GAIZ! Olimar chat, just got back from a tournament and I have stuff to talk about.
Also, I just had like a bajillion energy drinks, so I might not sleep for DAYS!

I'm excited to hear about these things.


But I'm even more excited about how the tournament went! I got 17th out of 38, which isn't GREAT, but I did SO much better than I did in my last tourneys - I actually won against people who know how to play! The people I beat were The Composer, The Keist, and Auspher

The Composer went Wario against me, and I have to say this now: THANK GOD FOR USMASH OOS!!!!! It's just TOO good, and it made that mu so much easier ^_^ It still went 2-1, but I had some pretty sexy moments: one time when we were both grounded, he farted at the same time I yellow Usmashed - I remained untouched and he went flying :D However, my personal favorite came before that: I had knocked him off stage and he had just started to recover with the bike. I predicted his movement, lined up the shot, and killed him with a purple tether the instant he jumped off the bike, LITERALLY into tether Probably the most satisfying kill I had during the whole tourney.

Keist normally plays DDD, so of course he went MK against me. He won game one (I forget where), I won game two (on Delfino), and then he counterpicks me to PTAD. Want to know the best part? He killed himself twice with the cars (Though I also lost a stock to them when they came with little warning )The stage actually isn't as bad as I thought it would be; I only had to rely on the road to recover once.

Auspher (Wolf) was definitely a happy moment for me. I'd played him in pools and lost 2-1, mostly because I couldn't deal with that friggin blaster. However, just towards the end of our sets, I discovered that I could outspam blaster with pikmin throw Not sure if that's a good tactic, but it worked lol, it got me through Game One quite well. Game Two he took me to Norfair and I spent the rest of the set grabbing him through the platforms with some usoos to kill :D

And then there were the matches I lost, YBM in winners and Silhouette in losers. YBM three stocked me game one in 57 seconds I gave him a better run Game Two, but he still two stocked me. So good >.< And Silhouette's a ROB who's great with the gyro; apparently the main reason I lost is because I dodge rolled too much instead of pivot grabbing him when he approached; it's a problem I have a lot, and I guess it REALLY hurt me this time

I also played a ****load of friendlies, and I consider many of those the real victory here. My main goal was to get more irl experience and improve my game, and I can definitely say my performance this weekend was a great improvement over where I used to be. Plus I got to meet a lot of cool people like Hilt (too awesome and MAD helpful), Squid (hilarity in human form), Composer, Moose, Crow, and I got to get to know my NEOH brethren better at the same time. All in all, this tourney was pretty much the best thing I've done all summer

Some stuff from my tournament yesterday:

For some reason I was spiking the **** out of people. I have no explanation for this. I've never really gone for spikes at any point in my smash career, and it's not like I've even been practicing them. I just typically don't spike people. But I was getting the most RIDICULOUS spikes yesterday. At one point in doubles it was 2v1 me vs havok and tearbear. I had 1 stock mid%, tearbear had 1 stock mid %, and havok had 2 stocks high %. I killed havok, and then tearbear ran to the edge just to play it safe and started planking. Without even thinking I just ran off stage and spiked him and he died, and I barely made it back. By that point though I was at a really high % and Havok eventually killed me, but it was still sick haha

Castle Siege gimp which I stole from Brian H (so cal Oli who's pretty good and has taught me a lot of stuff): If you manage to get the grab close to the walkoff on the 2nd part of the stage, for some reason EVERY SINGLE PERSON jump right after, so just jump and upB to hit them. I actually got this on Havok yesterday.

Did I mention I was spiking the **** out of people?

Also, for those of you who know who Nexus is: I beat him in a $5$ (which side does the dollar side go on? they both looked awkward to me just now and I felt the need to make it symmetrical) MM Rob ditto, and prior to the match he agreed that whoever won was the best ROB on the WC, since he claims he's the best ROB on the WC hahaha. He recorded it but idk if he'll post it. He then MMed my Oli and I spiked him. I think maybe what got me in my spiking mood is that there's a video of me vs nexus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msSu6a80WDI) where I double spike him at the end, and since he was recording our set yesterday I was inspired to get another spike similar to that, which I did. So that mighta been it.

I'm gonna get a little extra training with Larry Fiction and typh this week to fine-tune a couple things and then I'll be ready for Raleigh :D

You'll have to get in the habit of constantly watching your line, train yourself to stay grounded many times (I say this since you're a Kirby), and recovering in and of itself is going to take quite a while to learn to do properly. That said, welcome the boards and good luck.
