Now, now ladies.

Maybe not this time around, but next time around we got enough room for Snake, Simon Belmont (DAT WHIP!!!), and Bomberman.

Rayman and Tails wouldn't be bad choices, either. I know I've been something of a secret Tails for Smash supporter for years.

Also, Simon Belmont vs. Samus vs. Pit vs. Mega Man... that's a dream match up. Like freaking out of this world dream match up, featuring 4 of the best action platforming NES stars.

Oh, and btw, I am still hyped for Sonic vs. Mega Man vs. Snake. That match is gonna be DOPE!!!!

Guys...

...what if Sakurai revealed Ridley...

...on Christmas!

:troll:

That would inevitably lead to mountains of butt hurt haters who probably don't even play Smash Bros. anymore.

Also, we got 14 of the 39 Brawl characters confirmed thus far. The next confirmation puts us over half that amount. If we get the Pokémon Trainer, that means we'll only have 22 veterans left, or roughly the amount of veterans that are playable in Melee and Brawl (including Young/Toon Link as one of course).

Why? That sounds like a good time to reveal Ridley. It would be a great Christmas present.
I still think the best date is March 19th, 2014.

Why this date you might ask=???

Why it is the 20th Anniversary of the release of the best Super Nintendo game ever and possibly the best video game ever, Super Metroid.

Yes, that would be a better date. That makes sense. That would also probably be pretty close to the game if it is coming out Q2 next year (trying to remain optimistic).

Don't get me wrong, a super third party dream match would sound great... as a super third party dream match. Limit to maybe 3-4 reps per developer. And to be honest, only franchises who've been around before 1995. Lots of franchises try the our guys only fighter formula, but... yeah. I don't know anyone on this board who is still playing sonic the fighters, megaman the power battle, castlevania judgement, or Onimusha blade warriors. Then again as i've said before, i have a bias that the smash formula and designer work best.

Why do i still not have the melee emblem tattoo'd over my heart?!

i think tales has their own fighter too...

You realize Samus has been out of her suit in other games besides Zero Mission and is one of the more interesting and notable parts of that character, right? Now I ask if YOU have played Metroid.
You're telling me Samus wearing a skintight suit is one of the more interesting and notable parts of her character?

I think you pay attention to Samus for the wrong reasons.

Well, it is, if you count Samus' sexiness as one of her most interesting and notable parts of her character.

In all seriousness, though, I believe he refers to the fact that Zero Suit Samus represents how versatile Samus can be, and how she can kinda sorta survive without the need of her Power Suit.

Or something like that.

In Brawl it kinda felt like they were trying to tell us that she doesn't need the power suit at all, that it's just a tool or some toy to help train her physically, while she fights best without the restraints/handicaps of the suit.

So in other words, Zero Suit Samus represents Samus.

Solid argument there Saturn.

She's more than a suit. She is woman hear her roar. Remember that there was a time when most players thought she was a man. Granted it was a long, long time ago.

Alright, Retro Reps. I'm glad that FE discussion didn't get out of hand:
Duck Hunt Dog, Lip and ROB. (I'll admit I'm not big on cuts. Someone out there enjoys playing as R.O.B. after all)

Would prefer Ice Climbers to be honest. Not only because it confirms their return and that they're vaguely christmassy, but it means they've managed to work around all the duo character issues they were having with the 3DS.

I think there is a good chance we will get Zelda the day after Christmas since that is A Link Between Worlds's Japanese release.

Also, on Pokemon, I think if Sakurai does have a newcomer planned for Pokemon in Smash 4, that there is a good chance he would decide to show it off on Friday.

Remember, if there is one thing Sakurai surpasses everyone else at, its being unpredictable.

Only three more days to go.

Hm, Australia timezones mean I always get here at the quiet timezones of this thread.

Curious.

But anywho... i'd like to discuss Snake really quickly - now that Sonic has been revealed and the argument that 'all third parties in brawl were likely only guests' seems less likely to be entirely true, does anyone think this'll increase Snake's chances of sticking around? I know it was Kojima's doing that got him into Brawl again - so I wonder if he'll ask for him to be included yet again this time. I remember first being iffy about the viability of Snake as a character that fit into the crazy, kooky atmosphere of Smash brothers but after a little while of playing Brawl I remember turning around my viewpoint and actually noticed all his quirks that, in retrospect, have always been quite at home in the atmosphere of the game.

So I would like him to return. I'm just curious on his viability in doing so.

@M&SG: I could see Palutena as a heavy-mid. It's like I picture this guy to be really heavy even though he flies:

I think Snake's chances are 50/50. I'd like to see him return and if there's going to be no cuts I don't see why he shouldn't be in smash 4.

First picture was Fox firing his blaster. Second picture was Sonic and Bowser at the boxing ring.

Fox firing his lasers represents Fennekin because it is a fire fox Pokemon.

Sonic and Bowser represent Chespin because Sonic is a hedgehog and Bowser have spikes and Chespin is a hedgehog with spikes.

The boxing ring represents fighting type. The boxing ring is blue so it represents water type. The boxing ring represents Froakie.

6th gen Pokemon Trainer confirmed. :troll:

My Unpredictable Roster:

Starts putting shield and armor for the battle that will come :p

.n_n.

Not unpredictable enough in my eyes to be classed as an unpredictable roster. You've only got two unusual choices after all, and only Aversa has never been suggested on other people's rosters before.

Yeah, I know this is "Roster Prediction" not "Roster Suggestion", but how many people have picked Takamaru by this point? Usually I'd of thought the 'retro' rep would have more diverse suggestions but it seems like nearly everyone's just siding with samurai boy.

Besides that little moan, I see you cut Lucario, Lucas and Wolf. Any particular reason for those cuts or just personal preference? Not going to bash this decision, just curious.

It's a fine roster however, I just don't see this as THAT out there seeing as it's very similar to most other people's rosters(aside from Aversa and Harry).

This.... Actually makes a bit of sense... Even though it's probably pretty

I'll take ROB and Lip. I think it's time for Lip to finally be a playable character now instead of having her weapon as an item.
