of Meta Knight’s Infinite Cape Glitch.

(Modified) Pausing will result in the forfeit of a stock unless agreed to.

No use of an action that freezes a Game, or otherwise disrupts standard gameplay.

Any Infinite Move must end before the affected Character reaches 300%.

(Modified) Rock Paper Scissors will be used to determine who gets to pick their port. The winner of RPS will choose his port first. He then strikes the first 4 stages. The loser of RPS will then strike 4 of the remaining stages, determining the first match of the set.

In the 2v2 Event, the winner of RPS choose one Controller Port first. The lower seeded Team must then choose two Controller Ports. The higher seeded Team must use the Controller Port that wasn’t chosen.

Players may request a Blind Pick of Characters for the Game 1 of a Match.

After the Stage has been selected for Game 1 of a Match, each Player may select one Stage, from the list of Starter Stages or Counter-Pick Stages, that can’t be chosen for Games 2-11. The lower seeded Player will be given the opportunity to select a Stage first. The higher seeded Player will then be given the opportunity to select a Stage.

The loser of a Game must select the Stage for the next Game. The Stage for Games 2-11 can be selected from the list of Starter Stages or Counter-Pick Stages.

After the Stage a Game 2-11 has been selected, the winner of the previous Game must select their Character(s), for the upcoming Game, first. The loser of the Game must then choose their Character(s) for the upcoming Game.

If the Timer runs out, the winner of the Game will be determined by the following criteria in this order: Stock and Percentage. If Stock is used to determine a winner, the highest number will win. If Percentage is used to determine a winner, the lowest number will win. If both Stock and Percentage are tied, Sudden Death won’t be used and a Tiebreaker Round will be played instead. In a Tiebreaker Round, Stock will be set to 1, the Timer will be set to 4 Minutes, and the same Stage and Characters must be used.

If the Timer runs out and a Player exceeds the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, that Player/Team will Forfeit the Game. However, if the Timer runs out and both Players in a 1v1 Match, or at least one Player on each 2v2 Team, exceed the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, the penalty will not be enforced (See Gameplay Rules #16). The Edge Grab Limit on Norfair will be 45. The Edge Grab Limit on all other Stages will be 35. The Edge Grab Limits only apply to Games/Tiebreaker Rounds in which the Timer runs out.

Players may take one or more of their teammate’s Stock.

I might show up for singles, and I know I cannot make it for doubles.
If I'm running a little late, and call, just put me in a pool and I'll pay when I get here. Okies?! <3

Also, this is only 50% practice. The other 50% comes from coming to my house at some point and playing on the LCDs.

I plan on showing up, and probablly will be bringing my Wii. I just hope I am decent practice for the MLG South Crew :X. I gotta read over the MLG rules and familiarize my self with the. I'm glad that tere will be pools, so I might get a chance to play more than one person in-tourney xDDD.

Thanks Seibrik. I plan on being there.

I'm having second thoughts about bringing my Wii, just incase my mom wants to leave early. Will there be Star Craft players/other tournies going on at the same time as this one, or will we have the whole venue to ourselves?

I'm not sure if this is the old or new address, but the new one is right behind the old one.

Pools is single elimination rite?
No.
Each pool consists of X players. (Dependso n the amount of entrants.)
Each player in that pool plays every other member of the pool, and records the results.
The best Y results are then put into a double-elimination bracket.

Example:
32 people enter the tournament.
8 pools of 4 are made.
Those 4 people play each other.
The 2 highest results are put into a bracket, where a normal tournament bracket takes place.
Basically, it allows everybody to play more than the "at least one in winners and one in losers," allowing for more practice.
It also allows seeding.

Now, if not many people show up to this, everybody will be put into bracket, and this will just be extra practice.

I c this idea seems pretty neat, looking forward to it.

FFFF, Parents might decide to go somewhere that day. I'll try to push our plans back a week or two, since I kinda earned this tournament by winning a Tennis Tournament >.<

BRING WIIs!!!

door fee will be lowered to 3 for wii! 3 for wii! 3 for wii!

wiis are SUPER important for this tourny in particular because the more wiis we have, the faster pools will run. slow pools=slow tourny!!!

theres about 8 tv's available and at every tourny we always have 2 or 3 unused tv's.

so if ur wonderin if ur wii will actually be needed, the answer of course, is
YES

I'll try to bring mine, Seibrik. IDK if my Parents would want to wait 'till the whole tourney is finished before I can un-plug it, but I'll try my best. I have texture hacks on every character/stage, and Infinite Replays + tags in Replays. i'll be recording ANY match that is saved onto my Wii if I bring it. How much Wii's will be reserved for br0l friendlies?

BTDubs, the two TV's on the wall that is closer to the other room, they kinda suck. They phase in and out of clarity...which is why I don't use them.

Don't go on a boat saturday and do it sunday just beg your family and go to this tourney cuz it's amazing
I know. But, we only go on the boat when my dad has off, and he rarely has off Saturdays. It's my sister's fiance's Birthday, and he wanted us to go out on the boat, so that's why we are doing it. I told my sister that I was prolly going to this, and she said he was kinda dissapointed. She said if anything she'll just take me to the Friday one. I mean, the venue seems nicer, but I want pooooooooooooooooools :(((( and so much **** people are going to this, I'm bound to get better going to this.
