Sonic has that annoying hit and run tactic. Roll into a ball and spin on other side of stage, -insert various dumb rolling ball mindgames-, try to rack up damage with rolling ball into ago aerials, try to land f/dsmash for the kill after getting opponent to 150%+.

Ba-zing. Perfect description. And then toss in a DACUS (Yes, a DACUS, maybe a hyphen smash [not sure how long his is]) as a mixup twice. More on Sonic below:
This is precisely what I did, except that didn't cover every option, which I quickly found out. In addition to the ordinary Sonic antics, he'd also occasionally cancel the ball into a Bair, and it's hard to tell he's doing this until it happens because it looks exactly like the tactic where he zooms the ball above and then homes in. I did pivot grab him a couple times, and shielded a large majority of what came my way, but there were too many times that he either landed behind me (outside of my grab) or I misjudged when he was coming. I did manage to get in a couple more grabs by facing the other direction, waiting for him to pass through my shield and then catching him on the return, but even that didn't help that much.
And then, every now and then (like, 1:45 at the least) he'd actually land one of his ball-cancel-into-aerials trick on me, after all that time of trying. It was the most infuriating things I've ever experienced, even compared with MK
And the really upsetting part was that fsmash and grab were basically the only ways I got any damage in on him
