I'm soooo excited to start driving soon.. I'll get my drivers permit sometime in 2011, I hope, but first I'm going to need to learn how to drive.

Tournament, Casual, or Wifi Player: I'm all three lol
Favorite pikmin color would be purple because it reminds me of precious lmao
Favorite move by Olimar: Well i am the downtilt spammer :d
Favorite/best matchup I love playing toonlink
Least favorite/worst matchup Zelda.......

About me? Hm let's see..... I have been playing brawl from the release. I played wifi for the majority of my first year and then started going to tourneys. I was average at best but I somehow gained huge popularity. I think the site to blame is AiB, at one point i was the most popular member on the website! I took a break around this time and didn't play as much but i knew i would be back. At he end of the day this IS my favorite game and i love playing it even if its not on a competitive lvl. Wither it be uploading new videos to my youtube or playing FFA's with my 8 year old brother smash will always be part of my life. This game can teach you a lot about yourself :}

Ignore Turaz, the only person that's been saltier than him is Dabuz :chuckle:

Brood definitely is an amazing player, and he has a lot of things we can learn from him. That said, our American Olimars aren't total trash - Dabuz, for instance, outplaced Brood the other day, and destroyed him in a ditto (Logic did the same at Apex).

And you don't wanna main Olimar :) Though the videos are pretty kickass

Yeah, ignore Turaz, welcome to the Olimar Boards :)

Keep in mind that it takes a lot to get good with Olimar, and it's really stressful. You're going to have to memorize a lot and put up with a lot of getting gimped or losing because you have to play almost every matchup completely differently. If you're willing to put in a good while before you actually start placing well, we're happy to have you. Just know that it's not going to be easy by any means, and a lot of people quit for reasons very similar to each other.

Just the social thread.

I also got curious and noticed that you have an average of 30.51 posts per day.
How can you even FIND that much to talk about in a single day? XD

You guys say olimar has to play differently for every match up but I don't really think I do that.. Or maybe that is just something I don't notice

Btw vocal, are you going for 100 posts a day?

Hilt pretends to ignore me but he can't because I'm too beautiful. He admires from afar like most. I bet Clover bates to that pic a few times.

Not EVERY match-up. You can play Captain Falcon and Ganondorf using similar moves.

Olimar has about six or seven staple moves, but those moves become more important or less important depending on the matchup you're playing. And while this is true with every character, it's really dramatic with Olimar. At least that's how I feel. But like... I have to pull out a different playstyle completely for the Snake, Wario, Lucario, Falco, ZSS, etc matchups. And look at the Ike matchup XD A few moves are staples for about every matchup, but others will get you ****ed up if you use them because the opponent completely shuts them down. And characters like Lucario give even up smash a hard time XD But that's just how it is to me. Playing a matchup by the book is so much more important for Olimar, and if you don't play a matchup right, you're gonna get ****ed. And while this is true with most characters, Olimar takes a larger blow when you play the matchup wrong.

Pretty good at fake ignoring. Anyways.... I'm kinda bored. I wanted to get up earlier for school so now I've been staying up all night (4 days in a row) to reset my sleep cycle. Unlike vocal I have a legit reason. Also giving blood tomorrow so I hope I don't passout or something stupid like that.

I agree there are different playstyles. Just to name a few examples

Campy Playstyle - DDD, Snake, Ganondorf, both Links, Samus
Camp the hell out of them, and if they try to get close them tell them to GTFO with a smash or a grab

Aggresive Playstyle - Falco, Ivysaur, sort of Diddy, other Olimars kind of
For one reason or another you can't camp some characters, which means you've got to either start spacing some fairs and stuff or you'll have a much harder time of things

Baiting Playstyle - MK, Marth, G&W though he's also kinda campy (Lucario?)
Usually these people are hard to camp for some reason and going aggressive against them gets Oli punished, so it's best to try to get them to do what you want and then punish them when they do it.

Reactive Playstyle - Wario, Luigi, Peach, sorta MK, sort of many characters
These people may be hard to camp, hard to approach, hard to bait, or some combination of the three, so it's kind of just reacting to what they do next and countering it (watching patterns here is useful)

Of course the categories aren't strict, and a lot of characters fall under several of them, and there are other categories that I didn't really list, but those are just some of the basic ways I look at MUs

also:
Did you guys hear something? Oh, sorry for double posting.
lul you're hearing things
