Mom got shafted out of her old job. Company wanted to bring in a new manager from somewhere else that cost less, she was asked to quit or get fired. We had to move, and now while she's looking for a job we're living solely off my paychecks.
Then, turns out her Assistant Manager had stolen $3,000 in funds and my mom had signed off on it without getting it in writing. Everyone in her office testified to the AM having the money, but it's all he said, she said. So my mom faced felony theft charges unless we paid them $2,700 dollars in 5 days. Needless to say, that was ****ing lame.
So we did it, somehow, with a lot of help from friends. We made it the first week in the new place with $50 bucks in cash, reached payday and got groceries and such. $100 bucks for the next 2 weeks. Cool.
Mom's friend is out of gas 3 days after that on the access ramp for 410 from I-10. Nobody can help, so I go to pick him up and wait for a tow truck with him. Terrible spot to be, cars flying by at 50 mph and we're in touching range. Pretty fun hour. Tow truck finally finds us and leaves. Go to start the car and the battery died from the hazard lights. I have never been that angry. Wait ANOTHER hour on the overpass until Roadside Assistance shows up, luckily we had that in our warranty, and he jumped me and I got home at like 4 am.
Then, 6 days later, the car stalls out on the freeway for my mom while I'm at work. Clutch plate burned out, parts alone is $500, labor included we're quoted at $1,700.
Luckily we're great friends with 4 mechanics, and they all offer to do the work for free, just the cost of the parts. But seeing as we're -3k in debt that's kinda' ****ty still. Lucky us though.
So now I ride the VIA everywhere and wait for my mom and soon my brother to get jobs.
BUT I DO HAVE THOSE FREE DRAFTHOUSE TICKETS SO **** YEAH.
Oh, and I am paying like 100 a month in lawyer fees as I go for custody/visitation of my son, she stopped letting me see him when the court sent her a summons letter.
And when we do have enough money to stand on our own, we're suing the vag off her old AM in civil court, as well as seeking unemployment from my mom's old company letting her go unfairly. Apparently we have a case for Harrassment too, but we're probably not going to waste time on something like that though.
That ***** that stole though, we'll **** her up somehow.
